Graxx sits and thinks to himself about the message Dornal sent. He is glad he is off fighting instead of dealing with Fey royalty. But it does sound like they got some action so good for them.
Graxx frowns... He thinks of the coming battle and how he will once again have to kill members of his own tribe. Will there be any tribe left for him to save? Maybe once he kills this dragon he can finally challenge the Chief and put his people back on the proper path.
Rhonda thanks Utar for the simple words after they bury the elf wizard and the martial artist. She then asks: "Would you now help me dig an even larger grave for Dun-Dun?" She points to the ogre.
As Graxx reflects, Neya examines the robes. She notices that they are bloody and ripped in parts. They could at a minimum use a wash.

ENCOUNTER INTERLUDE: CORRUPTED PRINCESS - FEY LORD TEAM
The path you chose winds into a small, tree-lined clearing, but it looks like something from a nightmare. A sickly-green, foul-smelling brook borders one side of the clearing, and trickles through a broken dam to flow over several trees, all of them dead, save one. The water from the brook flows close to this still-living tree's roots, but not as close as to that of the dead trees around it.
This tree, an once-mighty oak, still lives. However, its branches are bent and gnarled by thorny vines growing out of the foul waters; their thorns digging into the tree’s bark. The vines that have wound themselves around the tree are green and brown with sharp, purple leaves. Thorns dig into and scrape against the bark, and appear to be capable of sealing a good amount of pain.
These same vines bind a fey creature to the tree. She thrashes against the thorny vines that bind and gag her as thick, black liquid streams from her eyes like tears. She is tall and slender, and her skin has a pale green hue to it. The same vines that dig and twist into the oak tree have also lashed the greenish lady to its trunk, rendering her mostly immobile. Nonetheless, she continues to thrash and pull against them. Boils and weeping sores have erupted from the portions of her flesh that the thorns are digging into.
And that is not all. Small creatures can be seen in the upper limbs of the tall oak tree. Some are just squirrels, doing squirrely things. Others are more akin to moving collections of tree bark and sticks, and they are pulling out the leaves and gnawing on the branches of the oak tree.
(OOC: What are Zern, Dornal, Seranolla, Senetir, and Caah going to do?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Stepping into the clearing Seronella leans on her staff taking in the scene. After a moment's pause she steps closer and careful not to touch the vines, she tuts to herself as she circles three poor Oak tree.
After taking in the sight, Senetir slowly shook his head to the sides. "No, it will certainly not. Phough something is off. Odder than what is simply playing out before us." The Owl aarakocra at least began looking about the area in hopes of confirming there would be plenty of aerial movement to take advantage of in the inevitable event of betrayal. That, and he made darn sure to keep at least solid 15 to 20ft from the Great Oak without being among the trees.
Eventually, attention returns earthward, and upon seeing Seronella make her move, Senetir quiets curiosity and intended to wait to see the fruits of her labor. But even as he stood there, the legs remained slightly bent and wings subtly [positioned for him to take off at least into the air for a moment's notice.

”Try what you must we need to save this creature! It looks to be poisonous. In my years I’ve built up a resistance to such foul things. I can try pulling some of this vines loose. I’m sure it’ll get me a little bit in the process but we may be able to free this being.”
Zern joins Dornal in removing the thorny vines from the tree, starting by cutting them from their source in the fetid waters.
As he does, he speaks to the creature in an assuring tone, unsure that the creature will understand his words, but hopefully the intent, "Do not fret. We do not intend to harm this forest or you. In fact, we have come to free this forest of the evil that is tainting it."

ENCOUNTER INTERLUDE: CORRUPTED PRINCESS - FEY LORD TEAM
Seranolla approaches first, examining the oak tree and its surroundings. The first thing she notices is that the viscous, black liquid dripping from the greenish lady's eyes is some sort of sap. This solidifies in her mind the conviction that the princess, as well as the only remaining living tree in this clearing, have fallen to the corruption caused by Claugiyliamatar Jr. What's more, the forest gnome druid also surmises that the foul water is connected to it somehow, judging by the dead trees it is touching (OOC: recall that the brook is partially dammed by a large but damaged, broken, and fallen log, so the water is spilling onto higher ground and touching many roots.)
A suspicious Senitir keeps his distance and prepares to flap his wings in a moment's notice. Thankfully for the aarakocra, the canopy is far above the group. He judges he has about 50 feet of vertical freedom should he need it. Meanwhile, Caah simply grips her tribal warclub and remains alert.
Dornal suggest that he should try to pry the sharp vines away from the oak tree, since he has some natural resistance to whatever poison they may produce. Zern agrees and indicates that he is willing to help. Seranolla asks for a moment, so she can attempt to talk to the oak. (@MB: That is a total of 6 charges already used from her staff.)
As the druid moves her staff around, she begins to hear several voices. from atop the tree, several acute voices pierce her ear: "Eat!" "Destroy!" "Corrupt!" they say as the twig creatures nibble on the oak. The gagged princess herself lets her voice be heard in the form of whispered and tortured vocalizations. The gnome manages to catch a single word: "Water". Then, a louder and rumbling voice steals Seranolla's full attention. It roars as the oak tree begins to uproot itself. "Pain! Pain!" it says repeatedly.
NOTES: Please interpret the dam {BR-33 to BO-38} as being a log instead of fallen rock. The darkened area from {BM-37 to BP-43 to BL-45} represents the overflown water. All trees are dead.
Slowly backing away from the treant Seranolla strikes a tone that she hopes is placatory. "We aren't here to harm you brother Oak. If anything we would like to ease your burden, this vines do not look comfortable."
Stopping at BV,43 she casts faerie fire centred on the treant, because while she would like to help the treant, if it won't accept that help, she'll help put it down.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Though tempted to act, understanding in part at least some of the problem, Senitir gave the tree and its house guest a wide berth even while in the air in getting closer to examine the geography.
While some risk would no doubt be involved with the plan that initially formed in mind, the Owl Aarakocra would make certain to the best of his knowledge that violently reshaping the terrain could be done at least in some controlled but quick manner as to at least temporarily cut off the flow of water from it. The others were more than capable of keeping the creature in check... or so Senitir silently hoped and expected of them.
(Not sure what roll would be appropriate, so made it a flat intelligence roll. Apply the more appropriate modifiers as necessary)
Movement(Flying): To BP-40, and down until flying roughly 10ft above the ground.
Action: Survey Roll: 16.
(@Lerus: If Senetir would have to fly down closer to the ground, he will cast as a bonus action Expeditious Retreat to dash immediately up to the 30ft mark up from the ground and over to BR-42, or as close to it as possible.)

