Coming round the corner, the young fire giant has a large, powerful dog pulling him along on a chain. <I see them, I see them! After them!> the fire giant bellows.
The big hound breaks loose from its chain, and fire belches from its open mouth.
You are now in initiative. The fiery-mouthed dog is 60 feet behind Crownsguard and Ink, and the giants trail behind it.

Each additional Dash action it takes during the chase requires the creature to succeed on a DC 10 Constitution check at the end of its turn or gain one level of exhaustion.

Ink grabs hold of the chain about Crownsguard's armblade. As Crownsguard pulls away, Ink casts grease on the ten feet in front of him and steps into it, making sure that the bottom of his boots get heavily coated.
He whispers silent prayers and tries to relax his legs best he can ready for the eventual pull from the accelerated Crownsguard.
Don waits until Ink and the dwarves speed by and begins raining down eldritch fire on the supports behind them while yelling in giantish mimicing the deep timber of a Fire Giant. "Run brothers, there are too many of them."
He then will run after the others preparing to dash next round.
Matrix will keep pace, stopping at forks and offshoots to throw a rock wrapped in some bloody fabric down the wrong tunnel in the hopes of throwing them off the scent even if for just a moment
Crownsguard and Ink overtake Don and close in with the main group. Don is now in the rear, and the hell hound is closing in under 200 feet behind him. The fire giants are taking strides to keep up. They aren't quite within attack range, but are slowly gaining on the main group.

As you run, you don't notice immediately since he is behind you but Don has stopped. He faces the hound and fires blasts from both hands. "Get the dwarves out of here, I'm right behind you!"

After he blasts he moves toward the exit, trying to stay out of the hounds range for a little while longer.
