“Whoa.” Toots quickly casts Mage Armor.

"Yep, definitely an exhaust port, otherwise, don't know what the hell that was.  When I was down there it didn't feel anything out of the ordinary, not sure why or from where that blast of cold just came, I think that pudding stuff is still down there.  I dunno, frozen pudding popped? Coz?"

“Wanna try it again?”

"Sure, Toots, we can blaze from up here, let's do it again."

How much more oil?

If Toots can flame 'em on the way down, Tommary will dump two more.  He's got a lot of oil.

Toots lights it up no problemo.

As the flaming oil falls you see the mass of green fungus in an organic mound many feet high. The fire makes it erupt again in a frigid blast of wind. You can see the top of the mass in an oddly shaped column reaching towards the pipe.

“Is it just me, or is that thing growing?”

Toots casts light on one of those bronze slugs and drops it down the hole.

Elyona rests her chin in one had, furrows her brow, and taps one finger just above her lip, thinking hard about what this creature might be.

 It does indeed look much closer. The lit coin sits upon a mass of fungus/mold 30 feet high and is soon covered by a thin layer of green mold making it dim.

 Elyona wracks her brain but cannot recall any mold or fungus that behaves in this manner. Brown mold comes to mind but it is the wrong color.

“Maybe we shouldn’t use any more fire. Just a thought.”

"It's a fricken fire eatin' fungus!"  Tommary's next move was to set up the bomb but slings it back, "next time....".

 It has no visible effect.
