The buzzing quickly fades from Valentia's, Oswins, and Smalfry's minds. However, it builds into a debilitating headache for Lia and Jororic (until the end of the snake's next turn).
After shaking off the mental attack, Smallfry takes advantage of Valentia's curse and is just able to strike it, with his arrow punching a grievous hole in it (20 piercing damage after applying vulnerability).
Oswin, also almost ignoring the attack on his minds, send his spear flying towards the ghostly serpent and easily runs it through before returning to his hand (11 magical piercing damage).
Following up its creator's attack and also almost not noticing an attack, Oswin's steel defender charges toward the monster and released an overcharged concussive blast that causes the serpent's body to unnaturally contort (16 force damage)
Seeing Jororic and Lia both injured by the strange sound, Valentia decides to go and help the melee-oriented one with a helping touch. She moves to K11, where she casts Cure Wounds on Jororic. (6 healing)
Then, as she backs off to N8, while avoiding getting too close to the snake, she also commands her spiritual weapon to take another hit.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After providing Jororic with some relief from his headache, Valentia returns to a safe distance and instructs her spiritual mace to strike the snake again. The attack delivers a forceful blow to it (7 force damage).
Snake's turn
Feeling the pressure, the snake attempts to wrap itself around at one of the entities causing it trouble, Oswin's steel defender.
Constrict Attack: 27 Damage: 14
Achieving a solid hold on the construct with it's strong, but somewhat incorporeal muscles (11 bludgeoning damage), it twists it's body to sent it flying towards Smallfry, the other prey that did it great harm.
Throw Attack: 15 Damage: 12
The airborne automaton crashes into Smallfry (both take 12 bludgeoning damage, SD is now at M9). Just before Jororic recovers, the snake retreats into the room behind it, not wanting to be surrounded (it is now occupying spaces F 13-14 and G 13-14).
Lia and Jororic are no longer stunned. Oswin and Smallfry can take their turns.
Smallfry stumbles. He clutches his chest and coughs. A spattering of blood hits the floor, and where it touches the stone, whisps of smoke appear and quickly fade.
(I'm down to 2hp out of 22)
He collects himself, wipes his mouth (ignoring the brief flicker of flame) and takes out another arrow as he moves to N9 for a better shot. He draws the string back, but doesn't release, watching for the exact right moment.
(Readied action: Smallfry will shoot at the snake if and when an ally moves adjacent to it.)
Oswin moves through the remaining, intact door and thrusts at the ghostly serpent with his spear. It is has its wits about it and deftly eludes his spear (miss).
While Oswin has its attention, Smallfry tries to take advantage of its distraction and shoot an arrow through the newly-opened door. But, the snake sees the trap and acts in time to dodge the arrow (miss).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Angered by the screaming serpent, Jororic rushes through the door, swinging both axes with a snarl.
Attack 1: 11 Damage: 8
Attack 2: Attack: 20 Damage: 6
If an attack hits, I will expend one superiority die to add an additional 2 damage and the next attack (other than mine) has advantage.
edit: does superiority die double for a crit?
Distracting Strike (Special)
When you hit with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to add the total to the damage roll and the next attack roll against the target by an attacker other than you has advantage if the attack is made before the start of your next turn.
Her spiritual weapon follows after the snake as well, the mace swinging against it once it gets into range. (H-12 should be available, and if the DM takes to consider that as the spot either Lia's weapon or Jororic go to, the Spiritual Weapon is technically floating, so it should be able to stay 5 ft. into the air above other things if necessary.)
Attack:12Damage:13 Force
Seeing not many options, she lands a Cure Wounds to Smallfry at her side. (Heal for 5)
Will save: 21
Wow! Do I still take half damage? :-D
edit: what the heck? When I put this up, it was a natural 20. Oh well, Jororic is stunned.
Lia wis save: 5
Lia falls to the ground, stunned.
Smallfry wisdom save: 18
Nat 20, heck yeah.
Flinching at the "sound," Smallfry nonetheless grits his teeth and fires his bow at the snake.
Shortbow+sneak attack: Attack: 20 Damage: 10
Oswin wis save: 6
(Thats a lot of nat 20’s already, don’t know if thats good or bad yet...)
Oswin will throw his spear while ordering SD to get close and try and get behind it and attack.
Oswin: Attack: 20 Damage: 7 (magical if it matters.)
SD: Attack: 21 Damage: 10
Forgot SD’s wis save: 11
