I'm trying to add the great weapon fighting style to a homebrew subclass, but there doesn't seem to be anything related to rerolling in the options for modifiers. Anyone know how this works or if there is an existing subclass with GWF I can make a temporary copy of for reference?
There isn’t a way to get it to work, I’m pretty sure the official one doesn’t do anything. In the Champion subclass, the style doesn’t have any modifiers associated with it last time I checked.
There is no mechanical function for that. It’s just plain text and the players have to remember for themselves, even for all of the official Fighters and Paladins etc.
You can customize the weapon. Add a -5 To Hit and +10 to Damage Bonus. Might not be a bad idea to add a 2nd copy of the weapon to your inventory (zero out the weight), and customize it with those changes and name it GWM Weapon, that way you can roll either way.
Even if there was a modifier for it, the Dice Roller isn’t anywhere near capable of actually doing it. The Encounter Builder is in Beta. The Combat Tracker is still in Alpha, and the dice roller is newer than that.
I saw this thread and I'm in the early tests of building a whole class into the sub class feature, while not ideal, does seem doable, given classes like Cleric and Warlock pick Specs at level 1, makes this ideal.
The reason I'm writing this is from some testing of Great Weapon fighting and trying to implement it, I found that it's actually the Beyond20 app that forces the re-roll of 1s and 2s from the Great Weapon Fighting, so this is what I intended to look into next, if anyone has any further advice or help, would be much appreciated.
For those attempting the same as me, don't give up, it does seem entirely doable, if not extremely difficult.
I think my only suggestion would be to add pre-build level features that could be swapped in and out in a modular fashion, taking Fighting style for example, instead of building it from scratch
Edit - I wanted to add I have been cloning other sub classes and taking them apart as well, luckily enough Champion fighter, grants an additional fighting style, so you can clone this and edit to see how it's put together, it's a long process, but at least it's repeatable.

that's a shame, but thanks anyway.

They're talking about the fighting style Great Weapon Fighting (reroll 1s & 2s), not the Great Weapon Master feat.

Does anyone know if there are any improvements on this... seems the same that re-rolls are not captured by the app or the dice roll mechanism...
If there had been an improvement, you wouldn’t have to ask because it would be working.
