Question: How do you make good villains or evil characters for the Tavern? So far, both of mine (Axiterounys and Jovan) have failed, with Jovan being a very sympathetic, not very villain, who’s really ended up morally dubious LN, and Axiterounys being irrelevant and too powercreeped to make a villain, and little better as an evil (read: jerk) character.

Well... Whats your reason to want one? I feel like to make a good villain they have to connect somehow. They actually have to do something in the tavern.

I think Jovan could still make a really good villain. The fact that he's well liked will help him with that and make his villainness more jarring. You just have to find a way to betray everyone with him.

Thanks! I think there are two main things. First, you have to make them powerful enough to be a challenge, while not being completely overpowered. And second, something about their motives has to directly influence the tavern in a negative way.

That's sort of Calius' signature manipulation. He makes people think they've uncovered some dark secret about him, so they stop searching for the real secret.
