Liadon embarrassingly withdraws his hand full of coins as he places them back into his vest. Of course, he has the bad luck to be assisted by an honest Caretaker. Maybe it was the fall he took, but normally he can convince others to take the bribe, especially when he convinces them its a "donation." He begins dusting himself off more deliberately, checking for stains or tears in his only set of fine clothing. He desperately wants to check a mirror to straighten his disguise, but he dare not leave Iam after his episode. He looks around for anyone watching as he unfurls the thick braids of his wig and re-wraps them to cover his horns. "The hum of piano's strings," Liadon contemplates the Caretakers words, "...very fitting, and well worded. I'll have to remember that one."
Liadon's embarrassment deepens at Iam's question. He quickly tries to redirect the conversation. "Oh, Iam, the friendly gentleman doesn't have time to ponder the complexities of social & racial status of Corvidae & Faksimile. Uhh, thank you again, Caretaker, for your consideration and assistance. However, my acquaintance and I have, uhh, some pressing business to attend. Though your grace & honesty abound, I shall make that donation in your name nonetheless."
Liadon puts his hand on Iam's elbow and strains to guide him to the left. {Liadon Strength: 6}
"It's bad enough I have to explain myself to this self-righteous Caretaker, but now Iam makes me sound like a coward and a fool," he broods as he struggles to move his brass companion. "I've got to get myself out of sight for now," he decides, and looks for the closest open church.
Ulrich takes a sip as he thinks. Then he gives a little bow. "I would be happy to sit with you. I admit, I half hoped my meeting would be ready before I finished my tea. I do tend to lose myself in the library. Didn't wish to tempt fate. Please, let us go in."
He motions her to go ahead, then reaches for the deathclaw and follows her. When they find a place to sit, he will place the staff so the tip is against the wall with the head resting against his leg. His intention is to make it less noticeable to anyone walking by, trying to treat it like a regular staff.
"Not many would invite me to talk with them. Most do not wish to be seen with one of my kind."

