As you are 15 feet in the air, you lose about a foot, foot and a half aiming at the ground. And as 5e rounds down, that means you lose one square, so your unseen servant appears in Z7.
Now, I'm trying to iron out conundrums. The US (unseen servant) can perform simple tasks. But can it search? I cannot find any stats for the US except that it has a strength of 2. So, I can't roll for investigation. Does that mean Erric needs to roll for investigation? That would need to be an action, right? Well, surely there is a stick or rock. It's a natural area. There shouldn't need to be an investigation. OK, so the US picks up a stick or rock and chucks it. Does it do it stealthily? Would the gnolls see it rising from the ground and then flying at the tree? How would I roll slight of hand? The US doesn't have stats. So, do I just go with the flow? Essentially, Erric is expending a spell slot to extend the range of minor illusion. That's kind of cool. Alright, I'll just go with it.
Erric casts his spell, and he feels the magic conjure his unseen servant on the other side of the gnolls. Telepathically instructing his servant, he can barely see a stick rise from the ground and then launch into the tree behind the gnolls, snapping small branches and rustling leaves.
You can't climb down "just over five feet". 5e works in increments of five. So, if you climb down five feet (10 feet of movement because it's difficult terrain for you), you drop down 10 feet. RAW, I'd roll 1d6 damage for that, and you'd be prone. If you climb down 10 feet (20 feet of movement for difficult terrain) and fall the remaining five feet, you'd only have five feet of movement left. This is better than the other, but is Erric smart enough to avoid jumping 10 feet to try to move more quickly?
We're still finessing the end of Erric's turn, but let's go ahead and move along as well.
Sure, Erric can climb down the 10 feet, he's naive but not a corner-cutter on something like this. So he'd not make it too far -- let's say he ends on the ground, but still behind the tree, ready to dart forward on solid ground next round.

OOC: Gotcha, Erric.
Fumble roll for Maldorn: 13; DC15 CON save: 10 — The strain of your attack causes you to pull a muscle in your upper body. You have disadvantage in attack rolls and ability checks requiring upper body strength until you have completed three long rests.
Maldorn magically connects with the remaining gnoll within the ruin. As the creature sticks its head out to check the locations of its two targets, unprepared to actually attack, the hunter quickly draws an arrow and releases it, but the action is too hurried and done at an odd angle from around the tree trunk he's hiding behind, and he feels something pop in his upper back/shoulder area. He grimaces and hisses through his teeth as the arrow flies harmlessly by the ruin. He knows this injury is going to hurt for a while.

Anafrey would point her longbow up towards the gnoll (orange). She would take a deep breath before unleashing another towards the partially hidden target.
Attack: 9 Damage: 8
She would growl as the arrow sails over the head of the gnoll before quickly launching another arrow towards the gnoll.
OOC: Lerus, that's in the other campaign. This handicap will only apply to this battle. You're two nights away from the vault. As long as you rest at least once more, you'll be healed before you enter the vault.
Anafrey's first shot goes wide, but with greater determination, she fires again, and her second just hits. (orange -8 hp)

OOC > Ugh, sorry again guys. This slipped past me!
If Jambiya still has a good vantage on the yellow knoll, she will send another bolt of magical force at him, then she will duck behind the tree trunk again for whatever cover it can provide.
Move: Climb if necessary Action: Eldritch blast at the yellow gnoll. 25 to hit, for 8 magical force damage.

