It seems like a data-merge or use of variable data would streamline the process of adding the text. I don't know how these features are built, but something like that.
To keep the drop-down from being crazy long you could just have a deity drop-down menu appear once you choose a pantheon.
Homebrew pantheon could be another Homebrew Creations option, and then could be added to the user's/DM's/campaign 's Homebrew Collections.
To be honest, I do believe leaving it as a freeform text is way simpler. What if your character's faith is agnostic; or several deities from the list instead?
Let's not try to fix what's not broken. :)
Yeah, I totally see your point, I guess I'd just like some options there. It's certainly not broken as-is, but some options would save my players and I a lot of page flipping or opening new pages and searches on DDB. As-is, it tends to get left blank - even for clerics! - because the options aren't right there in front of them, like so much else is in the character builder. For some builds, it seems like a pretty important choice.
For characters where it's an important choice, a simple list of names is not really helpful - you would want to see the god's alignment and areas, and there it becomes more complicated. Or, if it's an important choice for the player and/or the character, then (IMHO) the player should spend the time to read upon the gods, and should also check with the DM what options and deities are available. And if the player leaves it blank, that also gives the DM an opportunity, to ask the question and talk about it with the player.

But that's also true of lots of things that *are* in the character builder, so that particular argument doesn't hold water.
I'm not saying it wouldn't require real work, but I also don't think it's untenable, and I 'm confident it could be done in a concise wa . Would that include the thought and consideration that choosing a god might/should involve? Maybe not, but neither do lots of other things in the character builder.
I use an older tablet to view my character sheets and ddb automatically switches to the mobile view if my tablet is in portrait orientation is there a way to turn this off? On my larger screen the mobile view looks silly.
- when exporting a character sheet instead of listing the languages known, I get "Common and an extra language". Can we make it so that the PDF extracts the relevant, "set" records ?
- I've set for a Rogue expertise on Stealth+Thief's tools - neither the online sheet, nor the exported character sheet reflect the Thief's Tools expertise. The Stealth has an extra circle around the ability to underline it, but how about making the Thieve's Tools bold, putting an asterisk, or just saying expertise as a note when clicking on it, on the expanded panel ?
This issue of expertise in Thieves Tools has caught me out before as well when helping newer players understand their sheet. That's a good call.
I generally just add "Thieves' Tools" as a custom "Skill" and let the sheet do the rest.
At the bottom of the Skills widget, click on the settings cog
In the side bar, expand "Custom Skill", then click on "Add Custom Skill"
For the custom skill, give it the name "Thieves' Tools", set the Stat to "Dex" and the proficiency level to "Expertise" (or proficient as the case may be)
Save
You'll now see Thieves' Tools listed as a skill with the correct bonuses.
First time using it today. I like it, HOWEVER...I am not buying digital versions of all the books, after already buying hard copies. I should only have to buy the books once. Maybe I'm missing something, but you seem to be charging full retail price for digital versions. That's obscene.

This has been discussed several times. Tl;dr: DnDBeyond is not Wizards; and buying printed copies of books usually doesn't make you eligible for a free or discounted digital version from a different company in general. Not to mention it's not just a simple digital copy...

I’m always confused by claims that DDB is “charging full retail price.” Full retail price for most official D&D books is $50 US. Those $50 books are $30 US on DDB—actually, if all you want is a “digital version” of the book, it’s even less: compendium only prices for such books are typically $20 US here. In other words for $30–$20 less than full retain price—one gets a digital version of the book, access to the content in the character builder [and soon the encounter builder], and access to the content in the various sortable/fillable listings (spells, monsters, etc.).
All that said, only you can decide if the cost of the services DDB provides is worth it to you. If it’s not, then it’s not. Either way, I wish you happy gaming.

Please keep the thread on-topic. This thread is for feedback regarding the character sheet revamp. If you wish to discuss pricing models and digital vs physical, I would encourage you to search the forums on the subject - this has been touched upon in over 100 pages of posts.
Please resume character sheet feedback. Thank you.
I'm sure this has been reported already, but I just noticed it. A rogue character of 7th level should have Expertise in 4 skills. The sheet is showing this accurately on the skills list. However, in the Features and Traits tab it only shows the 6th level Expertise selections.
I did recently run into an issue where I selected (as a 20th level wizard) my two Signature Spells which I happened to already have prepared at the time so they were locked down as "Always Prepared" and still taking up two of my spell slots. I had to remove them via character management, unprepare them, then add them back in order to solve the problem.

Is there any way to show that a skill has advantage? I picked up a sentinel shield for my Cleric and the shield gives a +5 to passive perception but there is no indication that there is advantage on perception checks. Can this be implemented or is it a bug for this item?
Under Customize can you open everything up for customization (especially for anything rolling related).
The dice being used, damage type, range, proficient, etc.
This would apply to Actions, Bonus, Actions, Reaction, Spells, pretty much anything that has the "Customize" section to it.
I really this this will be needed for rolling through DnDBeyond eventually (and things like Tabletop integration). Being able to customize at the same level as say Roll20 allows one to would be great.

There is no Advantage listed for skills. The team has said it is because there are too many caveats to show it effectively, but they know about the request.
This is mostly just a nitpick, and there are certainly more pressing matters that needs looking into, but could it be possible to add the land vehicles to the vehicles section instead of the inventory section?
As it is now, land vehicles are added to inventory and just add weight which cause problems when it comes to encumberance
Secondly, if there is time for it, it would be nice if the background options such as Gladiator(Entertainer) or Guild Merchant(Guild Artisan), could be added as backgrounds as well so that you can pick the right kind of equipment, such as the cart and mule for the Guild Merchant, or retainer for the Knight

The issue with carts, wagons, etc. is that officially/mechanically, they are equipment and not vehicles. That is, they aren’t vehicles in the sense that they don’t have any of the features of the relatively new (from Saltmarsh on) vehicle rules. Because DDB sticks to the official rules, they won’t shift the equipment vehicles over to vehicle(rule) vehicles until/unless WOTC.
Once it is possible to homebrew vehicles (which I believe is on the roadmap somewhere, but likely wont’ be any time soon), you could probably homebrew versions of carts, etc. that follow the equipment rules.
I'm seeing a bug where the "Additional Equipment" section of my PDF is blank. Or rather, the text is there but seems to be invisible (white on white?).
Has anyone else seen this?
I discovered it because I added some homebrew equipment to my character, but they didn't show up on page 2. However, I then searched in the PDF for it and it showed up on page 4 (with a blank box highlighted).
The frame is not working on my character sheets, should it be?

THAC0 means "To-Hit Armor Class 0", and depending on who you ask, it was either pronounced "thack-oh" or "thay-ko". When a -5 was amazing and an insult was asking, "What alignment are you again?"
