Noldeme looks at Nae. "Yeah, but asking questions is different from teaching it to read... I can agree with getting information if the kobold has any." She then waits for the kobold to see if it's got anything to share.
No post tonight, since I have to get up early. Wasn't ever able to get things out faster, but the every other day schedule has been working well.
Here's something I'll share, music can have quite the sway in my decisions for worldbuilding. So here's a little song I like to think about of a certain town. It's got that gameboy haze to it, which might make it sound a bit odd to some, but I think it holds the right sort of feeling in it's melody, so it holds the namesake.
Orina and Jogs (Bunny Battalion) | Cordivae - Rosebush Tent
Jogs grins, "Of course!" she cheers, accepting whatever beverage Rowan has to offer and taking a deep, calming draught of it.
Orina watches with fascination while Rowan flips through his massive tome, then uses it to identify the gauntlets. "Umm... I don't mean any offense, but I think I'd like to hang on to everything from the dungeon for now," she says apologetically. "It was my first time ever visiting a dungeon, and well... I have a little sentinmental attachment to the people I met and the things I experienced down there. I'd be more than willing to help you out with something, if you needed to conduct some sort of experiment or the like with them, though," she adds. "And to be honest... I'm a lot more interested in this Mind Egg. Thank you for telling me how to use it!"
After watching Orina handing over her items to the mage, Jogs fishes out of her pack the plates of metal she'd collected from the gigantic snake, showing them to Rowan. "Say... would you be able to tell me what these are all about, too?"
"Hainsley," Orina says as she listens to the hare's exchange with Rowan. "If you want to learn to read, Jogs and I can teach you. But if you want to know the meaning of the words you're reading... ahaha... we might be just like you! Some things weren't made to be understood without years and years of study. But if you're able to read any language just by thinking about it though..." Rina trails, off, then crouches down and runs her fingers through some loose dirt tracked in on the floor of the tent.
(In Druidic script:)
Dear Hainsley,
Can you read this? It's a secret language that only a very few people ever learn. I think you're a very smart hare, even if you can't read Rowan's book!
Your friend, 'Rina
Orina says quietly to Tebit while the others are conversing, "Would you mind showing me where this body is? I'd like to say a prayer over them, and maybe help guide their soul to a better place."
Voldred: Twill seems somewhat distrubed by your minor illusion, but understands your concern. "Rosebush would never let that happen, they already own the place, and they haven't charged a copperto let a person in or out. That's why I'm not suggestin' we actually block the stairs or anything, cause then they would throw us right out. However, we'll probably need to set aside some of the profits to better the town of resolve to keep them on their good side, else they may just take it for themselves anyway. You don't want to see the bad side of Rosebush, either, you know what they say about Roses. But, I will say you do have a point, one or two muscles of our own might not be a bad idea, if your willing to cut out more profit, but it's better than no elevator at all. Up to you to find those, might be an able bodied Resolute we can hire, and they'll take just about any wage, or I suppose there might be some empty pocket adventurers looking for some coin in Corvidae, and even then, the rope comes first- I mean The Rope, gotta give it some oomph cause it's serious."
Corvidae - THE Crow bar:
Leshanna: The device clicks, hums, and suddenly explodes, roll dexterity.
Leshanna: The bullet fits in the slot and you push it a decent way in. You hear a click, and you don't feel the bullet anymore. You see that some of the nearby switches on the front panel have begun to glow,some that are switched upward are green, others that are switched downward are red, and the rest are off. The number 1 has lit up on various small screens on the panel, in seemingly random places.
Dordis: "Of course I can offer you a rest here for one of those, I'm no swindler, well, not here anyway. It'll give you decent food and lodging for the entire festival, 10 gold isn't anything to turn your nose at. How this tavern came to be? Well, I'll do my best, this place is older than old...I can't remember quite if this place was originally are bar or what, but the first Caretaker, a dwarf named Archibald Trost, set this place up near the city gates as the original HQ for the Caretakers, I'm not sure if putting the tap in was his idea, but I wouldn't doubt it. However, when King Corvidae passed, there was a bit of a shake up in the order of things, and about who was next in line, but to keep things orderly Archibald just took over as Duke, moved the HQ to being inside the castle, and sold off this place. More protection was put inside the city walls, so this place got pretty run down and scummy, so Caretakers kept having to come through anyway on their rounds to "check up on things", although they really just come here to rest after standing around all day, nobody causes trouble when their around. I won this place in a bet, of course, a few years back so I did some renovations and made it a bit more paletteable, without ruining that classic rougish vibe, until we got THE Crow Bar as it is today."
