Warforged for me. I play rogue a lot, and the warforged envoy's integrated tool ability is just perfect for a rogue.
So your favorite race was the UA warforged, not the official one. I really liked the warforged envoy too (though I do like the new integrated protection feature). I also miss the UA versions of the dragonmarked races and changeling.
I've always liked Half-Elf. He gets Charisma, night-vision and dexterity.
However, I've not played the races in the 5e, only the ones from AD&D, so I may grow to like Dragonborn or something else if I play long enough to try them out.

Stout Halfling. A small Dwarf-variant essentially.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
Humans. Because they're the only interesting race: if you can describe all elves as X or all dwarves as Y-- a standard we wouldn't let stand for Belgians, let alone black people, let alone all humans-- then seems obvious to me we are talking about a boring race.
I am torn between hobgoblin and gith, both have a good martial/magical feel to them. One through wizardry the other through the wisdom casters. Both make for some good jump off points for a character.
Yuan-ti Pureblood gets a close third, even if you have to deal with everyone hating you. But thank god you have magical resistance to get away from the haters.

"Where words fail, swords prevail. Where blood is spilled, my cup is filled" -Cartaphilus
"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
I really like Goblins... in game mechanics, the ability to disengage as a bonus action regardless of class is really versatile, and Fury of the Small is just a fun concept. But mostly I just like the way goblins are generally portrayed in media... they're pretty much always fun.
Another race I really enjoy but not for any real mechanical benefit are Kenku. They're extremely hard to play without either arbitrating their speech limitation or finding some reason to ignore it completely, but I find it super interesting and I've had a lot of fun the times I've played Kenku... I just don't think it's something I could keep up with for a full campaign.
Warforged for me. I play rogue a lot, and the warforged envoy's integrated tool ability is just perfect for a rogue.

What is your favorite race?
<If it didn't die the first time, you didn't kill it hard enough> and <If percussion maintenance isn't working, you didn't hit it hard enough>
My favorite race is probably the Gnome.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
Hehe that reminded me of a gnome barbarian I once played in a oneshot. 9 in strength and wielded a greatsword...fun times.
<If it didn't die the first time, you didn't kill it hard enough> and <If percussion maintenance isn't working, you didn't hit it hard enough>
If UA warforged envoy is an option, then UA warforged envoy for sure.
Of the races that made it to official books, feral winged tieflings probably tie the ERftLW warforged. Flight and +2 DEX are pretty good.
For me its a coin flip between Hill Dwarf and Variant Human.

Elf, probably wood elf. Maybe even the Aereni wood elf.
A clooooose second would be Grung. They are smoll, and feel so stupid to play as, they don't even have common.
Also known as CrafterB and DankMemer.
Here, have some homebrew classes! Subclasses to? Why not races. Feats, feats as well. I have a lot of magic items. Lastly I got monsters, fun, fun times.
Variant Human, Stout Halfling, Half-Elf.
Deep Gnome
playing since 1986
Picking a favorite race is a bit complex since Grung is currently my favorite but that could be either due to his Class or the people I play with.
Changeling would be a close second due to their ability to shapeshift.
Humans. Because they're the only interesting race: if you can describe all elves as X or all dwarves as Y-- a standard we wouldn't let stand for Belgians, let alone black people, let alone all humans-- then seems obvious to me we are talking about a boring race.
Genasi for me - Fire especially.

Half-orc. It be monster, it be man. Lots of RP flavor.
Grung are second...even though some here think they cant wall crawl.

My favorite are high elves since they got an extra cantrip.
