I was wondering if it would be possible to add the ability to create folders in the My Characters tab. Especially for The Dungeon Master Tier. It would make it easier to organize NPCs
Thank you,
A Budding DM
Just found this gem! This is a great idea for DMs.
Just been playing with a few things in the campaign i'm currently running. When looking at managing players inventory's and items they find. It's already possible to override the name and add a note. Would be great to override the description to hide what the item is. Once they identify what the item is the overrides can be removed. I.e. - they find a strange orb but have no identify spell or way to identify it immediately. That can be put in their inventory and once identified they discover it is an orb of time and all overrides are removed to reveal what it does.
Not huge but just a good quality of life for keeping some of the items details hidden until identified.
For making NPC’s I just use the character creation because it gives the same stats like a monster but that makes sense just lower their level compared to the party a little bit
Please let us homebrew classes. I know there are no rules in the sourcebooks for this, but with One D&D being playtested, you may well start to lose subscribers as everyone in a campaign switches to the UA classes and can't get them here. The thought has already crossed my mind.
This has been a request for many years now, with varied responses from the team, from the feature being too difficult to consider due to the nature of the old framework to it being planned for some ambiguous time in the future after promising developments with the new framework. I'd be really surprised if we see this feature come to the platform anytime soon, though, since—as you pointed out—there, unsurprisingly, isn't any inherent class homebrew guidance or structure in the official rules and Wizards is going to want to focus more on the new stuff they're actually developing. That being said, I'd be surprised if we don't start seeing UA content coming back to D&D Beyond at some point in the relatively near future given that they're now owned by Wizards of the Coast and some of the cited reasons for pulling back from that, such as having to scramble too quickly because there wasn't any heads up from Wizards about new playtest content, would presumably no longer be an issue.
They could create an absolutely bare-bones class that has few or no features, so subclasses could use it as the foundation to effectively make a new class. They could name them with the class category names (most of which were commoner classes in 3.x), like Warrior, Expert, Priest, and Mage.
Personally, I would really like the ability to change a class’ spellcasting stat so there could be things like INT-based Warlocks. In the story of Dr. Faustus, he made a pact with his devil for knowledge, not for charm.

Something that would be useful would be to filter on owned material in the various tools, I realize that teasing unowned content is a sales driver, perhaps locking the filter as a master perk or something like that? It's a quality of life feature that would be of benefit.
Yes, for character creation too, and for setting parameters for a campaign. The jokey Acquisitions Incorporated spells are not appropriate for many campaigns. The nameless SRD versions of spells (like “Arcane Hand” instead of “Bigby’s Hand”) are unnecessary when you have the original named versions. If I turn off Critical Role content in character creation, “Volstrucker Agent” is properly removed from the backgrounds list, but Zemnian is still on the languages list. If I’m running Eberron, I don’t want all the duplicate Baldur’s Gate backgrounds cluttering up the list, nor do I need a bunch of musical instruments specific to FR. \_ (And really, there should be a write-in option for things like instruments, languages, etc.) Unless I’m running whatever adventure has a fake Demogorgon, I don’t want “The Demogorgon” sitting on top of my monsters list in the Encounter creator.
There are many more, but it seems they understood the need for filters at one point because you can turn off the Rick & Morty crap, but there are far more filters that are either missing or broken. It actually makes me regret having bought the bundles when I have to manually filter a bunch of junk I’ll never use.

I just want to be able to add actions to items and other features we get to homebrew. This is already an option on subraces, so why isn't it an option for items?
I'd like the ability to sort the community homebrew collection by date. There's currently no feasible way to see the newest creation anyone's published, and by default, the system prioritizes anyone who starts the name of their creation with a number, special character, or the letter "a."
Please can the Fighter Optional Class feature "Superior Technique" be fixed so that it is possible to add the Battle Master manouvre you have chosen as part of the feature? (just a simple drop down and the added manouvre added to your character sheet please?)
I'll add this here just in case Devs are still looking at this thread for update ideas.
Allow sharing of homebrew monsters (public or private) for the Encounter Builder with other players that are part of a shared campaign. Some sort of toggle ON/OFF sharing button in our My Homebrew Collection. This way, other players that are occasionally DMs can use the homebrew monsters when using the Encounter Builder.
Currently, there is no way for someone to use someone else's homebrew in the Encounter Builder, even though that same homebrew is shared in the character builder and on the digital character sheet ("Extras" section for homebrew monsters).
Let us edit the damage dice of a weapon. It's insane this hasn't been updated yet. I can't make an item that does 3d4 damage. I have an override for, to Hit, To Hit Bonus, Damage Bonus, Cost Override, Weight Override but nothing for a damage? Even custom weapons can't change it.

You can create a custom action that does 3d4, name it as the weapon, and make it show up as an attack. On the Actions tab, click on Manage Custom.
Here's a thread talking about some custom dice functions:
I would like to be able to add a tool proficiency for vehicles. If I have the right background, I can have the proficiency but if I gain it while playing the game, it can't be added to my character. There is a long list of proficiencies with instruments and gambling games. Can we add vehicles?

Sure but it's an official rule and it would be nice to have the option. Why have some tools listed but not all of them?
Can we add the option to "favorite" our characters so that we can sort by favorites? I like making new characters but I hate how the characters I'm currently playing get lost in the slew.

I want there to be a sidekick maker, that is a combination of the PC maker and homebrew monster maker.

For people with multiple characters for DMing and playing. It'd be nice if we could create folders to organize characters. Thanks.

That almost works but it's not perfect as I can't seem to customize it fully. DnD beyond really needs to make these things fully customizable.

You can do that by adding a custom tool:
Creating Epic Boons on DDB
DDB Buyers' Guide
Hardcovers, DDB & You
Content Troubleshooting
Sure but it's an official rule and it would be nice to have the option. Why have some tools listed but not all of them?