OOC: Jambiya needs to climb trees more often. It must be her favored terrain.
Jambiya fires another eagle-eye shot of eldritch energy at the (yellow) gnoll. (-17 hp) The creature yips in pain as the green-white energy slams into its shoulder.
The (orange) gnoll jumps out of hiding and fires an arrow at Anafrey. (Attack: 21 Damage: 3) Despite hiding behind the wall, the creature threads its shot through a gap between two loose stones, leaving a bloody gash as the arrow glances off her arm. The three gnolls on the north side all stand up to fire their own arrows. Two fire at Erric while the (yellow) gnoll aims for Jambiya. (white Attack: 13 Damage: 4; yellow Attack: 23 Damage: 11; blue Attack: 17 Damage: 3) Despite hiding behind the tree, the second arrow hits the little bard. (-3) And fueled by pain, the (yellow) gnoll is able to peg Jambiya, despite her hiding place up in the crown of the tree. (-11)
Erric shout-whispers to the group, "I'm going to try something, don't attack any that rush away from the fight,"and then darts around to the side of the wall at the northern edge (believe he can just get there, to R5).
If he can see the northernmost gnoll, the closest one, he'll cast suggestion on them, and if not, he will hold his action until he can see the northernmost gnoll and then cast it on them. "You must ignore everything else to drop your weapon and run back to your home at this very second, for you are sorely needed there."
(WIS 14 saving throw)
He also inspires Maldorn with a simple thumbs up directed at the archer's bow.
At the top of the round, Maldorn grunts loudly as his age is apparently catching up with him... well, catching up with his shoulder more specifically. He painfully nocks and arrow and releases it at the (orange) gnoll assuming that this is not the one targeted by Erric's spell. After the shot, Maldorn shows Erric a crooked thumbs up in appreciation.
-> Longbow vs (Orange) Gnoll: Attack: 15 Damage: 15 piercing.
-> Arrows used so far: 4
-> HP: 23/36
OOC: Hey, not too bad for a pulled-muscle shot! I'll add that inspiration d6 to try and ensure a hit: 1
Ow ow ow ow ow! Jambiya nearly loses her grip on the tree, but thanks to her magical boots, does not fall. Heeding Erric's shout, she watches to see if the gnolls run away, and if not, will target them again, beginning with the yellow gnoll who just tagged her.
Action: Cast Eldritch Blast at the yellow gnoll, or another gnoll if he is running away. 22 to hit, for 5 magical force damage.

OOC: Really, my question was more of a bump in case you had just forgotten. Never feel like your commitment to this campaign even remotely compares to real life. If you need to be away, be away. We'll be here when you can return. :)
On the north side of the map ...
DC14 WIS saving throw: 13
Erric moves to a small break in the hedge on his side of the road and slides within. Cupping his hand to the side of his mouth, he calls out to the (yellow) gnoll, lacing his words with magic. The halfling then pokes his hand out of the bush toward Maldorn, which the hunter does happen to see. (Maldorn, you're inspired!)
OOC2: Since a creature does not move until its turn, I'm going to take your direction as a held reaction to hit the yellow gnoll if it doesn't run away or another gnoll if the yellow gnoll does run away.
On the south side of the map ...
Fighting through the pain and stiffness of his shoulder/upper back injury, Maldorn expertly fires another arrow, catching the creature hiding within the ruin even though it is trying to hide. He hears it die more than sees it as it collapses within the remains of whatever building it is hiding in.
Anafrey is sighting down her next arrow when Maldorn's shot takes out her target. Smoothly, she rotates to the left and lets go of the projectile at the first gnoll she can see on the other side of the road. The arrow arcs up and over the various natural and man-made obstructions and lands in the (blue) gnoll's shoulder. (blue -11)
The bigger and meaner-looking (white) gnoll stands and barks something while aiming an arrow at Erric. The other two gnolls stand up in response. The (blue) gnoll, while momentarily appearing to want to fire back at Anafrey, aims its arrow at Erric as well. The yellow gnoll, however, drops his bow and takes off running (4) southeast. At the same time the two gnolls are releasing arrows at Erric, Jambiya blasts green-white energy at (2) the creature Anafrey just hit. (white Attack: 9 Damage: 10; blue Attack: 6 Damage: 2) It seems the gnolls are better shots when the creatures are up in trees. Or it might have been the distraction of their comrade's seeming retreat. Both arrows land to either side of Erric. Jambiya's shot, however, is well-aimed, and hits the (blue) gnoll. (blue -16)
Erric pokes his head out and casts dissonant whispers on either of the two remaining gnolls he can see (I'd said the northernmost gnoll, which I thought was the leader, but yellow is fine too), for 11 psychic damage on a failed WIS 14 save. What it sounds like to others is a song stanza sung backwards and whispered. It's creepy.
He also turns up to Jambiya and almost inspires her, but holds off, realizing she doesn't need it at all.
Maldorn notices the runaway gnoll, curses his shoulder pain, and releases another arrow. If he has to step out of cover for the shot, he will do so. Before releasing his arrow, he also makes sure to move his Hunter's Mark to the gnoll he is targeting.
-> Longbow vs Runaway Gnoll: Attack: 12 Damage: 11 piercing.
