Liadon takes a moment to compose himself, attempt to straighten his wig, and dust himself off. He self-consciously waves off Iam's assistance as he tries to regain his dignity.
His voice is shaky as he tries to sound dignified yet embarrassed, "I am much obliged for your assistance, Caretaker, it seems that I have pressed myself too much today. Please excuse the disguise, I find that certain markets or districts do not have the civility to treat all paying customers equally. As a way of recompense, I offer you this donation to a church or charity of your choosing." {Liadon Persuasion w/Disadvantage: 17}
Liadon reaches into his vest for five gold coins. He holds them out to the Caretaker in his palm, his hand as shaky as his voice, watching and waiting for the Caretaker to accept.
((Hardest for my character? I don't see it. I just expected to get a small amount of XP, but a full level up also works just fine. Recording of all level up features on the spoiler below.))
"True enough." Leshanna says with a cool look at the caretaker. "Do you perchance rent out rooms here?" If not she will order an ale and glance to the others with her. She is mostly studying them for now, not speaking much.
"Gesundheit", says Tsahil when the man sneezes. He goes on, talking as if this is the most usual conversation ever: "Well, I'd like to get out of here as soon as possible... but I guess it wouldn't be great to leave in a hurry for Glanyrafon if there isn't anything interesting going on around there. Have you heard any rumors that may be good for an adventurer? Also, when are the next wagons leaving?"

"Yeah, a ring!" Rina replies when Jogs gets excited. "Something to symbolize that we're going to be best friends forever!" She pauses. "I think they should be made of platinum, though. Which will probably be pretty expensive. We'll have to take a special trip to the market to go shopping for them together when we're done here."
Peering out of the tent on Jogs' suggestion, Orina spots the meat vender, then holds back a dry-gag. "Yeah, uhh... I think we should skip on the food for now, until Tebit wakes up at least. Besides, doesn't he owe us money? Why are we buying him lunch?"
When Tebit finally comes too, Orina listens to his excuse-making with slowly lowering brows. That's not very nice of him, to try to pretend he didn't do anything wrong! Her thoughts of scolding him, however, stop abruptly when he describes his nightmare, especially when Hainsley teases the dwarf about it. Seeing him squirm under the hare's teasing is enough punishment for slacking off, she figures.
"You know, Tebit," she says slowly. "I don't have a lot of experience with dreams, but... when you have really strange ones like that, that haunt you long after you've woken up - even after drinking so much - it usually means something important. Important good, or important bad, I don't know... but maybe you should tell Salvadore about it, or even Mr. Winters, rather than lie. It could be important!"
When Jogs steps in to press Tebit for their payment, Orina jumps, and tries to focus again. Right... people in the city get paid in coin for their work! I keep forgetting that! She nods vigorously to Jogs's very convincing argument, adding in "Plus, we found a few strange items with magical signatures that I think we should probably try to identify. Can someone in the guild do that for us, or do you know somewhere that they offer those services affordably? We don't want to get bilked!" She pauses. "Also, can we rest here for the evening again? It's been a long walk, you know?"

"Hey, woah careful now, I don't need another axe throwing scar, one is plenty."

Yes, I've heard about you, you've been around for some time in Resolve, doing good for the people there. Also, there someone around who was asking about you, ever heard of someone that goes by Con?"
Dordis & Leshanna: "Yes, this isn't just a bar, it has some room and lodging as well, if you don't mind the lumps in the mattress. We got food, music, and just a bit of gambling if you go downstairs. We deal mostly with less official work, except of course if a Caretaker comes around here looking for some muscle when doing his rounds. That's about it, but I guess if your looking for something unique, we got that piece of junk back there." She thumbs over to a strange looking block with a circular platform, which it seems at the moment is just being used as a fancy stage or a table. "I won that in a bet, not sure if it was worth it, but apparently it is some kind of strange magic piece of junk made in the North. If you can figure it out, have at it, but you won't be the first person to have tried."
Chloro Hills:
Nae has completely lost sight of it, but Xamodas starts speaking in Draconic, and shortly after, there is a response in that same language. (If you don't know the language, it's some kind of booming language mixed with lots and lots of hissing and growling, but it sounds a lot more yippy when coming from the kobold)
You hear, not to far away, and somewhat shakily. "You...Your a dragon right? I've not seen one before, all the pictures make you out to be a lot more frightening. Your not going to capture and enslave me either, are you? Are your accomplices dragons as well, in disguise?"
Corvidae - Temple District:
Iam and Liadon: "Well no wonder you collapsed from exhaustion, that getup of yours must be causing quite the sweat. You must be from the north." Upon being handed the 'Donation' he turns it aside. "You will find that us Caretakers are not easily bribed, we uphold a code, and have quite a nice living. Don't expect me to collect it as a citation, either, we don't do that here. With all these adventurers around, more than a few of them have something they want to hide, but if we spot you causing any trouble, it'll be the last time.
"However, if anyone has shown you any discrimination, you should visit one of the Caretaker stations around the city to have the ironed out. You must deal with that constantly up north, tell me, has it gotten any better recently, or is it still just as bad? And where do you hail from...Iam, was it? You don't sound like anyhere from here, your voice hums almost like...well, pardon my observation, but a bit like the hum of a piano's strings, very so slightly."