Noldeme responds, "It's a dragon speaking to a kobold, it's most likely it is draconic, yeah, probably. What I wanted to know was what they were saying... As for me? Well, I only speak common... I know how to read Celestial but I never heard anyone speaking it, so I can't vouch for how well I can speak it myself."
Dordis's attention moves to Zacharias at first, talking in common, "I think I already asked Areyo to bring Connor to where we were, but that would mean you have to return there," his eyes lock directly to the block which Lucy said is magical in nature and continues, "A magic box you say, Lucy? From the North as well..." Dordis vocally mutters to themself, "Perhaps I can give it a good try—I am supposed to be good at this after all..."
Shrugging off the moment, he carries himself toward the "magic piece of junk" and begins examining it and comparing its visible features with any entries within the black dyed studded-leather book(tome?). While doing so, his pendant glows once more while he chants in celestial, giving guidance to his thoughts as he tries to discern what this magic box is.
Dordis shows some interest, yet his eyes focus onward to get to this tavern, paying some attention to Leshanna's component gathering, but he lets it pass.
As Dordis walks into the tavern, expecting a different ambience and feel from a location these caretakers usually stay within, only to be greeted with an entirely different one.
Nonetheless, he notices Lucy, and lets her finish her ramblings before beginning to speak. "Well, that's a way to simplify our descriptions, I suppose? Anyway, I have not been to a tavern myself, actually. Infact, this is my first time to be invaded with this—" He pauses, "-this type of impression for a place, I guess. Well, em, what are the services that this place provides?" Dordis's eyes move to look at this group expectantly, showing some frustration over themself.
OOC: Sorry I have been absent, I’m a bit lost in the story DM.
@Nessaja
((To simplify it so the DM will at least not have to explain much:))
Storywise, the caretaker that accompanied Azorha gave each of us a bond—it can be used to purchase 10gp worth of supplies or services, redeemable for 5 gp at the end of the festival, and can also be used for tavern lodging until the festival is over— and after that we were tasked to look after your character for a reason I think you know. Afterwards, we headed to the tavern called "The Crow Bar" that's basically supposed to be a place where caretakers go to rest or take up some jobs(they're also called crows by the locals), and that's basically all you need to know. Check the two recent posts from the DM as well because I might have missed out some details.
Honour: Within a few moments of sawing the rope snaps and Mungam comes falling down, the elf wizard barely manages chant a word in response and a Gust of air provides some cushioning, but the room still shakes as Mungam slams against the around. "OOF! Ow...I'm alright, I'm alright, I've taken harder falls." Your elf companion says. "I suppose that works too, although, I'll be honest, I was being a little sarcastic, a little." You hear someone calling, a female voice, from upstairs. "I heard something fall, are you alright?!" (To clear up the room a bit, right as you come in, there is a set of stairs leading up to a balcony, to your right there is a cluttered desk area, and up on the balcony there are doors leading to other rooms)
A woman in cargo pants, a loose fitting jacket, and short hair opens a door and comes out from a room upstairs, she looks quite young. She says, as she is pulling something out of her ears "Oh, new clients, I see you've gotten Fred out of one of his contraptions, trust me this isn't the first time it's happend. Do you need an ice pack?" He puts his hand up "No no, it's quite alright, but why don't you stick around to listen to what our clients have for us?" He turns back to you, and clasps his hands together. "What, uh, do you have for us, exactly, and for the help you can name your price for this one as long as it's not too much trouble."
Chloro Hills:
"Servants, slaves, I've been taught that those words mean the same thing." it says in draconic, putting up a semi-fierce tone. "Some kobolds say you give power, but others say you only take it away. You should be careful around here, don't expect us all to grovel at your feet."
It pokes their head out from behind a hill, and begins speaking in a somewhat rough sounding common, I guess you could call it a draconic accent. "I have also been told that dragons in these hills had either fled or were slain a century ago, and for one to come here, with two magical servants...I should be running to warn my tribe, but...if you wish no harm, I do want to speak to you all."
Corvidae - Temple District:
Liadon tugs on Iam, but to no avail. Searching about for an open church, all of them have open doors, looks like a temple dedicated to life is the closest.
"Ah" goes the Caretaker, not expecting your responses, nor your questions. "Sentinent construct? That does explain a few things, but I've not seen such a thing. Certainly, there are stranger vistitors from other places I'd never had expected...yes, you are very new here, very new indeed. There's a much longer explanation to it, but the north has many longstanding prejudices against certain races, I suggest, since you two seem to be in a hurry, you pick up a book called "Azraq to Acai", that should probably do a much better job explaining it than I, or anyone else, ever could. It's just about the most popular book right about now, you should have no trouble finding a copy."
Corvidae - THE Crow Bar:
Nessaja: ((Yes Dordis explained it pretty well, a Caretaker has incentivized the group you encountred to keep an eye on you.))
Zacharias: "Ah, well, I do believe I heard he was heading southward to do some work near the river port, but I wouldn't trust that guy even if he was standing in a zone of truth. Although, he seemed pretty down when he was here earlier, wasn't intrested in a round of cards or anything like he usually is, so I suppose there was some merit to it."