Zacharias: ((I would like to wait, just to see if Dordis wants to respond in any way))
Corvidae - Rosebush Tent:
Orina & Jogs (Bunny Battalion): Rowan makes a couple of foaming mugs, handing one to Jogs, and one to Tebit, who gives out a suprised chuckle. "You know me too well, I have your messaging stone for just this occasion. Oh, and before you ask, the flask is holding out just fine, still the best gift I've ever gotten."
Rowan takes a glance over, and answers without using the book. "Ah, I've been delving into material sciences lately, I recognize it. That is dwarven shapeplate, it's known for it's remarkable internal structure so that it can magically rendered into many forms without being worn down. I hear this stuff is pretty good for making boats, I think it's pretty important in those airships I keep hearing about cause of how light you can get it, although it's not strong, but at least it's not flammable. The smaller you shape it, the more durable it is, so you can make some nigh-indestructible crafts, but it's also quite rare, so don't count on the happening. If there is a master metallurgist in town, he might be able to make something with the material...actually, now that I think about it, I imagine the magic on these gauntlets you found would be quite useful on shaping this, perhaps that was their original purpose. you might be able to make something yourself, if you are proficient in those sort of things.
Hainsley looks at the writing on the ground. "Yeah, hey, I can read this...I'm very flattered, but remember, I didn't solve any puzzles. I'm just a dumb hare, not that bright." Hainsley floats up to you, looking over his shoulder sceptically as Rowan is looking over the metal which he is showing to Tebit, and whispers in your ear. "That thing doesn't really look like a book to me, either...it reminds of, well, remember that time in the dungeon where you sort of wanted something to happen, and it did, it's like that, but infinitely clearer...that pen he has too. I could so clearly hear the music, and the pages seem to glow and turn endlessly and I could see ink flowing around his hand as he wrote..it had to be what Grr was talking about, but, so defined, and it felt like the action took ages to complete, yet only a few seconds passed. I've felt it since he walked in, it's been difficult to focus, much more difficult than usual."
Chloro Hill:
The kobold tilts it's head, listening carefully to Nae's words, and responds to the best of it's ability. "Virtrussz Vantusss Amroriszm Crrdrrl is my full name, but my called name is Vir. Corvidae...the place is that way, walking is easiest, but a raft is quicker if you had one. Not many Problems for you , at worst, other kobolds, giants, big animals, bigger animals. I wish to stay with you until I am taught."
Xamodas asks Vir to show him the book, who clutches it in both hands in response. Its look down at the tome, then back up at Xamodas. Taking a deep sigh, it walks forth shakily trying not to make eye contact with you, and holds out the book as far from itself as possible to hand it to you. The book looks worn and weary, it's pages yellow and browned from years of wear, the cover of the book seems to be adorned with shed scales of a simalir pattern to the kobold, some red and some brown. "Promise you'll be gentle, please." You notice for a split second as the kobold hands it to you there is a circular pattern that glows on the cover of the book.
Corvidae -> ??? District:
Liadon and Iam: The driver explains. "Ah, well, everybody carries one cause thier visting or just in case, force of habit I suppose. No dangerous districts I've heard of inside the city, although I hear things can happen at night if you aren't careful. I'm not worried to much about being jumped or anything since caretakers are around. Apparently, they make it work out somehow so that normal service workers can go off duty to help out with fair activities or just celebrate, so adventurers pick up the slack, so, you know, I'm picking up the slack!" Having not given a clear place to go, he just starts driving around, probably racking up the cost of your trip. "Pretty smart, I guess, not like I'm into economics or anything, but they don't go broke by holding it every year so I guess it works. You look like an adventurer, what have you been doing, I bet you were helping out over by the construction sites if your a carpenter, that or this guy here is sponsoring you."
Blackport:
Tsahil: Not playing a game, but perhaps, listening to one? It sounds like some voice from a box they have, as you managed to poke your head in a few choice spots to get a better look, is shoutcasting combat matches, but from where you do not know. They yell out when people strike blows, giving names to the combatants like 'Muscle Man', 'Chopper', 'Spindly', or 'Rainbeard' that the people bet for. "Muscle Man" is quite a popular vote for betting on. They get the most riled up whenever there is a new challenger, and get betting like crazy. It is a game of sorts, but unless you knew something about the combatants beforehand, you would need to rely on luck.
