The next morning comes earlier than some may have liked, as restful or fitful as your sleep was. Light streams in through cracks in the curtains of the rambljng Danivarr’s House, as if offering a timid greeting.
Marav and Rip awake at around the same time, to find that Ink is already studying his spellbook for the day.
Crownsguard isn’t far behind in waking, while Flint still slumbers in his bunk (he will need another two hours to benefit from a full rest, but you can of course do as you will!).
When you navigate the winding halls towards the common area, you find a full breakfast ready to eat. “Compliments of the house,” says Dral Thelev, the one-eyed half orc. “Hope you enjoyed your stay!”
Ink walks over to Rip and Marav and gives them each a small bag (2,180 gp of gems in each) saying, "Crownsguard and Flint each hace their own. Flint also has the rest of the deposit (800 gp of gems) for Tyrek." Ink then proceeds to tell them what happened last night and asks if they received word from the council.
Rip will fill Ink in as well as buy 2 horses from Dral, one for Ink and one for Marav figuring he will stay with the cart and if not he doesn't weigh that much anyway
"All right - horses from Dral, sounds good," Ink responds.
After very quickly eating his breakfast, Ink proposes, "Flint will be out for another hour and change. I need to get a very specific set of supplies before we head out. I will be back in an hour, if that. If Flint wakes up before I get back, start without me. If I see you're gone when I get back, I'll head straight to the Moonwyvern Inn meeting you there."
Ink copies down the directions to Moonwyvern Inn, just in case, and excuses himself saying, "I'll see you all soon."
Ink sees Dral about the horse and rides it over to Edmund's Curios.
// Spoiler is an if/then for Away, the DM. //
Assuming there are no issues along the way, Ink will hurriedly call for Edmund and ask for the following: Dragons: Uncommon Areas of Habitation by Tholin Thunderbane for 25 dragons,The Field of Battle by Dexion Lathrana for 25 dragons and 1,050 dragons worth of components, inks and fine paper for spellbook experimentation and scribing (21 levels of spells!!). Given the size of this purchase and their earlier purchase, he'll ask for the 10% discount and he'll ask how much the moonstone necklace is. He emphasizes that he's in kind of a hurry.
He also gives a stack of Rip's latest literary adventures and says, "I've been... asked... to give these to you so that you can sell here in your store. The author didn't tell me what he'd want as a cut, so I'm assuming whatever you sell them for you can keep. I think he's just trying to get his name out in the public, so to speak."
// Horses for riding can be purchased in town for 75 gp, and Ponies are 30 gp. Dral’s connections are able to supply as many horses/ponies/mules as you need. //
Edmund the shopkeeper, back at work early this morning, eagerly makes the sale to Ink at the agreed-upon discount. He packs the components and writing tools in a small chest for you.
// Question: what is being done with Boris the draft horse, and the cart you procured in Triboar? //
It takes an hour and change to get the horses together at the north end of town, which is about the time Flint needed to wake and have some breakfast. The road north awaits you!
Edmund the shopkeeper, back at work early this morning, eagerly makes the sale to Ink at the agreed-upon discount. He packs the components and writing tools in a small chest for you.
Ink thanks Edmund giving him 1,100 in gems asking for the 42 dragons as change. "Managed our own sale last night," Ink offers as explanation to an unasked question, "...and don't forget to push those graphic novels by Rip Dangerfield!"
Ink returns to the inn just in time to see theothers arrive with the horses. He approaches Rip and says, "I asked Edmund to stock your 'graphic novels' at his store. Given how much I just bought in spell supplies, he better push their sale."
He then takes out the moonstone necklace and presents it to Rip saying, "I also got this for you - not only does it seem fashionable (unveiled attempt at a lie), but more importantly I think you might find it's ability to display the current moon cycle amusing..." Then in a whisper, "...and practical perhaps."
Unless otherwise detained, Ink will go into the tavern to check on Flint.

“Oh yes, I heard about those. Never read them yet but I heard they are gaining in popularity!”
Edmund gives you change in silver trade bars (you can track as sp).
"Hmm. I appreciate the high praise, but I lack the attunement to nature. The closest I got to nature was during survival training with the military out in Silverymoon... But I only served as lookout as those more comfortable with the outdoors did the hunting, gathering and general navigating," Ink responds.
"Thanks, again, though."
After checking to see Flint is up and about, he'll assist in getting the horses and ponies packed and ready for travel. He'll also help Flint and Dral with getting Boris ready for either a return trip to Triboar (to the Lionshield Costner) or for long term storage here in Everlund. Ink suggests that Boris should perhaps retire and be put out to stud because that poor animal definitely deserves it given everything he's gone through yet survived.... Giants, trolls, the undead, werewolves, the list goes on.
After Flint walks away, Ink gives Dral a gem worth about 50gp (he's been using them enough lately that he's getting a hang of valuing them), and tells him, "That should cover good Boris for a very long time... And, let's be realistic, given the life we've been leading as late, we may not come back. Please make sure Boris lives out his life happy and that it's not cut short. If we come back though, Flint will be wanting Boris back."
After a breath, "Now, if you'd excuse us, we have a family to find and save."
Ink suggests that Boris should perhaps retire and be put out to stud because that poor animal definitely deserves it given everything he's gone through yet survived.... Giants, trolls, the undead, werewolves, the list goes on.
"Aye, 'e's earned it alright, stubborn as 'e is, but it'aint our call."
"Aye, 'e's earned it alright, stubborn as 'e is, but it'aint our call."
Having caught up to Flint after dealing with Dral, and hearing his comment, "Perhaps you're right, Flint. Maybe one day he'll return to Triboar - a hero of the stable."
When Ink mentions a favor, the officer brightens and reaches into his pack. "We're stationed here for the foreseeable future, so I don't suppose we'll be collecting on this bounty anytime soon," he says, handing over a poster. On the parchment is written,
WANTED ALIVE: Worvil "the Weevil" Forkbeard, for crimes against Mirabar. REWARD: 5000 gold pieces.
"Figure you can look into it. He and his band of brigands raided some caravans along the Vale last year, and word is he's likely holed up somewhere near the coast after raiding Mirabar not that long ago. With all this giant business, and goblins and orcs being more active, we can't spare the manpower to go after him. But I want to see him brought to justice!" He finishes as the lord of hold arrives.
As the party is gathered, Ink shouts, "Olostin's Hold!"
"Remember that poster of the Weevil we saw last night? After we left Tyrek's? It reminded me of something, but in all the hustle and bustle, it didn't dawn on me. The commanding officer at Olostin's Hold mentioned that this Weevil was at large. Mirabar gave this Worvil "the Weevil" Forkbeard a 5,000 gp price on his head - alive I believe."
"I'm not saying we search for him specifically, but just keep our eyes and ears open e signs of him."
