I'm not the best at creating strong builds, so I'm hesitant.
I'm making a wizard/sorcerer/warlock multiclass that can deal over 400 damage with magic missile, multiple times in a row.
That sounds crazy, and awesome.
I've always been the more of a thematics kind of player in my group, most of the others I play with go heavier into optimization. They have created a lot of really good characters.

The interesting thing about the throwdowns is that it isn't often optimization that wins; its the way you present it. Having a powerful build is great, but I feel like more often better write-ups win more than better builds.

I miscalculated the damage. It's 515 damage, to one creature, in one round. If the creature has immunity to fire damage, you can do 420 damage in one turn.

Hi, just wanted to tell you, over at 500 ways to die in D&D, they got 500. Here’s a list of the ways to die, and then Waterdeep: Dragon Ball (the google translated nonsense version).
Resisting is simply standing in front of the tide and pushing at it. Even if you endure at first, you will eventually break down. Adapting, by contrast, is turning into a fish.

That's a nice amount of damage.

(try saying that really fast.)
I don't get the reference. . .
(It is a lot of damage, though. And mostly repeatable.)
