The guard sighs deeply.. "Very well.. If that is all you know I will relay the information to my superior.. But, if you do not want to come over now I will need to take your names and where you are staying down in case this is called into question later.."
"Thank you. That's fine." Shake says adjusting his clothes in a self-important way. "My full name is Shakemass Barthalemeu Williamicus III and, as I have noted before, I have not yet decided on a hostelry at which to stay. Perhaps you could suggest someplace and I will agree to stay there."
Shake laughs imperiously to cover up his nerves. "You were correct, noble Dwarf. Your automaton is truly a marvel. And while the voice systems do shoot off complete gibberish and at the most inappropriate moments, it is still incredible that it can speak at all." Turning back to the guards he says, "Thank you for your services lads. I will surely write a song to honor your dedication to duty and the rule of law." With that shake bows a bit to the guards. Addressing the group as a whole he says. "Now, if there is nothing else I can do for you fine, upstanding individuals I will take my leave." Shake gives the small audience a flourished performer's bow and starts to walk at a jaunty pace towards the nearest cross street, hoping to get out of sight as soon as possible.

Shake doesn't know for sure, but he knows that Grom was the last one of them in the store, and the people in front of the store told him that it was a dwarf who did the stealing, and they weren't in the market that long. He has his suspicions.

It allows me to deal with them in a more professional manner, without my showmanship and natural magnetism being too much of a distraction to them. I find that they appreciate the courtesy. I mean, did you see how respectfully those guards treated us back there?"
