When i think back on it, im pretty sure we saw the last UA version of the Artificer last year in August with the book releasing in November. I feel like with the amount of content we have see so far we will get at least 2 more UA for revisions before the book is announced officially
I hope one comes out this next week, but I don't think it will be for Xanathar's 2.0. I think it's revised Psionics.
I will also point out that we are a bit uneven on subclasses now, which makes we think this Xanathar's 2.0 is going to contain a few less subclasses than what XGtE did, and then provide alternative race and class features to adapt your game differently... so still player options but less focused on subclasses. I agree, the Psionics may not find their way into this one at all. As of now the list is...
Artificer: Armorer
Barbarian: Wild Soul and Beast
Bard: Creation (Eloquence is on Mythic Odyssey)
Cleric: Twilight and Unity
Druid: Stars and WIldfire
Fighter: Rune Knight (Psi Knight or Psychic Warrior are still possible, but Psi Knight was not well received)
Monk: Astral Self and Mercy
Paladin: Watcher (Glory is in Mythic Odyssey)
Ranger: Fey Wanderer and Swarmkeeper
Rogue: Phantom (Soul Knife is still in questionable status as well)
Sorcerer: Clockwork (Aberrant Mind or Psionic Soul in question)
Warlock: Genie and Lurker in the Deep
Wizard: Scribes (Psionics apparently scrapped)
As you can see, we are at only 1-2 subclasses per class currently, depending on what they do with psionics you might only see one for half of them, so nowhere as big as XGtE.

Xanathar's was already one of the slimmest books, so I wonder what they will add to make this one larger. I'm hoping for new spells, specifically the "summon x spirit" ones.

A fool pulls the leaves. A brute chops the trunk. A sage digs the roots.
They'll possibly reprint some subclasses from the setting books. I could see the Order Cleric, Spores Druid, Eloquence Bard, Glory Paladin, Artificer subclasses, and some possible Wildemount subclasses in the book.

That would be helpful for people who play AL. From what I heard, it is nearly impossible to get to play those subclasses.

I'm sure they'll reprint the whole Artificer class, not just for AL, but for DMs and players who just want player options without having to buy a setting book.

I doubt it. I get the impression that they actively don’t want Artificers in AL. Call it one of my hunches.

I don't think they make rulings on book content based on AL, but they do have a "rule" that if you want to buy another book for 5e, the only books you have to have in order to make that book's content function in your games is the 3 core rule books.
If they're following this rule, they're not going to force people to buy the Eberron book if they print the Armorer in Xanathar's 2.0, and will likely reprint at least the base class.

I hope they don't put the psionics in Xanathar's 2. They need more revisions, a lot more revisions. I could see us getting a Psion class or multiple subclasses, or both in separate UAs.
It does make sense that Xanathar's 2 would have fewer subclasses (Xanathar's did have a few reprints, so I could see them doing that again), but add in those variant race ASIs that they talked about, maybe a reprint of the Artificer, maybe some spells/magic tattoos.
I say the UA will probably come out next Tuesday.
EDIT: They might also decide to playtest the variant racial ASIs because those really need to be good. For some reason, I just can't see them playtesting them, but I don't know why.
Im really hoping for some more feats and spell. I feel like they have really dropped the ball with spell variety for basically anyone except the wizard
clerics still only have 3 damaging cantrip options

clerics are not meant to be blasters, and those few subclasses who are meant to be blasters often get a free cantrip that can be used to deal damage
a racial feat to turn a kobold into an urd or a racial feat that can increase the potency of a grung's poison / venom would be neat (the harmful substances on an grung's skin are used both defensively and offensively, so can thus be classed both as poison or venom) an feat that gives the martial advantage feature that almost every hobgoblin stat block has would be apreciated

Yeah. I think racial feats would be great, but then they'd have to reprint those races that aren't in the PHB.
Which they could include said updates about races.
I think the updates will be more of a variant rule that lets you choose your ability scores besides the standard instead of updating every single race, but I could see them reprinting some races.

That's why I don't think they're going to reprint a ton of races. I could see Genasi, Aasimar, and some tiefling variants being reprinted (maybe Shadar-Kai and Eladrin) in the book, assuming it's planescape.

The last UA for XGtE was around May, IIRC, and the book also came out in November.

More general Feats for everyone and Racial Feats for the races in Volo's would be nice.

A new set of racial feats would be cool, especially for the races that don’t have any. I would love to play an Urd.

If they have to reprint everything anytime they make an new book, soon it would be a 800 page book with 80% of it being reprinted material lol
