Hello - I have noticed on PBP games that replies and posts to the thread aren’t being marked as new messages, there is quite a delay, hours or more sometimes. Is this a know issue, was there a recent change?
Not only that, but waayyy early this morning when using my phone it listed nothing new for over 4 hours, I plugged it in and switched to my tablet and there were 30 be notifications from within that same 4 hour window. 🤷♂️
Same here. I had no notifications, went and watched an episode of Flash, came back and had several notifications all from up to 6 hours ago, for posts I've read and responded to.
And other weird behaviours, I described here. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. It's getting worse and really annoying now. Especially since there's a new behaviour of getting no notifications at all days later even though there's been multiple new responses. When it's only an hour or two it's fine, but several hours to sometimes days? Yeah, it's getting aggravating now.

Yeah, I have been seeing this too for the past few days. Currently my newest notification is showing as from 11 hours ago, but there have been several new posts in threads I am subscribed to which are newer than this.
My theory, without knowing the codebase, would be that there is a runner which queries for new activity, sorted in chronological order, but with a limit to the number of records, and then provides notifications from these results. This limit is set too low, meaning it is falling further behind on each run.
It was working wonderfully, until very recently. It's started again for the last hour or two.
For example I just now got a notification for Mnemosyne posting in his thread about the banner/survey for "an hour ago". Even though it was the first post of that thread and the only other post is my own, which I made half an hour ago.
I didn't get a notification for this thread, yet, I can see new responses as it was on the forum front page.
So it was working. Now it's back to the delays again.

Actually, yeah. It was working, but right now I don't have any notifications less than an hour old and there are definitely new posts that I was able to find manually.

yep. same here. I am subscribed to the tales of adventurers tavern thread, so I have notifs constantly. I think the issue is that for people who keep getting new notifs, the problem just comes back.

Thanks -
I've seen similar reports, and my own notifications have been delayed recently.

Same. My notifications are about 3 hours slow. I'll even get notifications for posts that occurred before I subscribed to the thread.
Yep, same. It's been happening for a few days now, and it's really annoying.

🤔 I wonder if whatever is causing this was somehow also related to a different bug I reported right around the same time….

Thanks for the heads up folks - I've passed this along to the dev team.
Just throwing in a +1 that I'm getting this issue as well, getting updates on posts from 11 hours ago but nothing more recent.
