Posted Mar 2, 2019That happened in a game I played. Only problem was that the DM houseruled that if the monster was 1/8 CR or lower he could have two of them. He changed his mind after a single session.

Posted Oct 6, 2019The druid in my party uses conjure animals and has 8 of these things working for her at the same time. Its a nightmare for the DM. They tore a lightly wounded Black Pudding to shreds with their poison attacks.

Posted Dec 6, 2019You could get one anyway if you worked for the Zhentarim. At least in waterdeep, the zhents use them as messengers. You could repurpose it easily with like a dc 15 wisdom (animal handling) check.

Posted Feb 7, 2020They're great as beastmaster companions, druid summons and familiars (if allowed by your DM).
My DM let me pick my summons as a shepherd druid. Now many of the encounters he throws at us involves something casting fireball.

Posted Jun 30, 2020I honestly think this creature may be the most OP beast in the whole game. The Druid in my party is STILL using them and she is level 10 now. Last weekend 6 of these completely wrecked two manticores with their poison attacks. Granted both were under the influence of hypnotic pattern but recovered after being hit. Each one was taken down in short order by these aerial jack hammers. They most definately should NOT be challenge rating 1/8. Please let the gods of WotC hear my plea !!
