OOC: I'm also reasonably certain satyrs don't exist in this setting.  or if they do we don't know what they are.  They weren't an option when I was building characters, anyways.

IC:
Ilyara moves back to the entrance door, keeping an eye on it and making sure the basilisk in the previous chamber doesn't turn up and cause problems.  "What do you guys think this is?  I've never seen any buildings or construction like this...so much metal, like they just didn't care about wasting it."

Satyrs may not be "real" but Satyricon makes our worlds Santacon look like a temperance gathering, these are things Tommary knows.

"Door are run off sparks, largely.  We've seen that in other parts of the dungeon, but not this concentrated.  I don't know if they build this whole undermountain, but something with sparks powers definitely seems to be trying to control it."

Tommary uses his Identify powers and announces that the party has found a gunwand.

The basilisk doesn't seem to approach the doors into the puzzle room.

"Huh!  That's a neat little party favor.  Can think 'f some fights we coulda used that sucker.  Good news is that th' lizzy critter doesn't seem t' want t' chase us.  Bad news is my nose itches but I'm afraid to scratch it.  Are we gonna try that door, or did y'lot want me to clear th' way round the other end of the corridor?"

“So who wants to use the gwand?” Asks Toots. “Who has the most need for a solid thing to hit stuff from far away?”

"I got my sling if I need'a chuck hard bits at skulls.  I ain't no bad hand with it, either.  Think it'd be best with you, actually.  Th' rest of us tend t' get stuck in with sharps, but th' fancy shooter's all magic, right?  I mean I wouldn't mind, I think it's real neat.  But speakin' strictly t' efficacy, feels like the sort'a thing you give t' someone who stands in th' back an' occasionally needs to argue th' point with someone up front, eh?"

“Well, I suppose I can hang onto it, it is cool after all. Here ya go Tommary, here are all the crossbow bolts I have. So which way next?”

OOC: Toots hands Tommary 6 normal crossbow bolts, and a fresh bundle of 20 bolts that only weigh half as much.

"I say we try the door.  If it's a room, we check it out.  If it's a corridor, we close this door and check out the bend in this corridor and weigh our options.  One thing I want to point out: this miraculous relic of a Satyr who may not belong here for many reasons but nevertheless Rodan provides is holding a brown tile, and is dead.  The sparkworks things moving the cylinders also had brown tiles.  Not sure if they're alive or dead, but we've only seen them use these tiles back where we came.  I have a white tile.  So I'm suggesting, at least right here, the brown tabs are bad, man.  So before we Altmount Speedway our way through this door, I want to give it more of a look to see if I can see if this white tile will work or just turn me into a dead inexplicable satyr."

After putting on Toots' larger cache of bolts Chewie bandolier style across his torso and the smaller allotment around his leg hot goth garter style, Tommary the Unworthy but not Necessarily Baselessly Paranoid will [Tooltip Not Found] the door to determine whether it's tile mechanism jives with the past through tile swipers he's used so far or if there's any marked differences in the mechanism that suggests the ride might be different this time around: 27

The tooltip not found was investigation poorly conjugated.

The tile slot mechanism is almost identical except for a red lit message in unknown symbols.

“Y’know, I used to know a guy with a wooden leg named smith who could read anything ever written in any language. Too bad I couldn’t ever pick that knack up.”

Elyona readily agreed to Toots taking the “gun.”  “Sometime when we have nothing better to do, I’d like to examine it more closely, but I think it makes sense for you to be the one to use it.”

Elyona is also amenable to Tommary suggestion about the way forward  

Tommary tries his tile and instead of the usual green light, there is a red light, and the door does nothing.

"Hmmm, well do we want to mess around with this door, maybe try the brown tab method?  Or do we want to see what we can get to if we go back up the corridor?"

“Try the brown card. What’s the worst that can happen?”
