Fifteen men on a dead man's chest—Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! Drink and the devil had done for the rest—Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!
terribly sorry, it seems I have just watched POTC: Dead man’s chest.
i wanna use Davy Jones as a D&D villain soooo bad
(oh also I can only write in bold for some reason)
I love that movie. Haven’t seen it in ages.
I just rediscovered pirates of the Caribbean, having only watched the first movie before. My favorite scene was probably either the, “Do you fear death?” Scene, or the Liar’s dice scene.
I think Davy Jones is such an incredible visual character design. I agree that he would make an amazing D&D villain.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).

The CGI for Davy Jones is SOOO GOOD LIKE ITS THE MOST CONVINCING CGI THING I HAVE SVER SEEN (That is obviously CGI)
I’ve got something like that planned in the future. Not necessarily on the Barnacle itself, but tied into some major world events.
Which reminds me. It’s, uh, plot-twist time.

Ooh plot twist.
oh and also if the Larva does ascend, it’s gonna have an avatar or two to interact with people in the world, one of which may not be a ghostly ship in a similar vein to the Flying Dutchman.

Ah yes, my favorite other nautical tale I’ve been meaning to incorporate. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
I also wanna add an inventor character similar to Captain Nemo to the Barnacle (about halfway through the book). Whether he’ll be with the crew or against them remains to be seen.

Ooh Captain Nemo inventor character? Nice. I would give suggestions but I might accidentally spoil some of the book.
oh and also next time the ship travels somewhere I might want to a bit of an encounter which could be interesting considering most of the crew’s opinions about the larva: you know how I mentioned I wanted it to be a bit of like a sort of well known sea monster? Some people have come to try and kill it.

That’s a fantastic idea, and it just so happens that the ship is departing right now :D
Hi all, I'm Druid_Girl31, but please call me Druid. I am (a/an) CERTIFIED INSOMNIAC, PAN, alterhuman,BADDD DM, and obsessed with HAMILTON! Why? I'm just cool like that!
Probably my favorite homebrew-showcase thread out there. There’s even a King in Yellow statblock and a “Wizard of the Coast” statblock with an “OGL 1.1” reaction.
Imagine Davy Jones on the bloody barnacle… most epic crossover ever.

Yeah, and it’s so cool to see how they did it behind the scenes. Look it up sometime if you’re bored.
It’s crazy that this movie is now ~20 years old, and the CGI still looks better than all the slop Marvel keep throwing at us.

I was thinking about framing Nemo 2.0 as more of an apothecary character, so it’s not a complete copy & paste.

Now I simply need to use Davy Jones somewhere.

Here’s something that’s sorta related: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/124900-apocrypha-the-bestiary-of-gods-and-legends

Oh, I’ve seen that king in Yellow statblock. It’s actually the one I use for my character the Prince In Yellow (the King uses a separate statblock)
now, I feel like doing some ship combat… with Davy jones…
it just sounds fun.
Ooooh, cool cool.
I really wanna play in a nautical PBP now.
