When making a Monk subclass (or any subclass I guess for that matter) there is an entry for “spells” where one can enter a spell and way down toward the bottom there are spots for “minimum” and “maximum charges.” My question being, what are these “charges” meant to represent? Charges like a magic item, or like Ki/Sorcery points or something else entirely? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
Someone please take pity on my ignorance. I realize that I am missing something in my understanding. Either there’s a game mechanic I am not remembering/understanding correctly, or I am just not understanding the relationship between the game rules and how the DDB builder represents them.
I think its for Ki/Sorcery points and Magic item charges. Basically if you can spend X resource to cast at one level, and then X+Y for additional levels / effects.
Thanks Houligan. I eventually figured it out, but I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. Maybe the next person with that same question will see your answer and save themselves some head scratching. Much obliged!
