Hi All! I created a homebrew subclass of the hexblade, however when I try to use the class it seems to lose it's hex weapon feature and won't let me add my charisma to damage or to hit. Any advice?

Moved from Bugs & Support to Homebrew & House Rules
If you add a feature at 1st level with the name “Hex Warrior” it will grant the checkbox. The additional proficiencies typically included with that subclass feature have to be added individually using modifiers.

I hope this was helpful.
So the name of the feature determines if the ability appears or not?

Does this work the same with kensei?
It might, I haven’t checked that one. It works for “Spellcasting.”

Does everything else related to the feature have to be the same as the official subclass? It doesn't seem to work for me

That checkbox is probably directly tied to the official hexblade subclass, so there is not an easy solution.
The easiest would be for anyone who uses it to use a Custom Action for their hex weapon.

Edit: The Hex Warrior
No, everything else as part of that feature (the proficiencies) have to be added separately using Modifiers.