Next time, ask them for a green or white tea, herbal tea has a really high brewing temperature. Also, they do allow tea in the library, else what kind of library would it be? I suppose you must not visit often." After a few blows, and a few more burns on the tounge, it's cool enough to be drinkable, but only slowly.
"Ah, I am in no hurry, cleric, if anything, I would hate to delay you. However, if your meeting isn't too soon, I'm extending you the offer to come sit and chat, I'm always eager to share about what I've been reading and studying, even if it is just rubberducking, but maybe you can help me work through it a bit, I've found outside insight always helps"

Orina & Jogs (Bunny Battalion): "Wildren, never heard of them...Ah yes dreams can be that way- ah, payment? Well, if it's a dungeon you were after, we'll just let you keep anything you might have found, but if the haul was bad, I suppose I might be able to cut yer losses...ah, magical artifacts, you say? Well, certainly no need for payment, then, but please sit back and rest. Actually, now that I think about it, we be needing some gold after a new member of ours kicked the bucket, and we've been working hard on scrounging some- in fact, that's it, I swear I saw that lad walking around before I passed out. Ho-anyway, yes, actually, there's a man in the tent nearby who's a member of Rosebush, but he is always busy, let me call him over and see if he's in." Tebit pulls a rock out from behind the desk, and speaks into it.
Before too long, a half-elf man with spectacles, wearing a light brown robe with yellow trim, and carrying a hefty tome under his arm walks in. "You've caught me at a good time, I hear you have some artifacts in need of identifying? Would you mind handing them over for a bit- Oh!" The man seems to take an wide eyed look at Hainsley. "Oh my, what is this that you've have found? Quite extraordinary, quite extraordinary indeed." When he leans in a bit too close, Hainsley pinches the man's nose. "ow." he goes jokingly. Hainsley goes. "It's cause they smell bad, just a courtesy." The man looks in surprise again. "Incredible, and it can talk too...please, you must tell me more of your discoveries, I imagine you must have found some fantastic things for me observe."
Resolve- The Rosebed:
Voldred: "Yes, it is just a pipe dream I suppose, I would need to a rope that's really, really, really long and quite strong as well. If you had that much rope, you might as well just climb the tower from the outside. However, if you helped me, you could get a share of the profits, we could charge a fortune. Sadly, I'm no good at adventuring, but, I just so happen to know where to find this really long rope is, if you would be willing to help retrieve it, and also help carry it, of course. I'm pretty good at finding stuff, actually, just seemingly nothing worth anything."
Blackport:
Tsahil: "Ah, nothing specific, but there are always expeditions going out searching for stuff...ah, wait, that's right, there was an earthquake not but a few days ago, apparently some people were saying it wasn't natural, and are looking for the source. People think something massive must have fallen down from, well, you know" he waves a broad hand toward The Tower. "There's a wagon leaving in about four hours to travel at nightfall, and the next one doesn't leave till dawn."
Greenport - Mungam P.I.:
(Not that far, there is a desk nearby that would give just enough reach.) "A-ha, I have the mending spell, I bet I could do some modifications to the seal movements, work some things out...yes, would you mind staying up there for a few more hours, no days maybe weeks at most? This has gotten me quite intrested in putting my knowledge to work...."
The Vilemind:
Yaw: "What's this thing going on about anyway?" says Rattles. "Aren't we already putting our faith in another mostly disembodied voice?"
There's a hint of dissapointment in the robotic voice. "Ah...so, perhaps that really was the end of things, after all...you see, well you might not believe it, but...okay, the easiest explanation is that there is a world, but not a world, very, very simalir to yours, in which something very bad happened. In our world, The Tower had, for some inexplicable reason, crumbled into pieces, and everything began to go dark, a force of pure doom. So, to escape this darkness, these vessel's were built, as the only thing that could withstand the travel through it. However, the beings on this ship, and the ship itself, were pure evil, they planned to use their power and technology to rule this place by force, but if that were done,The Tower here would most certainly crumble as well, as we would bring the doom with us by interfering here."
"I beleive I am speaking because my mind is inside of a chip, or a small magic cell to help you understand, inside the suit I had...not unlike the Vilemind, but not nearly as powerful."
She gave the elf a funny look, and began moving the desk closer so as to get him down.. "That seems counterproductive to meet our ends wouldn't you say? I'd rather have my lead alive and helpful rather than delirious and near dead and little help at all." she smiled ruefully and clambered atop the desk and bringing the top of the desk over enough so that when he was cut down he'd land on the desk rather than the floor.. "If you can reach, I suggest bracing yourself for the fall..." She looked at the wizard.. "And if you could help support him so he doesn't hurt himself too badly?" she reached up with the axe, and started to saw at the binding ropes once everything was in place.
Xamodas the Red lands, and pulls himself to his full height - hardly tall for a dragon, but perhaps impressive nonetheless to a lesser creature. He continues in draconic,
"Yes, I am a dragon. And the others, they are servants. Unruly still, but servants nonetheless. Come out, and speak with us."

