Leshanna gives a shrug and steps back. "I have my own business here in the city, but I will hear you out on what your task is." Leshanna says, stepping back and letting him enter the room. "As for tomorrow, yes I plan on going with you to receive payment for the vagrant, if there was indeed a price on his head."
Dordis nods as he enters the room with soft steps. He eyes the room around for a chair, sitting down on one if there is. Clearing his exhaustion from recent events, and fixing their posture to be upright, his hands on his lap, placed ontop of his green robes of fine quality. He begins to speak with, "I expected you to have your own work in the kingdom, but that should be fine. I—I want you to help me look for someone. A half-elf to be descriptive—Soltris is their name. I did not ask for a family name since my time with them could only be seen as mentor and master. But, the novelties aside, I and my father are willing to pay for up to 1,000 to 2,000 gold if you wish to aid me. Of course, it may come at a later date since Corvidae and Faksimile are a bit far from each other, but I can have him know ahead of time via mailings or letters." Dordis pauses to let Leshanna digest the information, while also searching for a reaction. He continues shortly after, "The vagrant too, of course. I need my own gold to send the letter after all. Plus, I need to look into some more knowledge in the private library the caretaker talked about. If you think of it, it is more of you being my bodyguard, really. I will accompany you anywhere you go, and hopefully you will do the same." his expression shifts from a serious to lighter and confident feeling. While not being particularly good at women, he is quite well enough to talk that it might be persuasive in detail.
"I have no problem aiding you in this, after I complete my other task." Leshanna says with a nod. "My task is not one that you will wish to be part of though I feel, since it is the removal of an evil and despised member of the Caretakers." She seems to be speaking nothing but truth, her words coming out a bit emotionless and logical-sounding.

She seems to be speaking nothing but truth, her words coming out a bit emotionless and logical-sounding.
Dordis still keeps a tense posture, but appreciates her formality and logical thinking. He seems to take an interest almost immediately when Leshanna talks of disposing a corrupt Caretaker, and responds, "I would love to come with you and interrogate this caretaker, if you will? I may be well-attuned to law, but if this person is who you say they are, they should be rightfully judged and punished for their inconveniences. I am well-known for my attunement to the arcane magic of the world, so perhaps I can be of good aid to you. I will have to cut down the amount I will pay you for perhaps 500 gold if you can settle? You can have most of the bounty or what this corrupt caretaker has, so long as I get noteworthy items I can research and identify on my free-time." Dordis peeks out of the room into the hallway looking for his own room, and letting Leshanna sink in his words before closing the door. He continues with the same confident yet logical tone, "Also, it might be too much to ask, but could I sleep in your room with you? I—am not good at sleeping alone in rooms of this quality, and since we are both known by some of the populace, there might be some who wish to snoop on either of us, which include Zacharias from before. I can sleep decently under a tree, but I would not turn down a room. To summarize, I can feel safer if you allow me to stay here." Dordis talks with a confident attitude, yet his expression comes of as logical, concluding that this is a better outcome for him and perhaps Leshanna to work together.
Xamodas comes out of his reverie as Vir restates his curiosity. The similarities in body and mind between the pathetic little lizard and his own being did not go completely unnoticed to him.
"I will make sure you are ready to learn before we start your studies. If you rush it, you risk learning it wrong. It is much easier to learn it right the first time than to fix mistakes. When we get to that castle, I think we might rest a while while our friends attend to their business." On that, he turns to Nae and Noldeme again. "What is our business there again? This trip is already proving productive to me. I would like to be prepared to see it to it's conclusion."
Spellbook discussion below:
So you've specifically mentioned there are 6-12 1st&2nd level spells. If we take the average at 9 spells of that level you've listed
Mage Armor
Shield
Tenser's Floating Disk
Magic Missile
Tongues of Flame (Scorching Ray)
Hands of the Maw (Burning Hands)
Given that this seems to have belonged to a kobold pyromancer of some sort (or perhaps another dragon), and to save you some effort, I propose the last three spells be
Dragon's Breath
Flaming Sphere
Blur (personal preference)
The first two aren't particularly useful but they seem like natural fits with the others. Does this work?

