Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The sworn bond with your patron has been broken. Perhaps you chose to sever the connection yourself, choosing to steer your path away from your former benefactor. Maybe they deserted you after you opposed their goals, wishes or commands. Or else, you may have simply awoken to find their presence gone; with no more whispers in your mind, and no more power to call upon. In any case, your story continues, patronless.

You find you still have some semblance of eldritch magic in your body from which you can draw upon. Neither innate, like a sorcerer, or learned, like a wizard. Nonetheless, its presence is undoubtable. From where do you find this power in your moment of eldritch solidity? Whether from the echoes of your former patron, your conscience, or the very fabric of magic itself, your strength grows, itching to be unleashed.

Expanded Spell List

You can choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

2nd   alter self, silence
3rd   bestow curse, tiny hut
4th   confusion, resilient sphere
5th   dispel evil and good, legend lore

Strength in Solitude

1st-level Abandoned feature

If you switch to this subclass from another Warlock subclass at higher than first level, you retain your current hit dice, hit points, core proficiencies, proficiency bonus and ability score improvements/feats, but lose all other Warlock features, including your subclass features, spell slots, spells known, eldritch invocations, and your pact boon. You regain and reselect these levelled features (including Abandoned subclass features) at a rate of one level per day (until you reach your current Warlock level), as you learn to harness your power as a patronless Warlock. Once you reach your level cap in this way, you gain the Eldritch Adept feat, as you find mastery in your newfound abilities.

If you selected this subclass at first level, you instead gain proficiency in either the investigation or survival skill, as you learn to navigate the world without an eldritch patron. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this skill.

Strength in Solitude (Additional Proficiency - Investigation)

You gain proficiency in the investigation skill, and your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this skill.

Strength in Solitude (Additional Proficiency - Survival)

You gain proficiency in the survival skill, and your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this skill.

Strength in Solitude (Eldritch Adept)

Once you reach your level cap, you gain the Eldritch Adept feat.

Eldritch Abjuration

1st-level Abandoned feature

Your eldritch magic lingers after you cast a spell, anticipating retaliation or rejection. Once before the end of your next turn after casting a Warlock spell using a Warlock spell slot, you can use your reaction when you are hit by an attack or you fail a saving throw to gain a +2 bonus to your AC against that attack or a +4 bonus to that saving throw.

Abandoned Resistance

6th-level Abandoned feature

Your connection with your former patron remains severed. However, you have learned how to better protect yourself from their powers, should they seek retribution or vengeance. You gain resistance to radiant damage (if your patron was good), necrotic damage (if your patron was evil), or force damage (if your patron was neutral).

Speak to your DM about an alternative damage type to gain resistance to, if appropriate.

Resistance - Force

You gain resistance to force damage.

Resistance - Necrotic

You gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Resistance - Radiant

You gain resistance to radiant damage.

Eldritch Reflection

10th-level Abandoned feature

If, when using your Eldritch Abjuration feature, you cause an attack to miss or pass a saving throw, you can attempt to reflect the incoming damage or effect back at the attacker.

If you cause an attack to miss, you can cause that attack to hit the attacker instead if their AC is equal to or less than the number they rolled for the attack.

If you cause a saving throw to pass, you can force the attacker to make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. If the save fails, the attacker is also subjected to the effect of the spell, as if you were the caster. Whether they save or fail, you still take the effects of a passed saving throw, if any.

Echoes of Power

14th-level Abandoned feature

Though severed, your body recalls the eldritch power which you my have been offered by your patron, had your connection not been broken. You gain the fourteenth level feature of your former Warlock subclass.