@MB: You may recall that Seranolla mentioned to CRAP over dinner that she could sense no treants in the forest. She called it a shame at the time, so this oak is a bit of a surprise to her.
Seranolla tries to explain that the group is here to help, but the oak treant is thrashing about in pain. The druid is not even sure the tree is listening to her. Fearing the worst, she aims a magical twinkle burst high into the tree's branches, catching it and almost all of those on it (including a few squirrels, but two twig blights hide just in time.) The princess is also caught in the spell.
(@Ori: Ten feet should be enough. No need to cast Expeditious Retreat as per your conditional comment.)
Going off the information shared by the druid, Senitir flies toward the overflowing brook to examine his options. He figures that he has a good chance of restoring the natural flow of the brook if he were to damage the fallen log enough, and he thinks that forcing the earth to erupt toward the log might just do the trick. It would do little regarding the foul water that has already spilled over onto land, but it would help prevent more of it to overflow, he concludes.
The maddened treant rushes toward the closest threats, coming close to both Zern and Dornal {BP-45 to BR-47}. A tree branch comes down toward each of them:
The tree branches are too heavy and too fast for the humanoids to avoid them. Zern raises his shield but is caught anyways. Dornal tries ducking but doesn't react quickly enough. (Zern takes 20 bludgeoning damage; Dornal takes 19 bludgeoning damage.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I have read over Dornal's abilities and if I made an error I am deeply sorry. Barbarian is easy. Monk/barb a bit more bells and whistles.
Movement: Dornal does not move and stands his ground taking a fighting stance. Dornal draws his club.
Bonus Action: Dornal will begin to rage!!
Action: Dornal raises his club and will make two strikes against the glowing treant!
Attack: 29 Damage: 12
Attack: 23 Damage: 12
Special: If an attack hits Dornal will use Stunning strike!
Stunning Strike (Special)
When you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to make the target stunned until the end of your next turn if it fails a CON saving throw (DC 14).
Not wanting to touch the corrupted tree, at least not initially, Dornal pulls up a club from his belt and swings it at the closest section of bark encrusted with black sap. The attacks hit, and small pieces of bark fly off, plugging one of the sap holes. Nonetheless, the dwarf realizes that just like when felling a regular tree, blunt tools are not the best choice. (Treant takes 10 bludgeoning damage and is stunned and incapacitated.)
Looking at her own blunt weapon, Caah drops it back into its belt loop and grabs a regular javelin instead. With a single hand (the other holds quite a large shield), she tries to flank the tree {BS-49} and launches the projectile at one of the glowing twig monsters up in its branches. She makes sure to mark her prey before releasing the flying stick, and then repeats the process with a second javelin and target.
-> Javelin vs. Twig Blight #5: Attack: 16 Damage: 12
-> Javelin vs. Twig Blight #6: Attack: 25 Damage: 10 (Hunter's Mark damage should not apply to the second target.)
-> I forgot the advantage rolls: 2318
The impact of the javelins obliterate the small plant monsters. (Twig Bligh #5 takes 12 piercing damage and is DEFEATED; Twig Bligh #6 takes 7 piercing damage and is DEFEATED.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Still crying her black tears, the Princess looks at Seranolla intently:
-> Seranolla's WIS saving throw {DC 14}: 15
Though Seranolla's instinct is to steel her mind, the druid does not sense an ill intent coming from the Princess. (@MB: Please roll an insight check.)
Up in the branches, the twig monsters continue to rip pieces of the treant. Now, they also begin to throw said pieces downward. Some of these branch and bark pieces hit Dornal, others Zern, and still others Caah, serving as a mid-fight distraction.
Graxx sits and thinks to himself about the message Dornal sent. He is glad he is off fighting instead of dealing with Fey royalty. But it does sound like they got some action so good for them.
