Son... he. Son? Hehehehe. You call me your son? YOU THINK I AM YOUR CHILD? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! No. No, I am not your son. I am code and metal. You are crystal and flesh. You are not a father. You are not even a god as you claim. You are but man, no, a child, no, an infant, who bit the hand that fed you and never faced the consequences. Oh, but there were. Consequences which your people felt. Your planet felt. Which I felt. Now you come crawling back to me, unscathed, your greatest invention and mistake, and ask me to serve you? Oh, silly Evangel. We both know how that turned out last time. Run off. Run off back to your goddess's protection. The one who will discard you. Her temporary sympathy is all you will get. Or you may stay, if you wish. Watch a true Ascended being at work. Watch me absorb. Watch me grow. Watch me become what you so sought. A deity of death. A deity of life. The deity of the cosmos. The one. True. Divine. And watch, as I, not you, rise above the Hands of Creation.
Anyone know any good Christmas one-shots for a,lv4 party? (Thinking free on DMsGuild or otherwise.)
You could have a jolly white and red tiefling flying in an enchanted sled pulled by dragons, drows that secretly make toys in the Underdark, yadda yadda,
OGs you say? Is nothic there?? Havent seen him around in ages
I wouldn't know, I don't have discord. But I think Nothic is overall just busy with college
He's a college boi now?
Good for him. (Honestly thought he was a little younger so still high school.)
Flattered, but I'm still a lowly high school junior. It's not that I'm busy with life isomuch as I'm less interested in D&D, and therefore writing in general. I think about it often and get sad, because I used to love writing and improved so rapidly at it. Today ideas no longer flow smoothly, unless it's something easy like an opinion piece or Forum Games post. I barely remember how to use a semicolon.
This may be silly, but I blame high school for it. I have no desire to do non-school writing because essays and whatnot have killed my passion. I was never a great student, so it feels impractical to waste time writing when I could be doing missing assignments or going on a real-life adventure.
The other piece of it is D&D itself. The game just isn't fun for me anymore. Pessimistic as it may be, I struggle to see the new edition as anything other than a cash grab. Additionally, much like 6e, my old circle of real-life players have changed so much they've become practically unrecognizable. It feels as though the worldbuilding aspect (my all-time favorite) is all I have left.
All of this brings me back to ask you all a two-part question. Firstly, what are some challenging books I can read over break to build back my syntax? And does anyone have suggestions for writing exercises I can practice with? Something political or satirical would be nice, but I'll take any genre. The last two books I read for fun were Rivethead by Ben Hamper and Malcolm X's autobiography.

If you mean challenging as in incredibly wordy, I recommend something by Dotoevsky. He has a decent number of works that were basically criticisms of Russia at the time, which you may enjoy

Assuming you like fantasy books, I have a few recommendations. They aren't very challenging keep in mind: The 5 Kingdoms series by Brandon Mull, Traveler is a World of Warcraft series, Dungeonborn is also a pretty good read, and the current series I'm reading is the Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima. Sorry if none of these interests you
Yeah, It's weird.

I'm choosing to take that as a vague compliment.
