it is a thing- the more we have the pollution, the faster the world heats up- also, the periods of heating and cooling take thousands or even millions of years- not just "50 years: ice is lowering a lot'

To me, I feel like focusing on global warming is counter-productive. In part because there's been predictions of doom that keep not coming to fruition. (So it ends up being boy that cried wolf.)
Instead what would be more beneficial is focusing on things that aren't as prone to debate in the community. If a factory puts chemicals in the water, that's something to take care of. Loss of natural habitat is undisputable. So focusing efforts on those (though there are also debates as to human benefit vs conservation) would be more productive I imagine.

… there’s a reason for everything. That’s like saying “Death is normal” when someone is murdererd. Yes, we heat up and cool down, but we are causing it at an extreme rate, and by the time we cool down we will be dead.
I would happily set some of this climate change nonsense straight, but a public thread isn’t the best place to do so.
I recommend doing your own research. Find and verify reputable sources. Ignore your politicians and instead look to impartial scientists and historians. The thing you’ll find will likely scare you into a new mindset.

While it is normal for the Earth to go through a long cycle of heating and cooling, the temperatures have been gradually increasing more and deceasing less, and it is starting to heat up faster than normal.
It should be noted that the Earth is still technically in an ice age, because there's permanent ice at the poles.