Temple District - Grand Abode:
Ulrich: She goes quiet for a second as you explain your efforts nonchalantly, getting a bit wide eyed. "You do work for the circle, that's incredible! You really shouldn't sell yourself short like that! Gosh, now what I was going to say just sounds pretty dull compared to what you said, even if you didn't make it sound exciting. I bet I'll be hearing about that in the papers soon. Your domain must be very proud of you, your Queen I assume, considering we only have a king here, rumors and gossip aside. I would like to hear more, if you have any, but I suppose there is that thing I need help with. Up to you."
Xamodas accepts the tome, gingerly. This new body had razors for fingertips, and this book could be quite valuable. That, and he would feel some small measure of guilt if he betrayed this pathetic wretch's trust.
"Thank you, Vir," he comments. Then, setting the book down, he flips open the cover and starts perusing its contents, trying to glean what he can. He keeps an ear on the conversation going on between the kobold and the girls, but his focus is on this mysterious book.

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Dordisnotes down Lucy's account for THE Crow Bar's history in the green-dyed notebook, taking in word for word which could only be processed via his intellect. After finishing the process of noting it down, he shuts the book with the quill and inserts it into the middle pocket attached to his pocket. His books are delicately arranged retroactively by him often, the blue, green, and black tome within the top, middle, and bottom deep pockets respectively. His right arm stretches out, the bond still on his open palm while he says, "Many a chance of fate you have won, for better or worse, is what I am getting? On any note, you did a fine job from a perspective of a person who has yet to even enter a premise like this, even less to stay within its confines, " fixing a few portions of his hair, his eyes look ahead to Zacharias before talking, "Right. Zacharias, fair travels from back we had come from, I would believe Connor to have much to converse with you once you get back. Could you come back here at the earliest of tomorrow's morning though? I have an idea for what to do next, if you are still willing to accompany me. I am after all, only a passerby you met a day earlier." turning to Lucy after talking directly to Zacharias, he continues to speak. "Well, I will redeem the bond here then, you do not have to worry about making my lodgings any more comfortable than your regular rooms. Though, I am unsure with this lady here, as they have yet to speak in some time," Dordis glances at Azorha's direction before finishing with, "a caretaker told us to keep an eye on her, I believe she might have been a part of an artifact robbery? Anyway, you may take my bond now." Dordis's posture continues to be straight; however, his eyes often flutter to look to the device Leshanna has seemingly activated.
Iam looks around as they move along taking in the city, but also listening. He replies to the driver, "Sounds like it is more a man power solution rather than a financial one. That would explain why bonds are worth ten during the fair but only five after besides to stimulate trade. I guess you could say I'm on an adventure right now, exploration. But, yes, I was helping at the crafting tent." Iam continues to enjoy the view.
Leshanna tries to make sense of the various stuff on the device. She is quickly thinking this might be a bit beyond her capabilities, as she has never dealt with something quite like this thing.
With a plan in mind, Liadon corrects the driver's heading toward the Castle District. Once there, he will give the driver specific directions to get to the Villa, and what to do when he gets near.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Blackport
Tsahil doesn't deal with luck, but the bets sound fun. He tries to talk to some of the people around to try and get some information about the fighters; not asking "who should I bet?", but rather trying to get their characteristics. He approaches someone who seems to be wining more often than not "Hey pal. You look like someone who knows what he's betting on. Care to tell me why you were so sure Chopper would win that last fight?"
(OOC I'll roll a few things that may be useful, than you can get whatever really makes sense)
"The Queen of True Death is whom I serve. There are other deities that are worshipped by others of my domain, of course, but I am Hers. To be a cleric is to accept that you have been noticed. And that there will be things asked of you. There are those who fight it. But I saw no need to. How did you know that there was something about you?"
((To say, I do like the music you shared one post back. Makes me reminisce the years of GBA that I barely got to experience, and oddly reminding me a bit of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 if anyone has played that.))
