Since the statistic works like this, we are looking for one combination of 4d8 among all combinations of 8x8x8x8 = 4096 or 1/4096 = 0.024414%

Which just happens to be rate for shiny pokemon.

Because we are all committed to this game and this thread, may I suggest that we begin allowing people to roll more than once per post? Maybe just two rolls per posts, to start. As we approach increasingly steeper and rarer odds, I would love to see how far and fast we can reach higher max dice pools, and instead of resetting and starting back at 1d4, I'd love to see this thread blow up with excitement.

Hello people of the "High Roller Society", I've pinged Bounces and noticed his last response is from 2023. Without calling for a coup, I'd like to ask if we can vote on updating the rules to be more observant of the decreased chances that we are observing, now that the chances of success have declined in the order of 1 to 3500. My proposal is a revision of Bounces original rules.

Original Rules set by Bounces

1. You must use the forum's in-built dice roller.
2. One roll per post. No rolling more than once per post and no posting without rolling.
3. No multiposting. You must wait until someone else has had a turn before you post again.

Proposed Rules Revision

1. You must use the forum's in-built dice roller. (no changes here)
2. One roll per post, per 3500 possible outcomes, rounded up. ex. 8x8x8x8 = 4096 will allow two rolls per post, 10x10x10x10 = 10000 will allow four rolls per post.
3. No multiposting. You must wait until someone else has had a turn before you post again. (no changes here)
