To Prove D&D Exists for Echolon

Toots starts cleaning Tommary and the others. “Some folks are allowed to be wrong.” Toots grumbles before going back to sleep.

The party is mostly sparkling clean except for the occasional splat of rotten remains.

Short Rest Long Rest? you guYs can choose.

After your rest, the spider bounces excitedly and starts down the passage from which the creature came, but soon takes a hop into a hole and continues traveling making sure you are keeping up. The hole is steeply slanted but with many easy handholds.

Do you follow the spider or the entrails?

OOC: I took a long rest for Toots.

Suppose we're Longin', then.  Yohkei.

The slanted hole levels off a bit but becomes very narrow. Taller folk and the spider have to turn sideways, small folks have no problem.

You also notice an increase in heat and humidity.

”You alright back there Tallboots? It’s gettin’ kinda cramped in here. You want I should turn you into somethin’ smaller?”

OOC: Due note: I'm going to be gone most of the weekend, traveling south to help the family with some winterizing stuff.  Comms will be limited.

"I'm tucked in an involuntarily moisturizing, fortunately my cardio regime* leaves me with little gut to suck in. But this heat and humidity, is anyone smelling bad breath?  Just saying, there was this reel I was watching where the heroes parked their skyship in what they thought was a hole in some sky rock ... but it turned out not to be a hole...."

*Tommary's cardio regimen is also why he has an athletics of +8 but a STR of 10, which has dampened his use of Stormwalker other than as a hovering device.

“Eww gross. How did they escape the sky rock?” As toots asks the question she prestidigitates her clothes to be cooler.

"I think the Handy guy was 'sus about their situation, so shot a bolt into the bottom of the 'cave' actually the thing's tongue, so they all hustled into their sky machine and dashed out of there, the cave/monster mouth was closing as they were dashing outta there and it was a narrow escape ...."  Tommary looks to his shoulder toward the party's cave's "mouth."  Perception 13

The passage way while it does have stalagmites and stalactites, they are not arranged in a mouth/tooth like manner. The ground is solid, and not spongy.

Toots lights up a pebble and whistles it up ahead of them to see what she can see. Perception: 18 🤞

The pebble clatters down the passage revealing walls that are seem to be covered in roots. The spider leads you forward into a chamber with thick vines covering the floor leading to many bulbous growths on the ground. The air is thick with humidity and at the other end of the cave you see a mound of stone with something  sticking out of it. Flickers of lightning or sparks flash near a silver door on a mound.

“I don’t like the looks of this place. Hold up a few minutes while I see what I can see.” Toots starts to ritually cast detect magic. "Does anyone have any ideas what those bulbs are?

"If I see a facehugger I'm leaving and you can't stop me Nah, but I never seen anything that looked like a freestanding zit what had anything worth a girl's time in it."

"Maybe this is their candy land, and those are giant cream pots?  I mean, not the best utensil, but the oyster fork would have some use here.  No? I'm the only one thinking that? Rest of you all are probably right."

 The party glows with various enchantments, the rock on the spider glows with enchantment (divination and whatever would be communication).

The spider bobs cautiously, then advances slowly into the room...

One of the pods closest to the spider quivers.

You see part of it split open.

The spider leaps back in alarm!
