That would make sense, also maybe something similar to devil deals? Like where you both agree on something (like you make a deal with a lycanthropy curse and become a werewolf, and in exchange you infect others using the curses’ bite instead of it turning you into another curse. In this world, werewolves can’t spread lycanthropy without the help of an actual lycanthropy curse, until they turn into one)
