Wanted to update the Alchemist subclass from the newest sourcebook. I made my changes and saw that I couldn't post it due to some unclear error:
This homebrew Subclass has data mapped to it that is licensed content or private homebrew. This typically occurs when licensed or private homebrew spells are linked to the Subclass.
Now I've removed any links on my subclass that would be licensed content but I'm still getting the error. I can't think of any other reason as to why I keep getting it. I purchased the Alchemist subclass on D&D Beyond but not the entire source book. Would I need to purchase the whole thing in order to post it?
The entire Artificer class and all of its subclasses are in E:RftLW. That entire book is paid-for only content on DDB. You can only publish content that does not contain anything locked behind the paywall. It’s the same as if you try to publish a subclass that has a feature that allows them to cast a spell from Xanathar’s Guide.
Hey ya'll,

Are you trying to modify an existing subclass, and do you want it to be public or private homebrew?

Yup, modifying the existing alchemist subclass in RftLW, and would like for it to be made public.

Depends how much you modify, see the Homebrew Guidelines
What you are tying to do probably falls afoul of those guidelines and would need to stay as private homebrew.
For starters, it can't be called Alchemist and it can't include any spells outside of the Basic Rules (SRD).
If you are just changing one ability, that would not be enough to be considered a significant change.
