He said something about making them variants of [monster]animated armor[/spell] that will fight back, deactivate after taking so much damage, and self-repair so that they'll be ready to go again after 10 minutes. Also something about a variant for spellcasters to duel. It's 2,000GP, but I already paid the first half. He wants the other 1000GP when it's done."

It shouldn't cause any permanent damage to the sword, even the enchantments, unless it is made OF magic. As soon as the sword leaves the field, it should return to function as normal. I'm hoping that it will sever the swords connection to whatever... entity seems to be controlling it.

I... I'm sorry. Deep breaths. Sorry. It just surprised me to see it here. But, unfortunately, the bindings that keeps those glass shards from coming apart is entirely magic. I would know; I made them.

Ahhhh... Do you think a targeted dispel magic may work? I think I can modify it to target only the magical bond the sword seems to have to whatever is controlling it.

I... would rather not take that risk, but if you are confident, I bow to your experience, Elder.

In alternative, so we don't risk harming one so dear to you, we can try to capture a more... common swords from the swarm, and attempt the Antimagic Field experiment on it. I am fairly confident in my abilities with Dispel Magic, but not nearly confident enough to try it on that particular sword.

NO! If that sword were to... I mean, no thank you. That sword is extraordinarily important to me. If possible, I need to bring it back to my world intact.

It shouldn't cause any permanent damage to the sword, even the enchantments, unless it is made OF magic. As soon as the sword leaves the field, it should return to function as normal. I'm hoping that it will sever the swords connection to whatever... entity seems to be controlling it.

I... I'm sorry. Deep breaths. Sorry. It just surprised me to see it here. But, unfortunately, the bindings that keeps those glass shards from coming apart is entirely magic. I would know; I made them.

Ahhhh... Do you think a targeted dispel magic may work? I think I can modify it to target only the magical bond the sword seems to have to whatever is controlling it.

I... would rather not take that risk, but if you are confident, I bow to your experience, Elder.

In alternative, so we don't risk harming one so dear to you, we can try to capture a more... common swords from the swarm, and attempt the Antimagic Field experiment on it. I am fairly confident in my abilities with Dispel Magic, but not nearly confident enough to try it on that particular sword.
