Noldeme rubs her eyes, she doesn't look like she had a nice night of sleep, yet she shakes her head and replies. "Yeah, it was fine, I guess... Let's just have some breakfast, and then we can leave to the docks, okay?"
Dordis listens to Al and tries to sympathize with him. After a few seconds of struggling, he manages to prop Zacharias' now-lifeless body on the pony, and does his obligation to cover his body as best he can. He looks up to the stars in the sky, and says in an exhausted tone, "If it should be someone to blame, it should have been me. I could have gotten to him in time to sustain his life with my magic, alas, I was too late." Dordis sheepishly tries to exert some magical force, but he had used his reserves for the bolts of celesetial bodies. He glances over to Zacharias' body once more before saying, " You should take his horse, we should at least keep it around for his sake. While I did not know much of Zacharias, I wish to believe he had led a good life, sadly to be cut short of a mere encounter, but a good man nonetheless. I think he decided to come with you because you are of a trustworthy person, and I still believe you to be that person." He clears his throat and finally croaks out, "this might be inappropriate for the time, but what is this 'Divinity Cascade' you talk of?" He anxiously looks at his bag to see if he lost any of his belongings in the scuttle with the demon, and then relaxes himself, hoping for Al's response.

Orina nods to GrrGrrFrr. "I think I get it too. So... the first two knobs adjust the aperture to the size we want it to be." She walks carefully around the pedestal, hemming and hawing while looking at the three doors. "It's not just a decoration," she tells Hainsley. "I think it's some kind of key to open one of these doors. Or maybe even all of them, depending on what size we make the aperture out on the front."
She turns to the others, looking thoughtful. "Y'know, I think we have to open the door that's just our size. It seems like the one we'd have to pass through to get further into this dungeon. We couldn't squish into the even smaller door, and the even larger door might allow us to return to our original size... but it might also put Beau's warren in danger." She turns to GrrGrrFrr. "Let's pretend a bright light was to shine out of the aperture. Actually, let's not pretend," she says, brightening and pulling out her blanket from her pack. She touches the blanket, making it glow with her light spell, then carefully drapes it inside of the aperture, so that light is actually shining out from it now like a gigantic flashlight of sorts, with the shape of the light changing depending on how they turn the aperture-adjusting knobs. "Do you want to try fixing it so the projected light would match the middle door, the one that we'd be able to pass through right now?"
Then she studies the last two knobs, the ones they haven't touched yet. "One of these must activate the device to make it open the door. But what does the other do?" She scratches her head, clueless. "Jogs, GrrGrr, Hainsley, do you have any ideas? Once the aperture is adjusted, should we just try turning one first, then the other? Or maybe flip a coin?" As she's speaking, Orina is inspecting the last two knobs, trying to see if there's any hint as to what these two mystery knobs might do.

