Honestly. How can this be a difficult feature to implement. It should also be fairly highly prioritized, as it represents a simple, but very fundamental method in the entire DNDBeyond framework.
All calculations, damage, healing etc, should parse through the same class, which should allow for an arbitrary amount of modifications so it supports both official and homebrew content.
Also, to further elaborate on this. I strongly hope that behind the scenes, official and homebrew content is the same in code structure, just marked differently, but all using the same framework and functions.
So that's enough armchair developer from me. I don't know your reality behind the scenes, but I am surprised how long it takes you to move on things that in my world should be fairly simple stuff.
Checked one of my life clerics today. Looks like they just implemented it.

I just used a Life Domain Cleric as a template for a new Homebrew and can confirm that there is a new Modifier Subtype that never existed before attached to the Disciple of Life feature now. It does appear to be implemented.
It it something I can retroactively apply to my existing Life Domain homebrew (which is now tweaked enough that I can't just redo my character sheet with the now-working Life Domain)? Or is it still magic-backend-hidden?

From what I could tell, it was a new modifier subtype:
Modifier: Bonus->Subtype: Spell Group Healing
But we cannot access that subtype. It looks however that if you used this as the template for a new version of yours and then added your other changes you could get the best of both worlds.
Gotcha. I'll have to review what my other tweaks are and see if it's going to be a big hassle or if I should just wait and see if they release it (relatively) soon and do it then. Life Fertility Cleric's not actually doing a lot of healing right now.

I'm really glad this update was applied, but I'm not sure it's working correctly. Cure Wounds heals for 1d8 + mod at 1st level and scales up with another 1d8/level when upcast. The Disciple of Life feature adds another 2 hp + 1/level of casting. I have a level 10 Life Cleric (modifier +6), and here's what happens when I cast Cure Wounds at 1st level:
That 31 is shown as 5d8 + 13. It should be 5d8+6, so where is the extra 7 coming from?
Those extra numbers (3 at 1st level, 7 at 5th level) correspond to the Disciple of Life bonus (2 + 1/level). It appears that the bonus is being applied to the roll itself and then a second time.

It sounds like it's working correctly. The extra 3 and the 7 are the disciple of life feature.
"Whenever you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore HP, the creature regains additional HP equal to 2 + the spell’s level."
At first level: 2 + first level spell = 3
At fifth level: 2 + fifth level spell = 7
You said your modifier is 6, which gives you 3+6 = 9 and 6+7 = 13
I'm not seeing it when I test... are you using Beyond20 or such instead of the DDB character sheet? They may have been compensating for the missing Disciple of Life points.

Okay, I think I see what you're saying now. I can't find where it outputs the way that you appear to copy/pasting from. When I look at the one on my character sheet it looks like the output is correct. Can you give us more info about where on the site you're getting those numbers from?
I see the healing spells get love for the Life Cleric and I very much appreciate it. However, spells like Aid, & Revivify, do not get the love. As per RAW the Disciple of Life states "Also starting at 1st level, your healing spells are more effective. Whenever you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore hit points to a creature, the creature regains additional hit points equal to 2 + the spell’s level." But spells that grant HP but are not direct "Heal" spells do not get this in D&D Beyond. Is there plans to extent this feature to these kind of spells?

That’s an interesting point. I don’t consider aid or revivify to be healing spells (they don’t say anything about healing in their descriptions or even “regain” like other healing spells) and I believe all healing spells are evocation (aid is abjuration and revivify is necromancy)... that being said it does say “whenever you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore hit points to a creature...” One could argue aid isn’t “restoring” hp, but revivify definitely does. Not sure what RAW would be here, I’m guessing no, but I think I would allow it as a DM.
Solved! It was a Roll20 issue. There's a toggle on Life Clerics to activate the Disciple of Life feature, and that was duplicating the bonus. Once I switched that off, it resolved the issue.

Hi there,
I discussed this and the specific spells that receive the bonus in the Changelog entry.
The rules have specific wording, which defines which spells are affected by this feature - they are listed on that changelog entry.
We present the rules, and their effects, as they are written (RAW).

Fair enough, thanks for your input. I appreciate it, didn't think about it from the spell school side.
