All hail the great and mighty platypus.
Resisting is simply standing in front of the tide and pushing at it. Even if you endure at first, you will eventually break down. Adapting, by contrast, is turning into a fish.

Is there canon on this? Culinary uses of monsters? (I mean, other than cave fisher)

Tritons are traditionally used in many recipes, and taste kinda like salmon. Merfolk are fancy and have a more delicate flavor, and locathah are meatier and scrumptious grilled. Sahuagin tastes like shark of course, and kuo-toa is an uncommon dish, and an acquired taste to say the least, but well cooked it’s a great choice.
If anybody is wondering, the reason there are inconsistencies is because races taste different based on the world.

Because they are seafood. Other than river/lake triton, on some worlds. They taste less salty but mostly the same as the ocean variety.

I’m still not sure why there’s any debate. Halflings are the best fed and best cooks, so naturally they’re delicious.
