Gandalf is actually a statblock, and Sauron is, too. Gandalf is probably around CR 17, and Sauron is closer to 26 or so.
If Sauron is CR 26, what would be the CR for Morgoth?

Yep. He's way cooler in the movies. Although I think he was cooler in LotR than in The Hobbit. He took down a Mûmakil. It's one of my favorite scenes.

Alright. Bolg is a glorified orc, in your sense anyway. That's also literally what he is. A glorified orc. I'm just saying that killing Bolg and saying it's a bigger feat than killing an enormous-war elephant is the equivalent of saying that killing a Hobgoblin Warlord is a greater feat than killing a Roc or that sort of thing. It doesn't add up. Yeah, the fight scene with Bolg was probably better, but if we're talking about actual logistics and not theatrics- the Mûmakil is the winner.

I think Bolg is a bit more than a beefed up war chief, seeing how he gave Legolas a nosebleed with only unarmed strikes (according to the rules, to show blood, he's got to be at least half hit points or fewer, and from speculation, he's probably got over a hundred hit points). So, yeah, Bolg's tough. What I was actually trying to say is that Bolg is probably a bigger deal. He's one of Sauron's champions, and the general of one of the biggest armies in Middle Earth. Leggy's gonna get better press from that than killing a random war machine.

Again, logistically speaking, I'm pretty sure that if I hit you hard enough in the nose, you'd be bleeding too- regardless of how much HP you have. Those rules are for like if you've been stabbing at something for a while- and I also think it's kinda weird, because if I stab you, you're gonna bleed regardless, so I think the rule refers to major bleeding. Like you stabbed it enough that if ran away, you could track it's blood trail. If Bolg was really that powerful- then why was Azog in charge? And if you make the claim of "Oh, well Azog is stronger and smarter" then why didn't he just kill Thorin and his nephews off right away? (The answer to that is Plot Armor, but you know what I mean) Bolg could just two-punch everything- he doesn't need a menacing mace. Just some morgul knuckles would do. Bolg really is just a glorified war chief with some higher stats and better weapons and armor.

Well, let's put Bolg in a pit fight against a Mûmakil. End result, Bolg get's squashed because he's all Strength and no Dexterity. Some champion of Sauron- again, if he's so powerful then why isn't he the BEBG? So he's a champion of Sauron, right? So...slightly better stats, slightly better weapons and armor with maybe an extra ability or gift given by Sauron. I think Leggy (or whatever the hell you're gonna call him XD) would get better press for killing something like Mûmakil. Bolg is just another orc with a slightly smaller mortality rate- which is what all "Champions of Sauron" really are lol.

You're right. I was just saying, the general conditions in which Legolas killed Bolg made it harder to do so then to kill the Mumakil. The Mumakil wasn't even attacking him. It was much harder for Legolas to kill Bolg than it was for him to kill the Mumakil, so I would consider it a greater feat.

When it comes to pronouns I prefer Variks-Senpai (But I'm a dude. Pronouns are weird.)

The theatrics with Bolg's fight was definitely better than the Mûmakil's but in the end, I'd rather hire someone who can kill a war-machine than killing an orc with a cliché title.

Also, before I leave for the day, what would it take for me to become an "LotR expert" or an Elf?

Thanks for this awesome debate lol! I've never been able to nerd out like this in a while and it feels nice to know that I can be appreciated for it. Again, this place makes me pretty freakin' happy!

EDIT: I typed this before seeing your other comments. See ya tomorrow!
