Hi all. Is there a way to keep additions to spell notes and customisations of spell names (or any customisations, for that matter). I add spell descriptions to all my spells in the "notes" section of each individual spell, but when I'm playing a prepared caster, if I unprepare a spell and then later re-prepare it, all of the customisations are lost.
I'd love if there was a way for this to be saved so I don't have to copy+paste them from a separate word doc every time I take a long rest! Thanks :)

Feels like a pretty intense piece of work to make homebrew variants for each of the literally dozens of spells I'm juggling to prepare and unprepare for each of my characters, to be honest
The custom system is not tailored to different classes and came after the spell system. When unprepared the spell is no longer on your character and not stored anywhere, so customisations go with it.
Ad hoc spell customisations are meant to be temporary.
If you need permanent spell customisation use the spell homebrew system - that's what it's there for. You can just copy the spell, make your changes and save it. Then just use that in future.
They aren't going to rework the customisation and spell systems (a massive amount of effort) just to give you a slightly different way of doing something you can already do.
Permanent spell customisation already exists.

Make it a homebrew spell. Use that instead.

I want to bump this. I'm having this problem right now and its extremely frustrating. Whats the point of the customizations if they dont even stick?
