If anything, we are playing more. But, let's be realistic for a second. How would getting together with a group of your friends going to dramatically increase your risk of contracting Coronavirus over the strangers you meet day to day at your job? If you're that worried about it, chances are we aren't the type to be friends anyway. For now, we don't have a mandatory quarantine, so until such a time, simply enjoy life. Of course, wash hands, don't double dip in salsa jar, and cancel or postpone session when players are sick. That's just common courtesy that has always been in place.
However, just because a bunch of grown adults with no common sense are losing their minds and getting into legit fist fights over packages of soft tissue paper marketed for the specific purpose of aiding in the removal of fecal matter from one's bunghulio....I see no reason to give into the fear and panic of the sheeple and NOT enjoy time with my friends doing what we all enjoy.
I say we all continue to get together and play. If you've been exposed to COVID-19 aka Coronavirus aka the Kung Flu then I would say it's your choice to either go play or stay home. But you should definitely tell your friends/party members that you have been exposed. Now if you actually have it and it's been confirmed by the doctors then you should stay home and not spread it around. Also what is the conversion of Gold to Toilet paper (in game) would it be two Platinum =1 roll

At least you don't have much risk spreading it to your clientele, should you get exposed.
As far as toilet paper goes in game, guess I always just assumed everyone dunked their tush in a flowing stream or used a stick with rough bark for those difficult wiping situations. lol
I've cancelled all D&D plans for the next month and a half at least, just to be cautious. We're also trying to set up doing it online, either here or Discord until things die down.
I know a lot of people in America don't think it is that big of a deal, especially because it normally effects the elderly and people with other conditions (asthma, diabetes, so on), but it is easily transmitted through people who don't get many symptoms of it, which then can cause the deaths of others.
I don't want to put anyone at risk, so I am taking on the responsibility of doing all that I can to protect those that live in my city as much as I can by locking down as much as possible.

Coronavirus is both a much bigger deal than the average american (in my region at least) thinks it is. It is also a not as big of a deal as a lot of the people who've been freaking out about it think it is.
Coronavirus will most likely not affect you that much unless you are one of the following categories:
Over the age of 60.
Have another health condition, such as; Asthma, Heart Disease, Diabetes.
You smoke regularly.
These are the main categories of people that will be affected the most by Coronavirus. The amount of people who get Coronavirus and die is very small in younger age groups. For all the teenagers on this website, you will most likely not die or have major symptoms from Coronavirus. For all the middle-aged to older people on this website, you will still most likely be fine. Between the ages of 40-59, if you catch Coronavirus, there is between a .40% - 1.3% chance of death.
Even among the older age groups, 60-100, the chances of death from Coronavirus are higher, but still survivable. The main problem is the lack of enough ventilators in hospitals. This will cause many deaths, and those who receive the ventilators are the younger patients with no underlying health conditions that would affect the chances of surviving Coronavirus.
For those of us who aren't in the at risk age group, we still have to be cautious, stay home if you can, shop less, leave the house less, interact with other humans less. This will slow down the spread of Coronavirus, making there be less people needing medical care at once, letting doctors have more time to treat those with CV-19, and thus raising the survival rate of the disease.
This is why I canceled D&D for the next several weeks, and why I'm going to start doing D&D online with my current groups.
#FlattenTheCurve
Good luck to all of you. Please assist others as we try to limit the amount that CV-19 spreads across the world.

From infection to negative swab (meaning no detectable viral load in system) is 20 days. The virus can survive up to at least 3 days on surfaces. Infection manifests within 24hrs of exposure. Depending on response type, response time, health factors and other variables, it has a mortality rate from anywhere as low as 0.5% (5 x higher than flu) to 5%.
Most infected individuals do not manifest symptoms but do remain carriers throughout their infected window. Whilst it predominantly kills those with weaker immune systems like the elderly, it can and has killed young and generally healthy people.
If you really think about the above information then you’ll begin to understand why it is that not taking this seriously is incredibly selfish and dangerous.

Exactly, we need to cancel as much real social contact as possible to save more lives. If you ignore it, and say, "It won't affect me, so I can still do D&D", that is not only ignorant, but extremely selfish, and detrimental to those in need in this time of crisis.

I'm just saying if we are good enough to be forced to interact with hundreds of people per day at our day to day jobs, despite the supposed "panic" on the populous, then I don't see how getting together with a few friends for some fun is going to make an iota of difference. If society can keep moving forward, so can we. That's not selfish. It's just realistic.

To be fair, a lot of big companies are encouraging employees to work from home. Some offices are even closing.
My group ended up playing this weekend, but I think we regretted getting together. We have canceled our games going forward with no expectation of playing in-person anytime soon.
We are also getting educated on VTT's to see if that's worth using.

That 0.5% was from South Korea’s response. It looks like, as more data comes in as the virus runs its course, that the figure is rising with the last figure I saw at 0.7%. It’s thought that it will eventually settle at over 1%. And that was with a massive, rapid and highly organised, science-based response.
In South Korea, they had drive-thru Coronavirus testing, so they tested that a lot of people had Coronavirus, but their mortality rate is super low compared to other countries, because of the people who have it, but don't show symptoms.

At least two large gaming stores in the Twin Cities have closed off their open play areas for at least the end of March. I expect most of the others to follow suit.
I have cancelled my next session with my old HS buddies, and am looking at VTT to keep playing.
My local game shop had 2 weekly sessions going that brought them good business, but now both DMs quit. The owner was asking anyone if they wanted to fill the role, then he said that he is at risk of going out of business due to all of this.
I'm half tempted to DM for him, but I know it would be irresponsible of me if I did. It just really sucks for all these small businesses that probably won't make it through all this.
Think about all of the vendors that make their livings traveling around the country from convention to convention. Gaming Conventions, Fiber shows, craft shows, Comic conventions, SciFi, Movie conventions, pet shows, gun shows, farm shows, car shows, gardening shows, music festivals, sporting events, outdoors equipment conventions....
There will be a sharp uptick of homelessness over the next 3-12 months. 🙁

Unfortunately, yes, small businesses will suffer whilst big businesses will be bailed out.