"As long as you know that I get the bed, alone." Leshanna says with a nod, starting to think this fellow might be worth the effort of getting to know a bit. His logical way of discussion seems a nice fit to her own.
"As long as you know that I get the bed, alone." Leshanna says with a nod, starting to think this fellow might be worth the effort of getting to know a bit. His logical way of discussion seems a nice fit to her own.
Dordis seems to lessen his tense posture, still upright on the chair, but is now taking out an exquisite-made silk-cloth of a bed-roll. He looks out into a window if there is one, otherwise he sits cross-legged on the bedroll, flipping through his green and blue leather books for gathered information on the day. His pendant casually hums a reverberating an echo of a sun's electro-magnetic waves, hearing the beat of the galaxies beyond all in one pendant. The star glimmers for a moment, but returns to the royal-blue colour, including the dulled-silver for tracing the star.
He registers the information for a moment, and then looks at Leshanna to reply, "Say, care to tell me how someone of your caliber—excuse the unnecessary joke—came to be in a kingdom like this? Perhaps I ought to re-write some entries for traveler frequentings. I swear you could be of better use in Saisei." Dordis eyes Leshanna's firearms from top to bottom. He regards them with good detail, sketching these weapons down whilst replying, "These ranged weapons of yours surely have a background from where you came to get them, yes? I am fond of learning knowledge, as knowing what makes a bomb tick makes the difference of a minute." a thought arises to his face, but he shakes it off. His green eyes scan the rifles as he finishes the sketch of the firearms he had to pause due to combat. His robes are comfortable on the bedroll, and so is his blue-undertunic of fine, comfortable linen. The pendant of a star pulsates, and a purple-hue enters his sight as it brings a form of Guidance as he sketches.
((To see how good his sketches are currently, sleight of hand and dexterity have the same skill values))
Zacharias smiles up at the dragonborn. "Go. Rest." (If Areyo looks like she could use some healing, he'll use lay on hands on her.) "I will go on and try to find Connor. If the ports are as dangerous as you say, you can send someone to meet me there. Perhaps he will have some insight on this warlock business. I know it hasn't been that long since he and I left Resolve, but it feels like ages." He bids Areyo farewell and heads toward the river port.
Your elf friend scratches his head, you guess he never learned what a Crux was in wizard school. "I would like to know what I'm getting into as well, you should explain to us a bit about this, and I'm certainly intrested in hearing about this Crux thing, sounds like it's powerful, but so do lots of things."
Mungam grimaces when Sarah speaks "Now, I wasn't going to spill all the beans, but now I guess I don't have a choice. Sure, let me pull out my file I guess." He moves over to a filing cabniet, and flips through, grumbling. He pulls one out, flips through it, and brings out a sketch. Dark skin, short hair, a bold face, and one of his eyes is completely whited over, like he were blind in that eye. "Malcolm 'Deadeye' Blake, from what I've heard, he's in a very weird spot as a ships captain. He has quite the reputation for acting outside of the law, but at the same time, he is notable for going after pirates specifically. He has quite a few debts he needs to repay, hence how I've gotten mixed up with him. A few of them he's apparently repaid in blood, in fact, he's been marked as deceased on records many times, but he always comes back, new crew, new ship, time and time again."
Sarah says, pointing to the sketches eye. "I figured out that eye of his ain't just blind, it's a proesthetic, and he constantly brags about how it let's him see his fate. Gotta be a Crux, but unfortunately, my second story work hasn't paid off in getting me close enough to snatch it. However, if there were some way to get close."
Mungam says exactly what you need to hear. "I already have a plan, of course." he sit town in a large spinny chair, obscuring himself. "If he does have some way to come back, or is just still alive, he is obviously looking for a crew in secret, probably just a small one of...oh, you know four or five?" He turns around, and he wearing a tricorne and an eyepatch, with a fake bird on his shoulder. He gestures to the lot of you. "So, in a way, you would be getting work on a ship, but only to help me assess the man, for the sake of my previous clients, reclaiming this 'Crux' he supposedly has, or any other assets he might have to whoever he owes it too."
She smiled.. "I like the way you think there.. For it seems we both get what we want. i work with a well renown Captain, who has a penchant for hunting down pirates, you get whatever this crux is. My proviso is this. We should assess him aye, but also, assess his creditors, since they may be unjust themselves. I firmly believe in the whim of fate, for she's as fickle as the sea herself. And we make our decision to inform or aid him should the opportunity arise. It may not be our place to, but either way, we're in the dangerous position of being caught in the middle either way. For if the Captain can defy death itself, then what's to say that he won't come for us when our job is done?" She appraised Mungam and suppressed a laugh.. "I must say, ye look a like a fish out of water mate. But we can fix ya up soon enough." she chuckled, and looked over at the elf.. "And you? Are ye on board for our little venture? If he's to hire us on, we'll need to be able to work, and exist aboard ship for a time, depending on how long this takes."
Noldeme shrugs at Xamodas's question. "Don't look at me, I'm not the one wanting to go to the castle... I'm just here to help her because she offered to help me." When they pass by the bridge, she looks down, asking the group. "Hey, I think there's something down there... Probably not worth our time, but I think someone should point it out in case anyone else wanted to know..."
Chloro hills “With hope, my mother. Or at least maybe a way to get her back.” Nae nudges Noldeme “I think we should deal with your thing first. After what happened on the hill... I dunno if I’m in the right place to see my mother yet...” Nae looks at the ground ”Also this has felt one sided, I don’t want to act like my troubles are any more important than you.” Nae looks up for a moment and then blushes “Uh I mean your troubles...” Nae laughs nervously

