Meanwhile, longbow shots continue to come from out of the shadows to pelt Marav, Flint, and Ink. Flint and Marav can now just make out the shapes of the three undead hunt lords, spaced out at the back end of the room, bows drawn and firing rapidly at them.
Ink, seeing the incoming arrows manages to react by casting shield, waving his hand before him the arrows are immediately batted away.
Ink enacts his bladesong, now that he senses his targets (//bonus action//).
Ink averts his eyes from the bodak using his cloak as a shield, eyes locked on the three wights he stalks forward, his blades drawing him to the wight on the far left. As he closes in on them, Ink raises his blade, the ruby flashes and the air shimmers. Starting from the floating wight in the middle, and extending to the wights on either side it seems as if the shadow and what little light there is slows and compresses around them. Curiously, Marav is unaffected.
Ink continues stalking forward his eyes shifting back to his primary target, now that his spell has been cast. He smiles in the shadows.
// DC 15 WIS save required to stave off the effects of the spell. //
Upon Ink's incantations, one of the wights looks as if about to succumb to the slothfulness of the spell, but the other (on the left) speaks a word as if to rebuke the magic (Counterspell). He grins fiendishly at Ink and launches himself towards the wizard, tossing his bow aside and brandishing a scimitar that glints in the distant light. He then speaks an Abyssal word, the rough tongue raking across Ink's ears like a paralyzing venom.
Ink, please make a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be paralyzed.
The middle wight holds his hands out towards Ink, speaking in the same grating tongue, and a pale moonbeam shines on the wizard, searing his skin.
Ink will need to make a CON saving throw at the beginning of his turn (as long as he's still in the same place), taking 11 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
The third wight welcomes Marav with open arms. Right before the half-orc can reach him, though, he disappears in a cloud of darkness and re-materializes in back of Marav, unleashing a deadly flurry of empowered unarmed attacks on the druid.
The bodak, engaged with just Flint now, focuses his withering gaze on the dwarf. "You will belong to the blood lord soon enough...but here is a gift to quicken your journey!"
Flint must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 23 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Meanwhile, Angel is battling the dwarf castellan, who took a big hit. His nose bloody, he charges in for another attack like the stubborn dwarf that he is. "I protect this castle," he says between strokes, "and you...are...not...welcome!"

Letting go of the magic to cast slow at the wights, Ink sees his match among the wights intoning a spell he recognizes and immediately counterspells it! (//reaction//) The magic emanating from the wight's hand is snuffed out and the waves of Ink's slow washes over both of the wights - their movements slowing to a crawl.
(// per PM 1217, both wights had failed their saving throws ... assuming that the wight cast a spell, please roll a d20 to determine if it occurs now (1-10) or on its next turn (11-20) //)
Can you also cast a reaction spell on your turn? You sure can! Here’s a common way for it to happen: Cornelius the wizard is casting fireball on his turn, and his foe casts counterspell on him. Cornelius has counterspell prepared, so he uses his reaction to cast it and break his foe’s counterspell before it can stop fireball.

Ink chuckles a bit as he sees the wights move in slow motion - but the words, slow as they are, still have an effect.... (// WIS Save 17 //) ... but manages to shrug off the paralyzation. Ink feels the crinkle of his skin as the moonbeam strikes him... (18).... his eyes remain fixed on the wight with the scimitar.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The moonbeam begins to burn Ink's skin (// CON Save 6 //), but he ignores its caster and continues towards the scimitar-wielding spellslinger.
// I'm assuming the wight bee-lined at Ink, which would only be 15' at half-speed, Ink's max movement is 40' so that'll leave him 5' short of the wight, so instead.... //
When he's about ten feet away from the wight, Ink raises a blade and casts fire bolt! // I'll stop there - I want him to come to me //
// Fire bolt Attack: 11 Damage: 5 //
Just a reminder regarding "slow" An affected target's speed is halved, it takes a −2 penalty to AC and Dexterity saving throws, and it can't use reactions. On its turn, it can use either an action or a bonus action, not both and it can't make more than one melee or ranged attack during its turn.
