To Prove D&D Exists for Echolon

OOC:  I'm fine with Wysperra's ruling.  As a DM, I would rule that illusions spells do not provide light in settings where light spells can't do so.  So I was surprised that it sounded like Elyona could still see the flames after Toots entered the darkness zone, and thus asked for clarification.  It hadn't occurred to me that Elyona could see the illusion in her mind.  I had also been considering having Elyona enter the darkness and try to attack the beast, but when Toots entered, I suddenly realized Elyona could end up hitting Toots instead.

While the encounter has been challenging for me, in part because tactics are not my strong suit and in part because Elyona doesn't have good ranged attack options, I've actually enjoyed the fact that she had some support options, and the advantage of play by post is that I have more time to think about options. 

MidnightPlat, in terms of your question, Elyona's animal handling is +4.   Don't know if that's highest or not.

Elyona also runs into the darkness. The floor becomes sticky to her feet and slows her down a bit but using Toots as a guide she lashes out with her battle axe. She cleaves into something firm and rubbery like giant slug but misses on the backswing.

OOC: I've contributed by to world building by claiming the city we're from contains vaults from time beyond that include the Reels of the Brothers Warner, so the Reels of the Mount Para (Paramount) are probably a logical extension.  Tommary is _engrossed_ by this stuff when he's not adventuring or fixing underground dueling, hence all the film references and YouTube vids.  Thanks for humoring me.  Heck maybe Kirk and Picard are revered as Demigods of Action or Reflection in the local pantheon :).  Or maybe it's like Stephen King's Darktower novels where characters from the post apocalypse know things like the lyrics to "Hey Jude."  Somehow characters in this world just get Star Trek references.
