My lunch is about to end... so figured I'd throw down another Question...
QotD: We discussed where your profile avatar image came from, but is there a story behind your user name, and if so, want to share the story?
Before I was born, my brother tried to get my parents to name me "Thor." I combined that with my last name. Been using it for various things for around 15 years.
WHY ON EARTH DID THEY CHANGE HIS NAME TO Max Eisenhardt?!?!??!
The old name wasn’t Jewish. Took a few minutes to dig for.
It was roughly equivalent to naming a Spaniard ‘Bob Xiaolin’. Given they also nearly made him Roma at one point (using the slur for it) as part of the whole nightmare around Wanda and Piotr (with the wundagore/high evolutionary stuff), while the name is “less cool”, it works better.
…
‘not that I know anything about comic books, I mean. Nope, not me. What’s a mutant?

It was my old gamer tag. I used to play online PvP FPSs and wanted something “dangerous.” So I thought about it and “sposta” was the most dangerous word I could think of. (How many times has it gotten people in trouble after all?) Only Sposta was already taken, so I added “I am” to the beginning, kindofa tongue in cheek way of saying “I am dangerous.” (And depending on the game I was too. Not so much on Halo, but come see me in a Space Marine lobby [if there still are any]. 😂😂)

Mine has probably been mentioned on this thread before. Amnon Balderk was my first D&D character! He was a fantastic tiefling sorcerer who found his way to a dwarves stronghold and spent many young years there, and his love of dwarven arts lead him to multiclass into artificer!

Yeah, the entire fiasco of Wanda and Piotr being tied as Magneto's kids, or not, or Lorna Dane is or isn't, is a tremendous nightmare.
Side note - hard to deny knowing (Marvel) comics at least, when you and I have talked about Marvel FASERIP. lol

Amnon_Balderk mentioned that his name is based on his first character and since my first character recently came up in a turbulent UA thread, he has has been on my mind a lot.
To everyone: What are some great moments from the first character that you ever played?
I'll start. My first character was named Arkros, a burned out tiefling entertainer who at the peak of his career had been performing for dignitaries at fancy parties, living the high life. Just before the campaign had started he had fallen from grace and was now struggling to get work in local taverns for a few coppers and maybe a booth to sleep in at closing. Some bad choices led him into a headspace where he was perfect for someone to come along and promise to get him sobered up, fix his mangled hand (a consequence of being unable to pay some gambling debts) so he could play instruments just like before, and give him a little extra to make all the wrongs in his life right again. All this mysterious figured asked for in return was a few small favors.
The great moment for him was when we came upon an overturned merchant cart. The party have stealthed our way to it, but Arkros had never been in any kind of situation like that and when everyone else wanted to sneak in, Arkros broke stealth and called out to see if everyone was okay. Queue the ambush of arrows that came from bandits that had been hiding out, waiting for exactly that kind of buffoon to come along. I was the only one who broke stealth, so I was the target.
This was the exact outcome I had been hoping for anyway. A person who maybe had power he shouldn't and who couldn't recognize trouble when maybe he should.
If you had to choose JUST ONE - which would you say describes why you play D&D...
Love the social aspect of it. The RP and rolling dice are side effects. Mostly just like hanging out.
I love rolling dice. I love the chance of it all. RP and social are just effects. Vegas, here I come!
I love to RP. I love the chance of stepping outside of who I am. Rolling dice and non-RP social is just a side effect.
I am almost always the Dungeon Master. But I love weaving new stories. RP, rolling dice, and social is a side effect. Mostly want my victims - I mean - players - to go through what I came up with.
I am almost always the Dungeon Master and I love the ability to RP a bunch of different characters. Story, social, dice are all side effects.
I am almost always the Dungeon Master and I love rolling dice. I love creating challenging adventures. Doesn't need to be heavy story, just a challenge for my players so they can roll a bunch of dice and so do I.
I realize there's some that are a mix to probably better describe you - but wanted to stick with the above for a reason.
For bonus fun - since there's 6 up there, use the d6 in the forum to see what the forum hands you!