Mikal Terbhorn, when he was a 23yr old young man, lived in Blueport with his father and three sisters. His father managed a group of dockworkers for building and maintaining ships in Blueport. He always told Mikal that when he was old enough he wanted him to take over his job. For now Mikal was one of the dockworkers, but was not planning to step into his father's footsteps. Mikal talked to a lot of sailors in his time at the docks. He got curious in all the stories they told him, as he had never left blueport. He became curious about all the wondrous places in the world, the treasures that had to be found and dozens of beautiful women who he could make love to.
Days after his father announced that it was time to take over, he met a hooded adventurer who was a passenger on one of the boats that came in. The hooded man told him to always follow his dreams and then pressed a black and white coin in his hand that he had never seen before. It was at that moment he decided he needed to leave Blueport, he packed his stuff, which wasn’t much. Asked some captains if he could work on their ship so he could travel somewhere else in the world. He didn’t care where he was going. Hell! He even didn’t know which places were worth visiting. He just knew he had to leave. He left his father a note, with an explanation why he had to leave in the hopes that his father would accept his decision. Then he took off, on board the Foamdrinker, earning some coin as so he could buy the things he needed to start his adventure.
After 15 years on sea, some experiences richer, he said farewell to the Foamdrinker and her crew when they docked in Redport. Leaving the Foamdrinker felt harder than leaving his father and three sisters. Mikal, now 38 years old and his face rugged and shaggy from sailing the oceans, took the black and white coin from his inner pocket. Looked at it, puts the coin back in his pocket and walks towards the city, ready for adventure.
Leshanna: "Why, nothing of course, only what you wish to provide to uphold your honor. You may choose your own challenge and your own wager; I am simply intrested in seeing how skilled you are."
The driver of the cart gives a thump on the wagon to get your attention. "Could you finish up with this pissing contest quicky? People have places to be, you know." A female voice from inside the wagon speaks "Actually, I'm finding this quite amusing, no rush for me." A fair, dark skinned and curly haired woman leans out the side of the wagon window. "Hey, show that sumptous samurai what for! For Blackport! Also cause my money is on you!"
"Please" says the rider to the woman. "This is not meant to be a session of gambling, merely a-" The woman makes a rude gesture "Up yours, if I say I'm gambling, then I'm gambling! That's how it works around here!"
The Tower - Level 2:
Xamodas: You don't even walk a couple feet before seeing the danger holes. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, the traps don't seem to be magical triggered on movement, the presence of magic, creatures, or heat; at least not the one's 10 feet in front of you. You've reached a point where the abjuration magic really thickens, coating the walls, ceilings and floors. However, you are astute, it's not perfect in every place, almost like tiles. It may be possible to avoid triggering certain traps with very careful acrobatics, but one false step could become a nightmare.
Greenport:
Noldeme & Nae: You both head down and get some breakfast. It's very early, so there are little to no patrons at this hour, but a dragonborn with purpleish-pink scales and scholarly attire is tending to the hearth; Noldeme recognizes this as Ms. Finds, and she chirps as she sees you "Ah, Noldeme and, oh...Nae, I believe Hoover told me. I'm glad you didn't get out too early; I'll whip a meal up for you right away. Oh, and let me know if either of you are wanting any good reading material, I got a new book batch the other day." Ms. Finds has a penchant for books, she likes to curate, too a fault, where she's collected a good amount of donations that put a shame to the word literature; she is willing to read all of them, if only so other people don't have too, and chuck the worst of the worst into the hearth...speaking of which, it seems she has chucked a few in today, you can barely see the words on the cover of one "W~~t~~~d".
She brings you both your breakfast, and doesn't ask for any payment.
Dungeon: Trial of ???
Orina & Jogs (Bunny Battalion): Orina shines the light through the aperture to make a rectangular beam, but nothing seems to occur on the door it is shining on. If you had to make an educated guess, based on the fact that there are 4 sheets, and 4 knobs, if the top and the left knobs move the top and the left sheets, then the bottom and right knobs move the bottom and right sheets. There isn't any sort of marking or label to indicate otherwise.
Jogs inspects the doors, not spotting any sorts of traps. There are metal handles on these metal doors. A cautious pull, and it doesn't budge, but giving a cautious push on each of the doors and you can feel it give, if you pushed hard enough, it would open; however, when you push on a door, you can hear what sounds like a solid click from the other doors, and then another click from the other doors when you stop pushing on it.
"I don't you want to listen to any of my hare-brained schemes." says Hainsley "Unless I randomly pull out an explosive, I don't know if I can be much help."
Grr watches closely. "Unsure of contraption. Maybe special light? Doing it wrong?" but as Jogs goes to test the doors, Grr follows, and listens to the clicking. "One open, two lock." He gives a confident push on the door as you are pushing on one of yours, and it does not open.
Temple of Allycs
Yaw: You descend, and Rattles follows behind you. The ladder goes quite a long way (what a thrill), you are glad you can't see the bottom, or you might get sick. The smell of the sea only get's stronger as you head down, like getting a good whiff of a tidepool. You suddenly see your relection, a pool of water, as you make it to the bottom. The water goes down to your ankles. There is a dark tunnel that goes straight away from the ladder, but you think you can see very dim red light further down. Rattles splashes down next to you, and his voice echos. "Kinda was hoping for some sweet treasure, but hey, we've got plenty of time. Looks like this tunnel runs under the ocean, I wonder when the heck this thing was built? Why the heck did I have they key for this place? Well, only one way to go to find out."
Rafon's Run Settlement:
Ulrich: "I -er, that is a mystery, I suppose. The last time I saw the baron he was...he was heading down to the basement as well, not to long before the attack started. He said he wasn't feeling well, and went to fetch some water from down there."
You hear John come up the stairs. "We've found quite a few survivors in the main hall but with their injuries, they are in no condition to be moved. That things made sure they can no way to escape, but kept them alive. We can hear a horrid sloshing and crunching sound coming from the basement."
Resolve -> Corvidae:
Dordis: "He was a good man..."Al continues to have a bleak look on his face. "..,You should not know these things, but I can only hope by knowing, you will assist me in preventing it, if not for good, than for Zacharias."