((total apologies for missing posts... Been a crazy time round here))
Greenport:
Honour: Within a few moments of sawing the rope snaps and Mungam comes falling down, the elf wizard barely manages chant a word in response and a Gust of air provides some cushioning, but the room still shakes as Mungam slams against the around. "OOF! Ow...I'm alright, I'm alright, I've taken harder falls." Your elf companion says. "I suppose that works too, although, I'll be honest, I was being a little sarcastic, a little." You hear someone calling, a female voice, from upstairs. "I heard something fall, are you alright?!" (To clear up the room a bit, right as you come in, there is a set of stairs leading up to a balcony, to your right there is a cluttered desk area, and up on the balcony there are doors leading to other rooms)
A woman in cargo pants, a loose fitting jacket, and short hair opens a door and comes out from a room upstairs, she looks quite young. She says, as she is pulling something out of her ears "Oh, new clients, I see you've gotten Fred out of one of his contraptions, trust me this isn't the first time it's happend. Do you need an ice pack?" He puts his hand up "No no, it's quite alright, but why don't you stick around to listen to what our clients have for us?" He turns back to you, and clasps his hands together. "What, uh, do you have for us, exactly, and for the help you can name your price for this one as long as it's not too much trouble."
Honour grinned and sheathed the Boarding Axe, as she smiled and curtailed / bowed with a flourish. "Well, all's well when no one is seriously hurt." She pulled herself up from her bow and straightened herself out, brushing back a lock of lilac hair. "I was steered this direction from a local tavern and I was hoping you might point me in the direction of a... Captain Deadeye? I'm a sailor out of work, and I would like to continue my profession, maybe make my fortune along the way." He looked over towards her companion. "As for this young sir.. He's looking for work as well, so hopefully it's two birds, one stone yes?" She smiled. "As for payment.. what would your rates usually be for something like this?"
Noldeme hears what the kobold has to say and replies, on a bit lesser of a sour, after having a better understanding of what it wanted. "So... It wants to come with us? I don't know how well I'll be able to protect you, little buddy, but I can try. It also makes it so I can't complain about wasting time if we're just gonna keep walking with you. Again, I'm not exactly a teacher to be good at making you learn, but I can hope the other two may be able to help you with that."
Vir is a bit skittsh, but seeing as they have been able to come this close, they sit cross legged on the ground as they wait for Xamodas to peruse the spellbook. Vir answers Noldeme"Maybe you can't teach, but perhaps I can learn from you." says Vir. "From what I can tell, there is a magical beauty all about you, it shines from your eyes. Can you teach me where magic comes from, surely, it must have some orgin related to you, what is your birth place? I have been taught that magic lies deep below or high above...do you come from somewhere like that?"
Xamodas turns through the pages. The pages are written in draconic, it is difficult to read, but you are not sure if it is because the handwriting is bad or you are adjusting to your gift to do so. About half the pages are filled in with spells some of which may take quite a bit of deciphering. The other half is blank. After a short bit, you understand some of the spells within, there is a list of studying methods for memorizing and practicing basic cantrips, which have some pictures to go along with them, as well as a few on other pages: "Tounges of Flame." seems to fit the description for Scorching Ray, "Hands of the Maw", Burning hands, "Magic Missle." is well, Magic missle. There are a few more, if you took a rest you could prepare some, but you would have to but the few psionic spells you've been focusing on until you write them down again. The handwriting stays mostly consistent throughout the book, but the notetaking becomes much more proficient as it goes on. It's possible, with almost half this book filled, there could be some quite powerful spells further in. The only thing that stands out most is on the front cover page, there is a dedication of sorts, like this was a gift to someone, which is written clearly in draconic of a different wtriting style, which says:
"To Eti: the closest gift to my heart I could give."
Corvidae - THE Crowbar:
Dordis: "I'm flattered, and happy to share anything else you might need to know, although, not all of it will cost the same as the latter." Lucy winks. She reaches forth and picks up your bond, it dissapears in her palm. "No refunds" she smiles.
Leshanna: ((oh yes, it takes up a large space and appears to be made out of solid metal)) Leshanna, in a stroke off pure genius, goes "oh, green good, red bad" and flips the red switches up. More 1s appear on screens lower down, she realizes they are in the same column as other 1s. As all switches are flipped, a button pops out from the panel, it glows with a yellow exclamation point. !
-> Wagon Park
Zacharias: You head back to where the conflict was...er, well you try to, but it is difficult to find. You swear this was the place, but everything looks entirely cleaned up, you imagine this is a bit like what walking into a haunted house feels like. Despite it's physical appearance, you can feel the events presence here. A famiiar voice calls out. "Hey, right on time." says Areyo...she is unattended. "Sorry to waste your time, but there's been no sign of Con since he was last at the tent. Gone completely AWOL. However, we can still do the plan without him...oh, right, I should mention Edgar wants to go ahead with the plan to find the Warlock again anyway, just in case. That's up to you though, personally I'd like to wrap this thing up with a bow and move on."