Noldeme seems surprised at Nae's last statement and blushes a bit herself, but avoids the topic completely by talking about her objective. "Yeah... Well, if we are going to do my own thing first, Corvidae is still the same objective we need to go to... I'm looking for a place called The Cracked Lands, supposed to be dark and foggy... I'm, huh, looking for a thing there in that place."

Road to Riverport
Voldred: “Dangerous? I’ve never heard of one like that, you ever go hunting for these things before?” says Twill, seemingly more excited than wary. You recall where you heard the sound, and just barely off in the distance, you can see a faint red glow. “I’ll stay on my guard, anyway, it was pretty loud, we should hurry, best to claim whatever it is first, you see any sign of it yet? If you do, lead the way.” Slowly, the dark shadow of the tower begins to lighten up, making the red glow somewhat harder to see in the distance, you know which direction to go.
Corvidae – Castle District:
Liadon and Iam: ((Well, alright, Liadon jumped the gun a little bit on the history bit, but I can work with it, actually manages to fit in surprisingly well.))
The driver nods, scratching his chin and making a thoughtful look. “Ah, that makes a lot of sense, actually, I put in a buck to guess where the name of calling Crows and Caretakers interchangeably comes in, with them keeping watch and all.” ((Although, Liadon does know that a good deal of them are the actual owners of the houses, and are letting other nobles rent them out.)) “Say, about how much further from here? Should I just keep straight on this road, or make a turn here?”
Nothing about Iam’s passive insight seems to give off Liadon is lying. While Liadon is explaining, you seem to notice something that doesn’t match what you remember about Kenkus; You swear, you see one perched up on a roof suddenly outstretch a pair ebony wings and take glide down on a metal gate, watching your cart go by, tilting its head inquisitively.
Blackport – Shady Lamppost:
Tsahil: An elf raises a hand to answer, it seems he is the one counting out everything anyway. Your agent training kicks in slightly as you hand him your bet…a stranger, from the south, no doubt. He has aquamarine eyes, and the hilt of his blade matches; one of those mixed breeds, and a brief thought passes you of whether it was by choice, or by some kind of design. You guess the device must be his. Looking at his eyes again, you see pass the color and recognize violence- An innate danger sense kicks in, and time slows to a crawl; would he draw his blade here, in this crowd, all of them with guns at their hilt? Would he strike at the throat as you hand your bet? Was an accomplice at your back? What if-
You snap out of it as the crowd erupts into a cacophony of groans, and cheers, it seems you missed the match in your stupor. The elf you handed your bet to is already handing your winnings back in a much heftier sack, the violence gone. (your 5 gold is now 50 gold). “Very perceptive-.” He says. “-or very lucky, at least, I don’t think anyone else here could’ve known the newcomer was an adept Inclemancer. ((A fancy name for ice mage I just made up)).” You look around, the patrons are looking quite scuffed at your win, perhaps the elf is not the one you should be worried about. “Come, let’s sit elsewhere and…count your winnings out. There will be quite a lull in competition with a regular out, and besides, Isn’t best to quit while your ahead?”
Corvidae – Wagon Park -> Riverport
Zacharias: You lay on hands, Areyo looks relieved +100XP. “Woah, thanks, I needed that more than I thought. Good luck out there. And don’t forget, there’s probably someone out there who can assist you if you need it. Don’t forget about us.”
You walk for quite some time through the rolling hills. Your feet don’t even ache at first, the feeling of exhaustion is only mental, thinking about it makes your feet ache anyway-not for your own exhaustion, but for some weary traveler that must preserve. Your mind dawdles on that…for a moment, you start questioning what you’re are walking for. 2
You shake off the feeling, and focus on Connor. Your pace isn't hasty, and night is starting to fall. Yyou are the rolling countryside of outer Corvidae. Though a farming community is usually around, or at least a single homestead, but they get further and further apart the longer you go. What do you do?
