I'm just want to know EVERY method to let you use your bonus action to attack. I know a handful, but there's a non-monk unarmed fighting character idea that I'm toying with, and I'd like to know every option out there so that I can compare them and see what would fit best for the character.
for Bloodhunter I feel like Cruelty mutation used to do something different, but now it provides a general bonus action attack, one of the few that’s agnostic about what weapon is used.
There are not going to be many that don't involve using a weapon or spell. But I shall give it a quick search:
Artillerist eldritch cannon
*Berserker frenzy
Storm herald storm aura
Totem warrior eagle totemic attunement
*Totem warrior tiger totemic attunement
*Valor bard battle magic
*War cleric war priest
Stars druid starry form archer
Fathomless tentacles of the deep
I didn't include any bonus actions I saw that required a weapon or required your action to be something specific. The ones with stars are options that can be unarmed strikes.
There are still plenty of good bonus actions that aren't damaging that could be used with any build.
I know I'm super late, but just for anyone searching for ways to make bonus action attacks in 2024:
While most polearm master users prefer the glaive or halberd (two-handed weapons), the spear and quarterstaff are both considered versatile (so you can wield them with one or two hands). That means that if you're a level 5 paladin, you can make two (one-handed) spear attacks with your action, and then one more attack using your bonus action, all while holding a shield in your other hand. If you're playing a build that already does lots of damage per attack (say, using hunter's mark, hex, etc.), this will shoot your DPS to the moon.

Was there something I missed in the 2024 update that allows this? I thought PAM in the new rules excluded spear or quarterstaff?

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.

The 2024 PHB Polearm Master feat only works with a weapon that has the Heavy and Reach properties, which the spear lacks,
This is incorrect. Reread PAM
Yup must have been very lost indeed as spear and quaterstaff specifically work with PAM. ;)
Oh... same error in my head... thanks, Abrollin! :D
The Unearthed Arcana during the playtest did restrict PAM to Heavy, Reach weapons, so that might be the source of confusion.
Ha thanks i forgot that would explain why.