Iam stands uncomfortably while Liadon tries to bribe the Caretaker. His hand lifts a few times as if to interrupt Liadon and say something, but is stopped by a curiosity as to what would happen. When a question is directed at him, Iam is glad it might take the attention of chastising Liadon.
Pulling his papers from their place clipped to his chest he hands them over. "I came from home. I call myself Iam. I left home by the door. Beyond the door delivered myself here in Corvidae. A Caretaker directed myself to the registration tent. I registered and passed the sentience test. I am a sentient construct which may be why my voice has an unusual sound to yourself. If you have the time to explain, why would my friend Liadon have to pay to fall unconscious or hide himself in the north?" Iam explains and questions.
Dordis shows some interest, yet his eyes focus onward to get to this tavern, paying some attention to Leshanna's component gathering, but he lets it pass.
As Dordis walks into the tavern, expecting a different ambience and feel from a location these caretakers usually stay within, only to be greeted with an entirely different one.
Nonetheless, he notices Lucy, and lets her finish her ramblings before beginning to speak. "Well, that's a way to simplify our descriptions, I suppose? Anyway, I have not been to a tavern myself, actually. Infact, this is my first time to be invaded with this—" He pauses, "-this type of impression for a place, I guess. Well, em, what are the services that this place provides?" Dordis's eyes move to look at this group expectantly, showing some frustration over themself.

"... Needing some gold?" Orina looks confused. She turns to Jogs. "Does it normally work like that? You go off to fill a contract, and then you pay the guild after you've done it? Something seems fishy here..." She turns around and squints at Tebit. "Look, if a guild member needs help, we'll be happy to do what we can. But saying we have to pay for doing a job you assigned us to? What kind of a guild operation is that?" Orina softens up a little, since she kind of likes Tebit, even when he's drunk. "Who was the person who got hurt, by the way? Are they all right? Can we meet them?"
When the half-elf blusters in and starts poking at Hainsley, Orina bristles immediately. "Hey hey hey! Watch it! Hainsley is one of us! He's not an artifact and he can hear you just fine! Be a little more respectful to our teammate, will you?" Seeing how eager the man is to examine artifacts, Orina pulls out her pair of gauntlets and holds them up. As the half-elf makes a grab for them, she pulls them back a little, then says "Could you at least tell me your name first? I'm Orina, my floating friend is Hainsley, and the girl you really don't want to make angry right there is Jogs."
After the introductions have passed, Orina warms a little more to the half-elf. "We did actually find an incredible dungeon. It was threatening the wildlife in the forest, so we ... uh... well, we kind of solved it, then destroyed it, so people would stop tramping through the forest and ruining everything there. But we brought back a few things with us..."
While the half-elf is obsessing over the gauntlets, Rina leans over and whispers to Jogs "Do you think we can trust that guy enough to tell him about the glowy egg?"

Chloro Hills
Xamodas the Red lands, and pulls himself to his full height - hardly tall for a dragon, but perhaps impressive nonetheless to a lesser creature. He continues in draconic,
"Yes, I am a dragon. And the others, they are servants. Unruly still, but servants nonetheless. Come out, and speak with us."
Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Corvidae- Temple District

"Con? Connor?" Zacharias asks, smiling. "Yes, I've been wanting to speak with him. Do you know where I might find him?"
Resolve - The Rosebed:
"And you even found...a really, really long rope somewhere? I think you're selling yourself short. Anyone can find an ancient relic, or a forgotten tomb, or an Artifact Of Doom...but a really long rope? That takes real talent." ((OOC: Voldred is not even mocking her here, he's genuinely impressed.))
Voldred leans forward and offers a handshake.
"You have impressed me, and I will help you. But you still haven't told me your name."
Noldeme, Nae, and Xamodas | Chloro Hill
Noldeme would follow Xamodas while letting him in front. Unable to understand Draconic, she whispers to Nae, asking, "Do you have any idea what they're talking?"

Orina and Jogs (Bunny Battalion) | Cordivae - Rosebush Tent
