MistBusters - A Curse of Strahd PbP

George continues to hear the same voice in his ear. Taunting him. Mocking him. Then, the voice changes. Suddenly, its the blonde woman’s voice. “What was that creature. It was like an animal. It should be locked up.” Then, it changes again, this time Bry, “Boy, fate must’ve really hated you...” However, George gets angrier and angrier until he swings at the air... and hits something.

The axe head lodges into an invisible form. A disgusting young woman shimmers into existence with an angry grimace across her face. That same black ichor dribbles from her side and mouth as she lets out a horrid scream. 

You all hear a horrid scream from the top of the windmill. You realize that George and the others may have found a hag. It is currently Bry’s turn.

As Bry hears the noise and runs up to see what happened, he sees the ugly and bleeding form of one of the hag’s daughters. Catching himself on his heels, Bry reels back and releases arcing bolts of electricity from his fingers, each crackling bolt reaching out like gnarled witch’s fingers toward the hag. However, she raises her hands and seems to counter the Witch Bolt with her hardened, scaled flesh. Wild magic crackles around Bry, but the magic fades before any real effect.

ELWARITH IS UP NEXT!

Elwarith follows Bry up the stairs drawing another arrow as he goes.  When he reaches the landing and sees Bry's magic go awry he takes aim on the hag and lets fly his arrow.

The arrow lodges itself in the hag’s abdomen. She recoils, but is not directly concerned with you right now. “I will avenge my mother! The coven shall not perish unpunished!” A little of that same black ichor smatters across George’s face as she’s shouting.

ADANMAR IS UP NEXT!

"Soon you'll be reunited with your mother......" Elwarith nocks another arrow....

The Revenant climbs up the stair.

"You..." he points to the younger hag "Witch *****, look at you, drooling like a snail, hit that and let us favor...die" Adanmar release another arrow while his arcane mark moves to the new prey

The hag looks up at you, with both a mixture of anger, then fear, then confusion. She gives you a perplexed look, “...What?” Before an arrow lodges itself in her shoulder. She stumbles back a little bit, visibly shocked by how badly this has turned for her.

Samudra is up next with a child in her arm and a hag with her back to her! Shall the rolling curse return or is it broken forever!? LET’S FIND OUT!

And still holding a child in one hand, a jet of flame once again springs forth from the other and Samudra lunges toward the younger hag with a roar of anger, Attack: 18 Damage: 16

The hag, despite her condition, actually catches the flaming blade. Samudra can actually smell the sizzling skin coming off the blade, but the hag seems completely unfazed by this. A horrid smile actually creeps across the monster’s face. Meanwhile, it is now Viorela’s turn! What is she up to?

Viorela also follows up the stairs. Seeing the hag and the small child before her and is going to crack her spined whip toward the monster, Attack: (24 Damage: 13). The whip cracks across the hags flesh and she lets out a hissing noise as black ichor bubbles out from the wound. Viorela stares the creature down.

The hag’s eyes dart around for a moment, thinking intently. She’s muttering to herself and then seems to have an idea as she looks to the window that Grim smashed with his escape. The grin that had crept upon her faces turns into a full-on cackling smile, “Oh, I just love an ironic twist... don’t you?” With a puff of smoke, Offilia becomes invisible... you don’t hear a crash or anything like that, you don’t even hear her land. However, she’s definitely not where she was before... However, with a Concentration check of a 5, she once again reappears on the ground floor, near where Grim is. The other hag, Offilia’s sister, is nowhere to be found. She may have done the same as her sister tried to do, or she may still be here. Regardless, it is now Grim and George’s turn!

George and Grim are up next!

George yell George vine-swinging yell.  George jump out window.  George hit miss nuisance with axe. 

The axe goes wide as the fall narrowly throws off George’s momentum and the hag ducks out of the way of the blade. There is an even mix of both frustration and panic across the monster’s face as she and her family did not expect to tousle with the mighty, albeit a bit hungry, MistBusters! It is currently Grim’s turn.
