I made a small change in the character sheet. But when I try to export it to PDF the changes don't appear. I tried logging out and back in but no change. Plus I've now downloaded the pdf about 5-6 times but still no change. Ended up creating a whole new character to finally get the correct PDF. Why is this a thing? Am I doing anything wrong?

Even if using the website you'll run into this issue. You may have heard that when editing homebrew it'll take up to 20-30 minutes for changes to propagate through the system before showing up on character sheets. Same thing for printing your character sheet to PDF. If you make changes, you'll sometimes have to wait 20-30 minutes for them to show up on the PDF.
You’re not doing anything wrong. If you’re updating the character sheet on the website it takes about 20 minutes to filter through before you can print the PDF. If you’re using the app it won’t update the PDF until the following day.