"Zacharias , I, and a couple others were looking for a Warlock in the area, who had been summoning demons. At first we thought he was doing it to earn money, but there were clear signs something was off, this new demon being the most obvious. It is an attempt at a Divinity Cascade; divinity, from becoming an Aspect, and cascade, for the rapidity of the occurance due to a chain reaction. Aspects are products of a collective idea, although the methods to becoming one aren't the clearest, becoming well known for specific actions and deeds is certainly a requirement; the more people that know and believe in your deeds, the stronger and more defined an Aspect. This has a horrible reaction with itself, for if the specific thing you are pushing is the message "I am becoming stronger." and people believe it, then you will become stronger, making people believe it, making you stronger, ad nauseum.
he's spreading that message by killing innocent people. He killed Zacharias, and there was nothing I could do, but just thinking about it makes him stronger."
The Enn:
This place must surely be infinite, a kaleidoscope of chairs, table, and balconies where people are sitting. It would probably make you sick if you had a stomach right now. What must be hundreds of people are here, each of them baring grisly, dried wounds of some horrible fate. You think you can feel some marks of your own, you notice now that your armor has some pretty terrible looking holes in it. Illmater reassures you"Do not worry, though these people suffered simalir fates to you, they are not like you. They won't be going where you would go if you finished your stay here. This place is merely an interlude for the soul as it passes to the next life or the afterlife." He sits down at a nearby table. " The dead here have a lot of options, suprsingly, not all of them involve dying, but be careful who you talk too, it is best we continue our discussion Now, what first, past, present or future?"
Redport:
Mikal: This place can't help but make you feel impressed. After years of living in blueport, you thought that town was advanced, but you didn't even know the half of it. Every wagon here moves on it's own, by some magic mechanism that completely avoids you. You also can't help but feel a little out of place, there are almost no humans to speak of, you couldn't count the amount of races around on your fingers. You've heard the people here have a bad opnion of the north, but Blueport is usually an exception. You've brushed up a bit on the dialects around here, just a couple of things to keep in mind depending on who you talk to.
You are glad it is warmer here than it is with the constant breeze in the north, and being as far away from Dragon's Horn as possible is always nice. Still, even though the weather might not kill you, you can only hope to survive the culture shock. What do you do?
Corvidae:
Nessaja: Corvidae is getting busier by the day. Walking through the market square is a hectic mess, but at the same time, more and more intresting goods have been popping up all over, many of them magical, and it is always good to stick around magic places as a wizard, although maybe a quiet places can do quite some good as well. What do you do?
Orina and Jogs(Bunny Batallion) | Rabbit Warren Dungeon / Trial of ???
"'Ey 'Rina," asks Jogs, "Seems Grr thinks a different light might work. How 'bout this?" Jogs produces her torch and tinderbox and lights a natural flame, placing it near the aperture as Orina moves momentarily away. She looks for any change. Whether or not she sees one, her next move is to check the room for anything out of the ordinary.
Investigation: -1 Guidance: 4
After that, "Y'know...maybe we should just take the middle door? Unless Hainsley can think of a special bunny light that exists?"
[Post-Roll: Wow.] "By the way, there's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with this room," says Jogs, not really checking any of the stonework, flagstones, or moving from her position. That's some serious critical thinking right there.
Orina and Jogs(Bunny Batallion) | Rabbit Warren Dungeon / Trial of ???
"So each knob corresponds to a sheet," she explains to GrrGrrFrr, who at this point probably has a patient expression on his face as he waits for the ladies to catch up. When Jogs makes her suggestion, Orina nods in agreement and retrieves her shining blanket before it can go up in flames, then makes sure to step both herself as well as guide Jogs out of the range of any potential flamey surprises from the open aperture.
As they wait, Orina notices the steam nearly rising off of Jog's head as she attempts to think of something. She can't actually tell what Jogs was trying to do, though, since Jogs also seems to be in the process of picking her teeth clean rather than inspecting any of the devices or doors in the room. Feeling somewhat responsible for forcing the dragonborn into messing with technological-arcane-contraptions - something she's clearly not comfortable doing - Orina pats her friend on the shoulder a few times.
"Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best, you know? I never would have thought to just open the door," she admits readily.
Dordis looks ahead with an exhausted expression, realizing what he brought himself into. What have I gotten to? However, I could be able to find more information with the whereabouts of Soltris— he glances back at Zacharias before saying, "I—I suppose we should be moving on quickly then; If we are to learn where this warlock you speak of that's causing this." Dordis teeters on his anxiety and tries his best to compose his exterior to seem calm and focused, "We have to keep a clear mind going forward. I can stall my investigation as it seems little now compared to what you have said. We should look for the other people you mentioned that were also searching for this warlock, if not, heading to Corvidae to look for allies would be wise," Dordis looks up to the stars, getting teary-eyed in the process, " we shouldn't let Zacharias's sacrifice be for naught. " Dordis takes a sip of his water before clearing his mind, waiting for a response on what to do next.
Nae smiles brightly at the Dragonborn. “Ma’am some reading material for the road would be lovely, I’m up for most things, so whatever you suggest. And by the way, this food looks amazing thank you very much!”
Nae will then dig in thinking about the dream she had
Partway through eating Nae will ask with a mouthful of food “So Noldeme what do you know about this place we’re going”
"Very well..." Leshanna said with a glance around. She nods to a suitable difficult target to hit and glances to the man on the strange horse. "I will hit that with my rifle. If I miss, then I will give you 50 gold as my part of the deal."
Noldeme chuckles at the offer of a book and replies. "Oh, no, thank you. You know I'm not that much into books." She says just before turning to her food and starting eating it.
When Nae calls her, she looks up at the drow and chuckles again, before shaking her head thinking of her response just before she says. "I don't think I know a lot about it... Besides the fact that I need to go there because of personal business... It's seemingly close to the Tower. Oh, you're not from here, right? I just know the Tower is very important for some reason, but it's not there we're going." Noldeme pauses a second after that to see if she remembers anything else about Corvidae that might be relevant.