Greenport – Mungam Office
The elf grimaces a bit. “Well, as much as nearly every fiber of me is against it, my empty pockets have persuaded me otherwise, and besides-“ He waves a hand and gives, and a far more impressive pirate getup is magically donned by him, illusory, or perhaps conjured. “-I have some abilities that should be very advantageous. My name is Fenhorn, by the way, but perhaps I should come up with something more…piratey.”
Mungam frowns “It’s not that bad, is it?” He looks at Sarah for reassurance. “It’s a work in progress.” She says. The bird on his shoulder, which looks less like a parrot and more like a pheasant, breaks off by the legs and falls to the floor with a thump.
Mungam continues “Yes, not even close to done, obviously…right, investigating a creditor sounds like a good lead, any idea of who we should look for, I bet there in the stack somewhere…(If you’d like just throw out a name and a description, I’ll derive something from it))
Chloro Hills:
((Those spells sound good to me, and if do any practicing, you won’t need to worry about getting burned. ))
You discuss the events at hand. “Um…” You don’t notice Vir trying to get your attention, but that’s quickly solved, as their voice get’s magically louder. “*krrk*UM, HEY, YOU GUYS SHOULD REALLY, UH, LOOK UP *krrk*…sorry.” You look, and see a Pegasus flying towards you. Could it be that same one from before? You look, and see a shining beacon from atop it, as it comes closer, you can see a woman with shrouded with armor of light, pulling back a massive longbow in your direction, an arrow of pure radiance drawn and ready to fire. However, she has not, yet, despite having ample chance to. Roll for initiative (just in case).
Corvidae – THE Crow Bar:
((Actually, I think a straight intelligence roll is good for drawing (unless you’re doing it secretly), but you should add proficiency, I’m not sure if there is a sketching tool but he does it so much you should add it anyway, unless flavor wise Dordis is practicing to get better.))
Lucy takes your bond, and forgoes punishment for the mess. “Not nearly the worst I’ve had to deal with, enjoy your stay, and no refunds!” She says again with a smile.
Dordis: The informational sketch on the device is very thorough, well labeled, and has multiple angles. ((I might sketch it out myself…)). You can see it move and glow just like you saw. The drawing of the firearm moves similarly, the smallest wisp of smoke rising from the page
Leshanna: The bullet looks as clean as the day you bought it. You know ammunition doesn’t keep forever (at the rate your going through it, it probably won’t matter), but their isn’t even the slightest sign of wear.
Now, not that anything actually happens, but if there are any specific preparations you wish to make before resting (unless there is something else you want to do, but the sun is on the horizon.) let me know.
((Also, how Dordis and Leshanna are highly logical, yet none of them think to ask for a double room!))
Voldred barely acknowledges Twill's words as he's making his way towards...whatever this is. "An ominous red glow in a dark forest. Common sense would tell you to leave it alone, move on with your life, and hope it doesn't come knocking anyway. But common sense didn't make me the man I am today. It didn't bring me here, to the foot of a tower that seems to pierce the heavens. And it sure as hell won't stop me from finding that thing!"
Voldred is not sure himself what made him angry about this situation, but he was starting to lose control over the volume of his voice, and his pace, at first slow and catious, now became an angry advance towards the disturbance.
"I will either claim that thing if it's an object, or kill it if it's a creature!" Voldred barks angrily but then stops for a moment and looks back at Twill.
"...or destroy it if it's a dangerous thing, or befriend it if it's not a hostile creature. You never know these days...anyway, Twill, watch my back while I figure out what we're dealing with."
Voldred is now calm again, and will approach the anomaly with caution, but not stealthily.