Dordis & Leshanna: Leshanna is having a difficult time making heads or tails of the device itself. Dordis does manage to wipe away some grime from some of the platforms, and discovers a fairly intricate design, a sigil. Looks like it's formed from lots and lots of triangles...always a weird shape in your studies, could be used for an emperor seal or a lovers seal...no, with this design, it must incorporate both, somehow. The device has probably has something to do with creation and combination...but through what method you do not know. You both manage to find an intricate panel of switches and dials, but flipping them doesn't seem to do anything...maybe the device needs to be powered somehow, that would certainly explain why nobody could get it working. Leshanna, looking over things, does actually find the symbols somewhat familiar...but from where, that will need a history check. She also finds a small panel, somewhat tucked away, that opens to reveal a circular slot of some kind, but your not sure what exactly goes inside, you are somewhat tempted to stick a bullet in there, which would certainly fit almost perfectly, but it could get stuck in there.
Azorha: For the time being, you have just been sticking along with these people, who have been tasked to keep an eye on you, although they seem quite preoccupited with other things at the moment, throughly investigating the strange device in this tavern.
Resolve:
Voldred: "Ah...well, I'm flattered, but I've heard stories of people with much more impressive talents, especially since I can't ever find anything when I want to, it just comes up every now and then." She shakes your hand, somewhat sluggishly. "My name is Twill, and...oh, you'll help me, you really will?! Oh wow, I uh...I'm kind of at a loss of words... I'm very eager to get started, and I hope you are too, but I'm actually really tuckered out, I was scaling the tower all day, or at least the first floor, and now I'm sore all over. We should sit and chat for a bit, I do feel a bit more invigorated now, but I still need some time to recover...say, what's your name, and what brings you here?"
Corvidae - Rosebush Tent:
Tibet explains, to the best of his ability (before the half-elf arrives)..."No, I thought I already paid you for helping the farmers...I don't know if any of the uppers would approve of me paying you for going on a dungeon raid, or dealing with rabbits." He does scratch his head though. "Did I say I would pay you, I would hate to break a promise...if I did, I'm afraid it won't be much. No, you don't need to pay for anything, we've just been all in a tizzy since it happened...and er, no they aren't "alright" they kicked the bucket lass, they're dead as deadweight, but if you want to meet him, we got his body back behind those curtain way over there. If it's still there and hasn't walked out of here, ha!"
When the man Arrives, Orina does see that he is quite enthusiastic and eager, but there is nothing overtly dangerous about him, just that he seems to be acting very unprofessional. Although, there is something to suggest experience in his face, a sight Orina is very familiar with seeing Beau, so there is something that tells you that this person would be a fantastic ally, and a terrible enemy. There is no way of telling which he may be just from observation, but that goes for everyone, well, almost everyone.
"Oh, excuse me, I am terribly sorry, I just get completely distracted when I see something intresting, I just have to stick my nose in it, it's gotten me into trouble before, I hope I haven't made you too displeased. He bows. " I am Rowan, I'm head of a wandering guild of mages, we don't have any really solid affiliations, but I've done work with Rosebush in the past. It is good to meet you all, Jogs, Orina, and Hainsley, and I once again humbly apologize, I did not want to sour an oppurtunity of meeting with a burgeoning aspect and its followers, but if you wish, I can look over your items and be on be on my way."
Blackport:
Tsahil: "For that distance, and the danger, probably close to 20 gold, but if you provide protection, which it looks like you might be able to bring, there's no cost to you. Unfortunately, I just heard the rumor, so I don't know the exact details, you'll have to ask someone when you get there. I think there was someon headed there for the same reason, dark skin, looked like his hair was full of stars cause of some enchantment, sounded like he knew what he was doing; I bet you could find him there and he would help you out."
Temple District - Grand Abode Library:
Ulrich: You find a nice nook to sit in, the space is built into the floor along with soft couches along the side for a much cozier feel. "Ah, you must get awfully lonely, is it cause of the Domain you worship? Don't worry, us mages don't subscribe to the same superstitious prejudices clerics like to carry around; everything is just objective for us, although that's not to say we don't still carry a few of our own regardless, just very different ones. Ah, so you do read quite a bit then, do tell, what was the most intresting thing you've read recently, you don't need the title just describe it for me. Also, tell me a bit about your work as a cleric, before I start rambling about my own."
"As I said not a minute ago, my name is Voldred. If you want to talk, we might as well do it over dinner. I could certainly use one."
Voldred will walk over to the innkeeper, buy himself a bowl of spicy stew, some bread and a mug of ale, and return to the table. Voldred will remove the bottom half of his mask and start eating, but making sure not to talk with his mouth full. In the dim light of the tavern, and if Twill looks very, very carefully, she may notice some minor snake features.
"What brings me here is the same as any other adventurer I assume - I want whatever is in that tower. And like I said, don't sell yourself short, finding random things nobody else can find can be a powerful asset. And before you ask - yes, there is a reason I wear the mask. I don't want to freak people out. What's in that tower anyway? Any particular dangers I should prepare for?"
Xamodas freezes up. He had counted on the kobold not speaking common. Nor letting his 'companions' know what he had said. Without my focus, I can't speak to them silently. This might be a challenge. But his tribe might have the gold I need to reforge my connection to the arcane. . .
To the kobold, he comments in Draconic,
"I treat them well. So well, they don't like to be called my servants. I suppose I've spoiled them. . ."
Then, he continues in Common,
"I would be content to hear what you have to say. I do not shed blood needlessly."

