*I'm currently on page 21 of reading all of this.*
With a sort of pop, an air genasi appears in the street, clad in leather armor that has been dyed a deep, navy blue. Two shortswords are hanging from either side of his waist, the handles and hilts made of a strange metal, with a muted, silvery kind of color. He also carries a longbow, along with a quiver full of arrows.
"Um, what?" He says in surprise, his right hand straying towards one of his shortswords. He scans the area.
Not too far away, you spy a trifling clad in dark clothes and a black leather coat talking to some kind of humanoid otter in a bathrobe and slippers. In the distance, the faint shadow of another person can be seen behind a dumpster, watching this unfold.
Noticing you appear into existence, the trifling turns to you, sighing. "Let me guess, you're new too?"
"It would appear... so." He blinks once, processes everything he knows so far (not that much), and sighs. "Mind telling me where I am?"
"Welcome to Konton: Or more precisely, welcome to City 78. If I were you, I'd try and find a safe place to hunker down until morning. This place hasn't been that kind to anyone as of late."
He frowns. "Thanks for the warning. And, uh, do you know of such a place, a safe one? Or should I leave this city? Or is it even more dangerous to leave?" Then he frowns again. "Sorry, too many questions."
"Hey, don't worry, pal. Down that alley there's a place called Starhoppers. Or, there was... Anyway, you should be able to find your bearings there." He points down the back alley that the shadowy figure is watching from.
"Thanks, I have a feeling I'll be owing you a favor, or something, for this." He heads down the alley, and watches the figure cautiously (If he can see them).
After a while of watching them, D climbs back up the building the jumped off of and retreats into the night.
The passageways of the space between buildings is a winding maze... *Make a Survival Check*
You manage to find a small brick building squeezed between two others. A rusty sign on the floor next to the entrance reads 'Starhoppers'. The sounds of chatter and loud music can be heard from inside.
"Safe enough for me," and he walks in.
The building itself is filled with people of all different races and lines of work, all of whom you presume are either not from here, or just regulars here for their typical cup of joe. A photo of a smiling old man hangs on the back wall, a plaque underneath reading 'In loving memory of Gerry 'the Merry' Gilvander'. A band (the drummer of which is literally made of fire) is playing on a little stage against the back wall, and a sign above them reads 'Arson of the Heart'. An old kenku sits on a stool behind the bar, serving drinks.
On one wall, a flyer has multiple different knives stuck into it, pinning it to the wall.
The genasi studies the flyer, then will go up to the bar.
'Property of Hyde Co.'
'This area has been purchased by Hyde Co. for continued expansion. Please vacate the area within a 3-day time window to clear the way for demolition. Failure to vacate is punishable by a 500 platinum fine and up to 10 years in prison. Thank you for your compliance.'
"Hyde Co.?" He just turns away from it. They can tell me that themselves, if they want me to leave. He thinks to himself.
He strolls up to the bar, and smiles at the kenku, but doesn't say anything besides, "An ale, please."

...and started me on my way into my next chapter in life...
As you and the man with the book cruise around on the sweeper's back, it eventually leaves the abandoned district, and heads into a much more lively city.
The sidewalks are crowded with people, and the streets are constantly buzzing with traffic. Numerous neon signs hang from every available surface, and the buildings themselves are made of concrete and smooth steel plating. The roads are not bare asphalt, but painted with intricate patterns and stunning mosaics. Welcome to City 74: The Prismatic District.
But the street sweeper continues through this, towards a tower of twisting steel that looms in the distance. The Hyde Co. logo is proudly displayed at the skyscraper's top.
The leonin stands there with his arms crossed, simply waiting.
The sweeper continues towards the building, which seems to grow more imposing as you approach it. Eventually, you see a chain-link fence with razor wire across its top, spanning the entirety of a large perimeter around the building. A sort of gatehouse lies just ahead, with another robot inside.
The leonin walks to the front half of the sweeper, ready to jump off when he can.
The sweeper grinds to a halt in front of the gate, and the whir of machinery comes from the gatehouse as spikes emerge from the ground mere inches away from the sweeper. The robot in the gatehouse steps outside, staring directly at you and the other man.

Speaking of all the people crowding the sidewalks, they seem a little startled, but not outright afraid.
The gargoyle skims above the crowd, looking for robots of a similar design to Elsenova.
You see one driving a street sweeper, which is headed towards an enormous skyscraper in the distance.
The gargoyle begins flying above the sweeper towards the scraper.
