During his watch Marav carefully sharpens his short swords, cleaning off the blood and ichor of the day. Mends small rips in his armor, chips on his weapons. He also does the same to any of the companions whose weapons or armor needs it.
He spends the rest of his watch looking toward Gwaeron's Slumber wondering about the druid area there.
The night passes uneventfully for the most part. At a point in the night, when Marav wakes Ink, Tolmara excuses herself. "I'm going upstairs. Then to bed. Hehehe!"
As she says this she pokes her head in and looks around the room. Then she withdraws and walks down the hall, peering through the keyholes of each of the rooms in succession and chucking to herself. "They said he was a snake, well I showed you a snake, didn't I? Hehehe!"
With that she climbs a ladder that must lead to the attic. You hear a door opening and then crawling closed with the *click* of a lock.
// Please advance your character to level 6. You've earned it! //
Ink mumbles to himself, "They said he was a snake, well I showed you a snake..." A pause. Hearing the crawling. "That woman is off her rocker."
// Level 6 - hooray! Finally, level 5 WIZ for some level 3 spells - sometimes I regret taking that 1st level as a fighter... should've gone WIZ the whole way. LOL //
At some point during the night, Tolmara quietly exits the attic and tiptoes to her bedroom. Passing Ink, she carefully puts her finger to her mouth and makes a shush-ing noise. She then slams her bedroom door quite forcefully. From behind the door you can hear a chuckle, "hehehe!"
A few minutes later, an awful-sounding, open-mouthed, rhythmic snoring emanates from the bedroom.
The morning is greeted by the crowing of distant roosters, and sunlight streams through the crusty windows and cracks in the walls. In the room next to yours, Tolmara still snores loudly behind her closed door.
"Quill, why don't you stretch your wings and check out what's going on outside."
Ink pokes his head in on his compatriots saying to anyone awake, "I'll be right back - going to have a look in the attic, nothing serious, but just a curiosity inspired by the proprietor of this fine establishment."
Angel wakes up feeling so much better than yesterday. He’ll do his standard morning excercise routine of meditation and some light exercise.
On his way out he’ll say to Ink
”I’m glad we’ve all made it out of yesterday alive. I’ll trust you to see Darthra to explain about everything. I’ll see Urgala about that note and location of the Giantslayer Weapon and also head back to the Lionshield Coster. I need some new clothes after that battle. There’s only so much that magic can fix.”
Climbing up the ladder to the attic, Ink finds that the wooden door is secured with a skeleton-key deadbolt lock.
Ink scurries back down to his compatriots looks in on them and says, "I know I shouldn't, but I need to know what's up there - does anyone know how to pick a lock? That crazy woman went on about snakes and someone being a snake and showing them snakes, and then went up into the attic for a rather long time before retiring to her chambers - and I'm just really curious to know what's going on up there...."
Ink finishes the statement with a smile, hoping his peers give in to his curiosity, but it's an awkward one as if he knows they'll think better of going along with that half-baked idea.
Angels an early rises so he’s probably still out training, he has a cool new fire trick, but you don’t think he’d condone going into an old ladies attic. He probably doesn’t come back until everyone else rises. Worshipper of Lathander and all rises at Dawn.
"no, that would be rude." Rip says firmly as he pulls the thieves tools out of his pack and follows Ink
"It would be rude of us not to look in on this snake problem after she so kindly let us in.......Let's hurry before Flint wakes up." Ink says with a smile.
// Lock picking: if you are proficient in thieves' tools (and have tools), then it's your proficiency bonus + DEX. //
"this lock is beyond me, oh well" with a shrug Rip will get his stuff and heads towards Foehammer's, the attic all but forgotten. he let's the others know where he is headed

"Hold up, Rip, let me try..." // Lock picking: 7 // "... note to self: learn how to use these tools."
// Also, so that you know, as a bard at level 2, if you aren't proficient in a skill, you can add 1/2 your proficiency. Not sure if that includes tools though. //
so a 6 then lol, Rip pulls the tools away from Ink defensively "Mine! get your own!" and backs away with a glare, pointing at his eyes then at Ink in the classic 'i'm watching you' move
"Fine, I'll take first watch, and you can take the next. Just want to make sure everything goes ok."