She looked at the elf and chuckled.. "Fenhorn is fine, ya don't need a pirates name to be a pirate. Piracy is... more a lifestyle. One I wouldn't choose mind you, but.. it does have it's allure. I'm Honour by the way." she said with a smirk and a flourish. "On my last ship, they called me The pale Raven. It just so happens that my tour with them ended.. A pleasure to meet you all." she nodded to Mungam and Sarah.
((As for a name and description, no name, but a description would be one that was connected with the seedier side of things, My thought was a smuggler of some sort, someone who was more avaricious and greed-filled. And whether that would be 1 person or a group, I leave to your discretion.))
Iam cocks his head sideways as he looks at the Kenku, in much the same way it is looking at those in the wagon. "Did that Kenku on the fence just fly, or at least glide? I have no information they could do that. Fascinating!" Iam will both ask and state as he too waits to find out where they are headed.

Leshanna has no other prep to do before bed. (I cannot actually recall if she bought the stuff for the find familiar ritual, or if she has cast it yet, but that is one thing she would do before bed if she has not done so already. She will summon an owl.)
As it gets to be dusk, Zacharias sets his eyes on the next homestead he can see. He walks up to the door and knocks, a pleasant smile on his lips, and waits for someone to answer the door.
"Beginner's luck, I guess", says Tsahil, following the man, as long as he doesn't lead to some kind of isolated room. "To be honest, I was more expecting him to be quick on his feet than a caster of any kind"
After finding a place to sit and ordering a drink, Tsahil waits to know what the elf wants to discuss, staying alert for any danger.

Noldeme, Nae, and Xamodas | Chloro Hill
Noldeme shrugs at Xamodas's question. "Don't look at me, I'm not the one wanting to go to the castle... I'm just here to help her because she offered to help me." When they pass by the bridge, she looks down, asking the group. "Hey, I think there's something down there... Probably not worth our time, but I think someone should point it out in case anyone else wanted to know..."

Road to Riverport

Corvidae- Castle District
Iam cocks his head sideways as he looks at the Kenku, in much the same way it is looking at those in the wagon. "Did that Kenku on the fence just fly, or at least glide? I have no information they could do that. Fascinating!" Iam will both ask and state as he too waits to find out where they are headed.

Crow bar...
(Leshanna had a room, and did not need a double, until he decided he needed to stay with her. Logically he can just sleep on the floor.)
Blackport - Shady Lamppost
"Beginner's luck, I guess", says Tsahil, following the man, as long as he doesn't lead to some kind of isolated room. "To be honest, I was more expecting him to be quick on his feet than a caster of any kind"
After finding a place to sit and ordering a drink, Tsahil waits to know what the elf wants to discuss, staying alert for any danger.
