One thing that would be super cool for the monsters, especially to support homebrew stuff, would be the ability to sort or filter monsters by setting. I know it's not terribly useful right now, but if I wanted to create a Dark Sun game or something like that it'd be nice to have.
We have been getting loads of feedback, and we are so thrilled! All feedback (whether it be that you already love it, or that you think something is lacking) is super helpful!
To help us organize feedback as well, so we don't get a lot of the same threads, we are going to make a few Mega-Threads!
This one will be focused on the Monsters Listing!
When flipping through the MM, one of the first things I look for is the alignment of the monster to determine where and when to use it. The alignments aren't listed here. Everything else is fantastic, though!
It was nice to just pop open the app and have the info I need to see a monster, but as was said a link to the spells etc. wouldn't be bad. And maps will we see MAPS or map making tools. Thanks though for a all in all nice app.
Great job! I used the monster compendium for a game last week. I had it up on my iPad during play. It was great not to have a pile of books in front of me.
One thing I ran into was while I was running a coven of night hags, I couldn't find how to bring up the special rules for a coven of Hags. I had the three types of Hags up but couldn't find a overall description of Hags . I'm sure there are other creatures that have general listings like demons, devils and dragon (oh my)..
Hey I feel the aberrations filter is a little lacking. It's only one page. I'm pretty sure there are more aberrations than that. Also when I specifically looked for a Beholder ( D&D staple monster) It said that I failed my investigation check.
I think if you gave the option to list the monsters like this so that way you could have an easy to reference custom list of monsters that the DM chose for each battle, it would make the battles a lot smoother and faster. Then, if you click on a card more detailed information would pop up about that monster. Not that you need to do it exactly like this, but basically, a custom list that is easily created, changed and viewed. Attractive always helps.

Hi Knightly2u,
Currently the compendium is limited to monsters that appear in the SRD (whilst we're in beta), so WotC copyrighted creatures, such as beholder aren't in there.

Roughly once per page in this thread, an admin brings up that only SRD content is available for now, because of these questions. This beta would be a lot more convenient if the MM content that most of us take for granted were here (If only to prevent these posts from cluttering things, as many don't know what the SRD is), but that's betas.
Also, it appears that the Gray Ooze may have stolen the Gelatinous Cube's art... and now monster pages are no longer loading correctly for me at all...
I have seen a couple of threads wishing for clickable spells in the monster descriptions. Or pop up boxes with the spell info. The same for other relevant information that is needed to run the monster without searching in multiple places. Special abilities, magic items. This would be great, and it seems this mega-thread is the right place to ask for it.
I came here to post this exactly. The most annoying thing for me as a DM right now is having to memorize all the spells so when I have an NPC or monster spellcaster I don't have to look up each spell that he or she uses. This would add a huge amount of value to the current tool.

Just wanted to point out that the Ogre has a passive Perception of 8, not 10.

The giant centipede should also have a passive Perception of 8, not 10.