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Iam gathers his papers back and pins them in place as he replies," Thank you. Azraq to Acai. I will look for the book." turning to walk with Liadon in the direction he is pulling. "Liadon, I will come along, but I need to pick up my spear where you fell unconscious. Now don't exert yourself. I don't want you doing yourself more injury." Iam will pick up his spear on their way to the church of life.
Zacharias thanks Lucy for the information. He looks around for Dordis, and deciding the appears busy, the paladin turns back to Lucy. "Could you give me directions by way of the wagon park. It sounds like I need to go back there first, and then I'll head to the river port."
Nae,Noldeme, and Xamodas| Chloro Hills ”Servants, now that is funny. Trust me, Noldeme and I, we definitely are not his servants.”Nae laughs Nae looks at the Kobold curiosity overcoming her “I’ve not seen much of your kind do you normally live in places like this? Or are you here on special conditions?”

Once inside the Church of Life, Liadon relaxes a bit. He looks out the door to see if the Caretaker is still watching. {Liadon Perception: 14} Just in case, he reaches into his vest for five coins. He waves them toward the doorway, being sure to obscure the fact that they're only copper coins, and drops them into donation box. "No sense in wasting valuable gold on these swindlers," he mutters to himself. {Liadon Deception: 19}
Once they are well into the cathedral, Liadon takes a deep breath and tries to relax as he collects himself and considers his options. He watches Iam casually while he thinks of how he can salvage his plans.
Ulrich blinks a little as the mage talks. He is definitely not used to such an unguarded talker.
"The last book? It was an imagined story. At least, you are supposed to think it is imagined. About a youngling, who dreams a way to save his kingdom. The way involves new magic, given by an ancient source. But I know how much truth is in the story.
"My work? Is to insure the rest that all are entitled to. That death comes as it is meant to, without undue mischief."
Dordis sits cross-legged on the floor, eyeing the device while running their left hand along his green robe as he examines the exterior, trying to compare it with any devices mentioned in his black book. After a moment of consulting the book, he stows it away into one of the pockets that store his books on the backpack before he gets up and dusts off a portion of his pants. He vocally comments while looking directly at the device, "The device has a sigil here which includes an emperor and lovers seal-" Dordis paces back and forth for a moment, "-maybe it has not been powered lately? I could try using magic to provide power, but I can see that probably will not work." feeling trumped, Dordis tries to recall in memory if he has seen any devices such as these and the specifications of how to activate or use one while he lived in the North.

Orina and Jogs (Bunny Battalion) | Cordivae - Rosebush Tent
"There's a dead body here?"Orina squeaks to Tebit. She punches down her shock quickly and says "Of course, I'd like to see the body when we're done here. If it was a fellow guild member, then at the very least I can say a prayer to the Light to try and help their soul pass beyond the Veil peacefully."
She's about to look beyond the curtains Tebit mentioned when Rowan arrives, making his statements and eventually introducing himself. After studying him for a few moments, Rina leans over to Jogs. "You know... I think he's a little absent-minded, but he doesn't strike me as the bad sort. And... it looks like he knows his way around magic, maybe even better than Grr Grr Frr did. He seems very powerful, and I don't think we're going to find anyone better to ask about that stuff we pulled from the dungeon, to be honest."
When he apologizes to Hainsley, Orina's opinion of Rowan improves greatly. She smiles, and hands over the gauntlets she was holding back. "Well, it's nice to meet you! If you'd be willing, maybe you can tell us what these gauntlets are. I know they have some kind of transmutation magic attached to them, but I'm afraid they might turn us into a giant snake if any of us puts them on! It'd be helpful if you could tell us what they do, just to be on the safe side."
Hesitantly, she pulls out the glowing egg and, with an apologetic glance at Jogs, shows it to Rowan. "There was also this. It seemed to strengthen my own innate magic at some point while we were inside the dungeon, but it's been pretty dormant since then. Grr Grr Frr said something about Stones for Souls... I'm not sure if that's what this is, but it sounded really incredible."
Rina decides very specifically not to press for more information about the Wildren, no matter how knowlegable and friendly Rowan seems to be -- if they weren't making their presence known in the city, they probably wouldn't want to be found by a guild of curious, itinerant mages, she figures.

Nae, Noldeme, and Xamodas | Chloro Hills
”Servants, now that is funny. Trust me, Noldeme and I, we definitely are not his servants.” Nae laughs
Nae looks at the Kobold curiosity overcoming her “I’ve not seen much of your kind do you normally live in places like this? Or are you here on special conditions?”

"Sounds good enough for me". Tsahil roams around to find somewhere nice to spend the few hours he have before leaving.
Corvidae - Temple District
Once inside the Church of Life, Liadon relaxes a bit. He looks out the door to see if the Caretaker is still watching. {Liadon Perception: 14} Just in case, he reaches into his vest for five coins. He waves them toward the doorway, being sure to obscure the fact that they're only copper coins, and drops them into donation box. "No sense in wasting valuable gold on these swindlers," he mutters to himself. {Liadon Deception: 19}
Once they are well into the cathedral, Liadon takes a deep breath and tries to relax as he collects himself and considers his options. He watches Iam casually while he thinks of how he can salvage his plans.
Temple District - Grand Abode Library:
Ulrich blinks a little as the mage talks. He is definitely not used to such an unguarded talker.
"The last book? It was an imagined story. At least, you are supposed to think it is imagined. About a youngling, who dreams a way to save his kingdom. The way involves new magic, given by an ancient source. But I know how much truth is in the story.
"My work? Is to insure the rest that all are entitled to. That death comes as it is meant to, without undue mischief."
The Crow Bar - Azorha, Leshanna, Dordis, & Zacharias
Dordis

"There's a dead body here?" Orina squeaks to Tebit.