Corvidae -> Castle District:
The driver is a bit irked by your sudden directions, but shifts accordingly, as you move, you can feel the cart leaning back as you go uphill. "An adventure, eh, aren't we all? Although, I would not say the Castle district is worth exploring, just a bunch of rich weirdos and expensive stuff. No- well, some offense to yah, I don't see how any sane person can live comfortably in something so big, I'd get lost. I guess that's just me. " The roads flatten out a bit, you can see much grander abodes than below up here. You look up as something catches your eye, you think you see black figures perched up on rooftops. The driver doesn't seem to notice or mind them.
Resolve -> The Rosebed:
"There is a river port west of here, due slightly north, that's where I know it is. It should be on a boat there, hopefully it belongs to someone we can negotiate something. I can sense it there now. It's not even a half-days journey there, we can go now, I am feeling ready but I might ask for a few pitstops along the way. You ready?"
Faksimile- Temple District - Grand Abode:
Ulrich: "How did I..know that there was something about me?...well, I can't speak as a cleric, I've never been one to think themselves chosen by the aspects, but I can understand a simalar feeling...like I had been chosen, that magic was somrthing I needed to move foreward...but, I don't know, that's not something I feel like sharing, clerics are full of zeal about what they do, cause somebody get's helped from it, and a deity praises them for it. Meanwhile, I'm just stuck researching, day in and day out, I know I have to do it, want to do it, need to do it, but it really wears me down. You wouldn't want to hear about it anyway, it would probably just sound selflish."
Greenport: ((No worries))
Mungam says "Captain Deadeye? Of course, that missing fellow from this morning, I've been hearing that word gone around. I've been organizing some things, but I was just about to hop on that myself. I could use all the help I could get to find him, he's not an easy man to pin down, and it's not my first time trailing him- Whoops, that was suppose to be confidential, but anyway. I would happily work free of charge."
" On one condition." says the woman above., hopping down from the banister and climbing down from what's left from the rope on the ceiling. "We get to keep his Crux." Roll history or Arcana to try remember if you've heard of something like that before. "Also, you gotta help us with getting that from him, too. Probably just on his dead body anyway, considering a captain usually goes down with the ship."
Blackport:
A rough looking, gray stubbled man answers"Well, I'm not usually one for sharing but...you look new, be nice for some intresting competiton. You gotta keep your ears open, listen closely to what the announcer says. You gotta gleam from the descriptions whose good or not to win it big. I'll being honest, though, I just want to earn some more cash from betting against you- ach ach ach!"
((OOC: As an aside, Xamodas knew draconic even before his reincarnation. Of course, spellbooks are often encoded so if would be difficult to read anyway.))
Chloro Hills
Xamodas, tucking the tome carefully under one arm, turns back towards the others. This was an interesting prize, easily worth babysitting a kobold for a while. He would have to find a way to carry it more easily, and perhaps have the cover redone. It would not do for a former owner to recognize it. He waits for them to wrap up their conversation and continue their travels.

"I think I have it all powered up now." Leshanna tells the barkeep. "Might want to have everyone clear out though, as I am thinking it is a weapon of some sort. I don't want to accidentally shoot someone when I press that yellow button there."

Corvidae -> ??? District:

THE Crow Bar - Azorha, Leshanna, Dordis & Zacharias <traveling?>
Dordis Falthenfyern
Dordis notes down Lucy's account for THE Crow Bar's history in the green-dyed notebook, taking in word for word which could only be processed via his intellect.
Corvidae- ??? District

With a plan in mind, Liadon corrects the driver's heading toward the Castle District. Once there, he will give the driver specific directions to get to the Villa, and what to do when he gets near.

Noldeme, Nae, and Xamodas | Chloro Hill
Noldeme hears what the kobold has to say and replies, on a bit lesser of a sour, after having a better understanding of what it wanted. "So... It wants to come with us? I don't know how well I'll be able to protect you, little buddy, but I can try. It also makes it so I can't complain about wasting time if we're just gonna keep walking with you. Again, I'm not exactly a teacher to be good at making you learn, but I can hope the other two may be able to help you with that."

Chloro Hills:
-> Wagon Park
Corvidae -> Castle District:
Resolve -> The Rosebed:

Xamodas, tucking the tome carefully under one arm, turns back towards the others. This was an interesting prize, easily worth babysitting a kobold for a while.
