This is more of a question for GMs in D&D beyond but I am genuinely curious if the design intended the ability to be able to phase through walls or be blocked by specific barriers just like arcane eye can be.
I can't speak on behalf of the design team as to the intent behind a spell/feature interaction. I can only go off of the printed instructions on the box.
The description does state that you can manifest it on a point of your choice, no requirement that you be able to see that point.
As a bonus action while the book is on your person, you can cause the mind to manifest as a Tiny spectral object, hovering in an unoccupied space of your choice within 60 feet of you.
It also states that your spectral mind can move through creatures, but not objects.
It can pass through creatures but not objects.
If I were to rule on this at the table, I would stick with what is expressed in the description.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” - Mark Twain - Innocents Abroad
Can't pass through objects is definitive wording - it cannot go through walls RAW. Although it is described as intangible and spectral, it's not meant to just phase through a whole dungeon to scout it. There's plenty of gray areas within this though - it's not clear exactly how big it is as Tiny covers a lot of ground, so can it fit through a keyhole? An arrow slit? Unclear.