Temple of Allycs Yaw:
In the dark and quiet of the tunnel, I hear only Rattles' and my own breathing. The occasional drip pierces our rhythmic panting and sloshing feet as we continue toward the red light.
"I don't like the feel of this place, and I definitely don't like the smell." As we walk, I pay close attention to the walls and ceiling of this tunnel, keeping an eye out for traps or anything else interesting.

At the warning to ignore the others in the Enn, Zacharias feels the sudden desire to look around, which confuses him, for he thought once he was in the presence of his master, all earthly failings would fall away. He scowls at the table and then composes himself and looks up at Ilmater. "As I trust you to answer all of the questions filling my mind in due time, let us begin with the past."
Nae feels a cold shock through her as she once more thinks about her dream, a small tear falls from her face which she quickly wipes away. The dream terrifies her but somehow also fills her with curiosity. “Do you...” she pauses for a moment wondering if she should finish the question before continuing “Do you know somewhere that has lots of ice around here? Like massive blocks of ice if that makes sense?” Nae’s usually bubbly demeanor very clearly drops to a more serious tone, almost frightened “As well...” Nae begins a second question before decidedly putting it aside for the time “Never mind on that one just the bit about ice.” Nae looks away from a minute growing unusually quiet for her standards

Resolve -> Corvidae:

Orina and Jogs (Bunny Batallion) | Rabbit Warren Dungeon / Trial of ???
"'Ey 'Rina," asks Jogs, "Seems Grr thinks a different light might work. How 'bout this?" Jogs produces her torch and tinderbox and lights a natural flame, placing it near the aperture as Orina moves momentarily away. She looks for any change. Whether or not she sees one, her next move is to check the room for anything out of the ordinary.

Jogs opens the middle door, weapons at the ready.
Outer Corvidae
Dordis Falthenfyern
Greenport
Nae smiles brightly at the Dragonborn. “Ma’am some reading material for the road would be lovely, I’m up for most things, so whatever you suggest. And by the way, this food looks amazing thank you very much!”
Nae will then dig in thinking about the dream she had
Partway through eating Nae will ask with a mouthful of food “So Noldeme what do you know about this place we’re going”

Blackport > Corvetae...
"Very well..." Leshanna said with a glance around. She nods to a suitable difficult target to hit and glances to the man on the strange horse. "I will hit that with my rifle. If I miss, then I will give you 50 gold as my part of the deal."
Greenport:

Yaw - Genasi, Bard (3), College of Lore - Tower of Heaven
At the warning to ignore the others in the Enn, Zacharias feels the sudden desire to look around, which confuses him, for he thought once he was in the presence of his master, all earthly failings would fall away. He scowls at the table and then composes himself and looks up at Ilmater. "As I trust you to answer all of the questions filling my mind in due time, let us begin with the past."
Greenport
