This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DM (Fairly experienced with D&D, first attempt at PBP) Looking for 4-6 players (Preferably within the GMT time zone) for running the ‘Lost Mine of Phandelver’ campaign with some extra bits added in. Once the campaign is finished, everyone will be given the option to move on to some home-brew or possibly another campaign if all goes well. Hopefully starting on the morning of Sunday 17th at 10:00 GMT if there is enough interest. Looking for a fairly high amount of role-playing with a tactical mind for combat. Apologies in advance for the amount of text, but if you’re not prepared to read through this then PBP probably isn’t the right option for you.
All official content apart from Unearthed Arcana is accepted.
Characters will start at level 1
Character advancement will be done through XP.
Ability scores with the point buy system.
The use of Feats are available but only when you are given the option between feats and ability score improvement.
Starting equipment is the Equipment option. Not Gold.
Negative actions against other party members (attacking, stealing from) do come with consequences. It might seem fun at the time but not so fun when the whole party turns on you.
Please send me a private message with the following details:

Try and find out as much about the other characters in your party as the game goes on. There may be rewards along the way for character interaction.
Bad language is accepted but if you can think of other words that could be used then use them. If you think that there is no other word that your character would use then that’s fine.

(OOC - .......)
Roll what you think is necessary. I will let you know if I require something else.
Example:
Greylor
Greylor sits on the bench, looking down at his empty tankard (I could do with another one) He stands up and makes his way over to the barmaid, his newly acquired coins, jingling in his coin purse, he slams his tankard down and calls out “I’ll have another pint of your finest” He takes out a single gold piece, smiles at her and places it down on the bar “Keep the change” He makes his way back to his seat and begins to watch the people come and go, looking for anyone that catches his eye or seems unusual in this tavern.
Perception - 22
(OOC - Did the barmaid seem interested or not?)
Combat
When combat begins, I will roll initiative for each character + respective modifiers to save time. I will also post a battle map that will look similar to the following:
At the end of each round or when I see fit, I will post an updated battle map with character movements displayed.
Combat Format
Character Name
Action: Weapon/spell name - Bandit 2 To Hit: or DC roll to beat
Damage:
Bonus Action:
Interaction:
Movement: Grid Reference
Reaction:
Any additional flourish, speech or (Thoughts)
The above can be used in whichever order you see fit, with movement being used more than once if required. You can also add (optional) to your order if there is a question as to whether you hit or not.
Example:
Claura
Movement: 3F
Action: Handaxe - Bandit 2 To Hit: 13
Damage: 5
Bonus Action: Handaxe - Bandit 2 To Hit: 4

(Optional) Movement: 3D
Claura stands up from her seat, a hand axe in each hand (These scumbags think they can come in here and start shaking the place up? They’ve got another thing coming!) She runs towards the hooded figure and yells “You want some? Here it comes!” She takes a swing with both axes from above, striking downwards towards both his arms.
(OOC - If she doesn’t kill the bandit, Claura will stand her ground. If she kills him, she will move to defend her allies)
You’ve each been in Neverwinter for some time, some of you have heard whispers of a small, fairly low paid job opportunity that is being revealed by a dwarf by the name of Gundren Rockseeker at The Tap-room Tavernthis very evening (The first day of the second ten-day of Kythorn) Some of you however, are making your way to the tavern for your own reasons.
As the darkness of the evening begins to set in around the city and a fine layer of mist spreads its way around the streets, you make your way to The Tap-room to see what is in store for you.
As you enter, the warm air and the combined smell of freshly poured ale, smoking tobacco and sweat hit you. It is a very small, dimly lit room with a long bar to your left as you walk in and a small archway with a couple of steps down to it is on the far wall. A few small tables are positioned around the room and six stools sit in front of the bar. What appears to be a tall half Orc sits on one of the stools nursing a ceramic tankard, watching, waiting and drinking. A small Halfling man with a long wooden pipe in his mouth sits opposite an old, grey haired human male at one of the small tables with candle light lighting their faces and cards down on the table as they play a game. The barmaid, a red haired dwarven woman stands behind the bar on some sort of raised platform for ease and four large pouring taps line the bar.
(OOC - Give a brief description of your characters appearance and your actions as you enter the Tavern)
A short half elven woman with platinum blonde hair tied into a bun enters the tavern as she stuffs a dark cloak into her bag. Despite her small frame, a keen eye would be able to tell that shes stronger than one would expect her to be. Her silver eyes immediately scan the room upon entering, as though looking for someone. Her white and blue dress drags across the floor slightly as she heads towards the bar and takes a seat. Once again, she looks around ("I wonder if he's here yet...") and calls the barmaid over. "Um, excuse me. I was just wondering if someone by the name of Gundren Rockseeker is here?" She fiddles with the blue scarf around her neck as she waits for an answer.
As the barmaid is cleaning a couple of handled glasses, she looks up and says “Mr Rockseeker hasn’t arrived yet. Would you like a drink while you wait?”
She looks over at the half elven woman and says with a smile “What will you have? We’ve got a few specials on today. There’s Post Horn, a premium pale ale. Nomad, an all night stout. Dudda’s Tun, a medium cider and Glyndŵr, a golden ale”
The barmaid takes a wooden tankard and fills it with another drink as she passes it to the half Orc. The Orc grumbles and passes her some silver as she returns to you.
“All drinks are 2 silver pieces but the Glyndŵr is 3 silver. If you want my recommendation then I’d personally go for the Dudda’s Tun”
As she says this, the halfling plays his hand of cards. The old man digs in to his coin purse and pulls out a gold piece before begrudgingly placing it on the table.
"Oh! Then I'll take your recommendation. One Dudda's Tun, please." Lilith takes a gold coin out of her coin purse and places it on the bar. "Sorry, I've only gold coins."
The barmaid smiles “Great choice, it’s a quiet night tonight. It must be all of this mist. Where have you come from?” She pours a light coloured cider and passes it to you along with 8 silver pieces.
Lilith takes a sips of the cider. "Oh, I come from a town called Banesteppe. It's pretty far from here, so you've probably never heard of it. I usually travel around a lot so I haven't been home in a while actually. What about you? We're you born in Neverwinter?"
The barmaid stops what she’s doing and thinks for a second or two. “Banesteppe… Banesteppe… No, I can’t say it rings a bell. Yes, I was born here, barely ever left. My mother owned this place before me and I’ve had it for about five years now. It’s not a busy place but we get our regulars. Mr Rockseeker normally does his business in the back room there” she points over to the archway on the back wall “I don’t know what his latest venture is but he seems quite excited about it”
The half Orc lets out a grunt and a chuckle “Ha, don’t get hopes up. Gundren always have ideas. Not too bright” he says in a deep, broken voice as he finishes his drink and tips it upside down to see if there is any more inside.
The barmaid pours the Orc another drink, passes it to him and whispers to you “Don’t listen to him love. He’s had a few too many tonight. He’s just grouchy because the last of Mr Rockseekers plans didn’t go as well as he’d hoped”
The half Orc sits up slightly on his stool. “Said we’d find treasure. We rode for five days. Entered cave. Killed creatures. Almost lost eye” You see him point to a large scar on his face “At the end of cave, all we found was stupid map. Came home”
The Orc looks at you in a puzzled way “Treasure map? Don’t know. Gorag can’t read” He takes another drink and looks like he’s thinking about something but can’t quite put it all together.
