When I was a younger man, I was a bandit and raider until we tried to rob a cabin in the woods. The ranger living there caught me breaking in and after kicking our ass took me under his wing to make me a better man. Now I am an old man, the old ranger long dead and burried, and caring for the swarm of feathered dinosaurs that was left to me.

I grew up on tales of a Drow hero, clad in leathers, wielding two swords and with a black cat as a companion. Now I will try and follow in their footsteps and be more than I am and become a hero of the realms. If only I could recall what they did as their profession, I am sure it must be something to do with being a wizard.

* Drow Folk hero mistakingly thinking a certain famous Drow Ranger is actually a wizard and the rangers panther was actaully a cat familiar.

I kinda want to modify Arnold's backstory a bit. Sposta, this might spoil a minor thing or two if you choose to read this one, but it isn't really a big deal at all. Also, yes, I know this backstory is more than 3 sentences lol.

"There, Arnold taught himself how to hunt and track game. Soon, he became a solo adventurer, drawn to the path by glory and gold. He killed a Young Green Dragon once, and has bested a number of smaller creatures and taken their coin."

Nana Grotbags raised me and taught me how to cook and bind all manner of fun ingredients together to make lots of tasty treats and not-so-tasty suprises. I left our humble tavern, the Pixie Prick, to pursue the finest, rarest and most dangerous ingredients armed only with Nana's trusty recipe book and a bag full of tasty edibles. I am constantly amazed at what I can whip up at the side fo the road from bits and pieces I find as I travel and the various secrets Nana's book holds.

* probably a hexblooded individual using folk hero as some form of cookery/hunting background and Wizard Necromancer combined with both Chef and Posioner feats to become...The Gastromancer! Strutting around the world making tasty treats and poisons for no other reason that I really wanted to find a way to make poison vaguely useful, although it does hinge on your DM allowing you to use Bestow Curse to "weaken" a target moving them one stage down the list of Immunity to Resistance to Normal to Vulnerable to posion to make all those posion spells viable at higher levels.

Noble becoming mercenary but not for rebellion against the family or a sense of vigilante justice. I like it!

Look Mr Druid, for the record I'm genuinely grateful to be alive again and Reincarnate sure beats death. But becoming a dwarf wasn't on my goal list and nor was becoming male for that matter. I want the old me back!

I used to be a lumberjill, but that got boring. So I took my axe and hired on with a crew of adventurers. It turns out I’m better at chopping down monsters, especially when I get angry.

I was part of a traveling proforming bards, and life was good. But when I was six, we were enslaved by a king, and I ended up maring his son at 13, after my mother's tragic death. I found out I was capable of magic, was exiled, and became a adventuring bard!

Grew up looking up to my father, the ideal of heroism. Killed a hubris-filled creator of monstrous abominations. Now I hunt his creations, and those I protect call me “Hell-Shaker.”

I once ran a wagon and horse service transporting people where-ever they wanted to go, it was called the Tabaxi Taxi. Recently my wagon was set on fire and my beloved horse; Nobby,  killed by bandits leaving me destitute and alone. I need to get back in the saddle and find a new line of work, maybe I could ride Crossbow for a merchant or some adventurous group.

*Tabaxi with some background that gives you animal handlign and vehicle (land) proficiency and what ever class you like but Fighter/Cavalier might be interesting for a cowboy style of rider.

I have always liked tinkering around with little inventions, I might not be very good at it, but I have always enjoyed it. Anyway, I got tired of working in my parents’ bakery, I was good at it, but it really just wasn’t for me. So now I’ve decided to take my somewhat questionable skills as a tinkerer and make my living at that because I have to follow my passions.

I friggin hate people, but people got the coins, and I do love money. So I sing, and I dance, and I play my part as the good entertainer extraordinaire, and they fork over their purses to me. But man, killing monsters has got to be better than dealing with people, and I hear it pays well too, so now I think I’ll try adventuring and use my skills as a sorry means to an acceptable end.

I was employed by the city, our union rep failed to explain the severity of the budget issue as a result of the rising costs due to monster overpopulation and the rise in demons/fiends. I was laid off but still needed an income to take care of my elderly parents. Fighting is all I know.....

I was walking through the woods with my husband one day when we were beset by a bandit. My husband and I fought him off, but my husband was fatally wounded in the fight, and I lost my beloved. Now I’m traveling around looking for that ******* and taking on all comers along the way.
